Underground Rap is just as shitty as the mainstream crap you hear. I don't know why the Raptards use it as proof. The only difference is the lyrics tend to have a little more substance, but the beats are just as generic. Great video.
Well that is my own personal opinion but i'll show you my reasons.
1. Their songs are brutal (in a BAD way). They have no subtlety and are just trying to be loud and obnoxious.
2. Their masks are just pathetic. It dosen't make them scary, interesting or complex individuals in which the masks show dual personalities; it just makes them look like their going to a seven year-old's Halloween party.
I have more but that's just my own personal opinion so I don't care if you like them or not. :)

1. Airbourne
2. Jet
3. The Parlor Mob
the rest just SUCK!!
its a shame to categorize the garbage they're makin' under Rock/Metal Genre!!
what happened to bands like AC/DC, SkidRow, Guns N Roses, Megadeth, Scorpions ...ect! not Nickleback, 3 Days GraVe, or that other stupid band .. Children Of Cutton!!

Listen to "The Love Below" half of Outkast's "Speakerboxxx/Love Below"... it's basically a fusion of jazz, soul, funk, rap and rock.
Aside from that, popular hip-hop is basically the music industry's equivalent to "summer blockbusters"... they pay very little money to kids that don't have any to produce primarily mindless music that's going to sell millions of dollars worth in downloads on iTunes alone... with a fresh crop to pick from when they try to actually speak their minds.

So to the comments on rap, have the commenter thought about Anthrax feat. Public Enemy?? Or what about Agnostic Front? Or Hatebreed for that matter. Trashers sing differently then NWOBHM-bands in the sence that they sing the rhythm (according to Chuck Billy) just about what (good) rappers do.

The truth of the matter is that you are going to find music that sounds the same in every genre no matter where you look but, if you open your eyes you will find the music that makes people listen to every genre. It can be good or bad but once again this is all based off of opinion. Do some research, ask people who listen to metal which songs or bands they enjoy and give it a try. Hell you can do this even for rap.

Bull shit. All blues does not sound the same. Blues is Blues. It's about expressing sadness. It's all about emotion. And if you are true to the genre then it never sounds the same. Listen to Hendrix or SRV. Every time they play a particular song it's a completely different version. And that's how you can distinguish between good music and shitty music. I'm talking about American music not European Classical (which is great btw).

Fact, not all metal sounds the same.
Out of all the genres out there Metal has one of the largest and most diverse group of sub genres. For example, compare the sound of Nu Metal to Folk or Celtic Metal. Anybody that isn't deaf can tell you there is a huge difference between the two sub genres.
Fact: Many metal guitar players take a large amount of influence from both jazz and blues, which is easily apparent if you actually take time to listen and study the work of certain artists.

Well that is my own personal opinion but i'll show you my reasons.
1. Their songs are brutal (in a BAD way). They have no subtlety and are just trying to be loud and obnoxious.
2. Their masks are just pathetic. It dosen't make them scary, interesting or complex individuals in which the masks show dual personalities; it just makes them look like their going to a seven year-old's Halloween party.
I have more but that's just my own personal opinion so I don't care if you like them or not. :)
