  • i loved this sound check remind s me of early pink floyd meets the 1812 overture i remember taping it ..as it was played all the time at the ? theater in the village nyc in between movies then they played atom heart mother right after

  • Brilliant. I took a gamble that I MIGHT find this. Was hit'n miss, but I just needed to type in Marlon Brando and bingo. Brings back memories of my early teens. Saw it at the cinema and later on TV.

  • "No dear soldier it does not work like that friend, If a man gives you freedom it is not freedom.

Freedom is something that YOU, you must take for yourself,

    Do you understand?"

    (young soldier shakes his head)

Well you will on day, you have already started to think about it."

  • This film seems to be banned in Britain ~ never seen it, certainly not on TV

    THE INCREDIBLE ENNIO MORRICONE

  • @HughHue Maybe you just ain't old enough lol... I saw this about 30 years ago on TV in England and remembered the score ever since

  • @spartylea ~ I wrote, "This film seems to be banned in Britain" and you replied you saw it "about 30 years ago on TV".

Like I said ~ This film seems to be banned in Britain

  • @HughHue I saw it years ago on telly... now I just bought the dvd.... why do you think it's banned?

  • @spartylea Hello sparty. Sorry I didn't get back to you, but I've had a terrible time accessing my YouTube account because of THE EVIL GOOGLE ~ uTube! You should never have sold out to Them at any price...

    CONCERNING 'BURN / Quemada' ~

It seems like it's banned - why might it be?

eh... the UK has been involved in wars for many years now (Libya only the latest 'venue') ~ it might not play well, an Italian movie that shows The British Empire in a less than complimentary way. The truth hurts!

  • @HughHue

It isnt banned.. its been on tv in england

  • @spartylea Hello again. You say:

"It isnt banned.. its been on tv in england"

    ONCE AGAIN ~

I never said it was banned. I said, It SEEMS like it was banned, NOT MEANING: 'apparently it was banned' but meaning: 'it's AS IF it was banned'

"it's been on TV in England" ~ yeah, when last? A very long time ago. Well before 'England' started invading other people's countries. They were allied with the U.S. where and when songs by John Lennon were BANNED on the radio...

    M'Lud, I rest my case.

  • world need the 132 min version. Please, can someone post it?

  • Excellent score by Ennio Morricone!

  • One of da greatest movies evva made !

  • @Hemulen40

  • thanks for posting this clip. It´s hard to believe Pontecorvo is racist.

  • brando's autobiography; p 327: "i also found it increasingly amusing that a man so dedicated to marxism found it so easy to exploit his workers. meanwhile, gillo's superstitions knew no bounds." ...p 325-328; the black extras were given "inedible" food; brando called a doctor for a half-dead kid; director mad the kid to doctor ruined filming; and brando would break mirrors and spill salt just to get superstitious director nervous.

  • thanks for the information. I really didn't know that!

  • you're welcome. have a nice weekend.

  • nice to see the clip. but brando, in his autobiography, said the director was a hypocritical racist; treated the natives like dirt, and the italian crew had their food imported (just like the italian crew for apocalypse now did). producer/studio wanted sidney poitier for the rebel leader?

  • Bueno eso seguro no es verdad. Pontecorvo es de lejos mucho mejor que Brando!! se filmó en mi país Colombia y Pontecorvo eligió a un Colombiano (Evaristo Márquez) en el papel de José Dolores
