  • WOW! I feel so honoured to be able to listen to such a magnificent piece, on such a magnificent harpsichord, played by such a magnificent harpsichordist! Thank you so much for enriching Youtube with your virtuossic talent!

  • beautiful sounds that comes from that beautiful instrument executed by a beautiful human being

  • I am 24 yrs old, and I love Bach's music and especially the art of fugue. I've been listening to many versions of this performances. I undoubtably believe that your performance is the best I've heard, even though I am nobody, and surely an beginner on music. I wish to heard more of your performance. Meanwhile, I watched your another video and the background music is the d minor prelude from the WTC. That was truely powerful performance!

  • Thanks Margaret! Great video, great playing!

  • a French double, Blanchet model, built by Wm. Dowd in 1970

  • Lovely, sensitive playing. I can hear every phrase begin and end with clarity. I love the instrument too..Who is the builder?

  • Very nice. The harpsichord is well tuned!

  • You make me want to start playing piano again.

  • @tastygarlic This is a harpsichord not a piano

  • I can hear the end of that in my mind. 5 stars for this great video.

  • fantastic. I'm perplexed. This is your life's work and only now are you doing this for YouTube.

    You are a puzzle.

  • I was so hoping you might share some of that beautiful music with us. Thanks you my dear.

  • Margaret, beautifully performed. I love how this ends with the unresolved note. It leaves me wanting more and I'm sure you will deliver. :) Thank you, thank you for sharing your talent.

  • It is actually not a question of resolution. It is just that we are not all that accustomed to hearing a piece ending on the third of the tonic chord, I chose to ornament it because of the nature of the last few bars. I played the complete Art of Fugue in the 1960's in Town Hall, New York, and believe I was the first harpsichordist to do so in the U.S.

  • Very nice and congradulations! The ornament on the last note on the third is totally a french style and I use that one a lot, but i think i never do it in non french music.

  • wonderful - so peaceful, so unaffected - great!

  • :-)
