  • Guy drives soooo slow it brings up the question who they made the video for.

He is drifting and sliding at less than 40mph that is not a good commercial for

people who drive and have driven fast cars fast. This is why they kept changing

    cameras constantly.

  • Looks like a Need For Speed Ungerground 2 replay, LOL.

  • what a delicate people on here ... wtf do anyone care about the cam switching?.. damm stupid people

  • Thumbs up. If came here searching Need for Speed The Run

  • the red bull x2010 is faster

  • There's only one Claude Lelouch's RENDEZVOUS. Pretty good as well is the late David E. Davis Jr.'s THE CALIFORNIA MILLE, 4 minutes or so flogging an Audi RS4 through a Northern California mountain route. Not enough gunning-it-raw from this Z in Prague.

  • HD, please!

  • ty si ale blb.... :D ... aspon, keby si vedel jazdit a nebolo to seriove auto :D

  • Where the hell are the police?

  • unimpressed.

  • It's just a 350Z... In 8 minutes it got down to the end of the street.

  • we want underground 3 come on now

  • horrible editing.. got maybe 1 min in..

Look up Get Away in Stockholm for much better videos. GiS!

  • To me, it's just a very long seven minute video of a car driving down a street. If anything, it makes me realize that videogames make this stuff look far more exciting than it does if you do it in real life.

  • oww awful graphics... it's like a very cheap camera...

  • This is stupid for two reasons.

    1. The streets were obviously not completely shut down like it said.

    2. The car didn't gun it through the city like every man on Earth would've done if he had the chance.

  • just because theres 14 cameras dont mean you switch between them every .000012 seconds

  • Yawn, seen it all before, this was not all filmed in one take, as different camera angle shots need to be filmed and edited together in the studio! Also you would not be able to close down a large city as you can see with busses and trams still on the roads!

Sorry, just a re make of an old film.

  • I have seen this 2 years ago and I was thinking - this is great. However then I saw Rendezvous and this is now just a car which was driven fast but safely in Prague.

  • i got bored after minute 3:00 ... it just doesn't feel climatic, or epic, for that matter. just a car driving around prague.. big whoop.

  • Quote from the video description: "No special effects stunts. No faking it in the editing room." - Look at the number plate in this video from 6:00 to 6:15. Why missing the number plate? :)))

  • one continuous run hey? but then where is the car that is filming from the front?

Nice Try, this must have taken a while to do but ultimately its bullshit.

Why dont you just say what it really is....

  • As a kid I remember seeing this in a theatre as a trailer before a movie and being completely goose-pimple impressed by it. Rewatching it, especially after watching C'etait un Rendezvous" only makes me realize how much better a Ferrari does this.

  • jesus that was boring. Its a lot more fun actually driving the car! ^_^ '03 chrome silver touring model C:

  • i cant believe people would actually think that they would shoot a car going almost flat out through the city without closing the roads...and the driver looks like he isnt going as fast as he could...give stig the wheel next time...

  • I love this car, don't care what people think!

  • This time 101 people has a point!

  • Hmm, this doesn't have the same sparkle as Rendezvous. There's too much editing for a start, and as a result it looks too much like an advert (which I'm aware it technically is). It's definitely a cool idea though. Just needs moar bumper-cam.

  • @Mikeado66 Rendezvous was a much bigger fake than this. It was filmed with a Mercedes 450SEL, and they dubbed the audio from a Ferrari 275 on a race track over it. There's several spots where the dubbing is painfully obvious. At least in this one they faced the truth and didn't dub in audio of the engine revving out when the driver was off the throttle.

I agree that this video would have been better using just the bumper-cam.

  • Most of the time he was off the throttle!

  • too much cutting

  • Obviously all the haters here have never driven on wet cobble-stone overlayed with trolley tracks. True it looks slow in spots, but trust me - any more throttle and the Z could have been history. Its not a drift track - these are narrow roads between historical buildings 100's of years old. The Nissan is not the best choice for "the Run" ... a smaller & lighter awd car would have been more appropriate. Something like and Audi S3 or VW r32 could have carved through the cobble stones better.

  • This is an answer to BMW´s The Hire? First minute I was laughing, then I was boaring and last I became sad, because this 7 minutes in my life can no one give me back.

  • You did not just hit that sandpile with that car!!!

  • i got bored after 2 minutes he lifts his foot off the accelerator every 2 fucking seconds. vrrrroo..........vrrrrooooo............vrrroooo its shit.

  • looks slow to me

  • Too many cuts. No HD?

  • @TheTopBloke Youtube 2006? HD? Are you crazy?

  • Respect to the driver

  • They say it was done in 1 take, but then how come the cars that films from behind and in front of the Z are never pictured in the shot from the headlight's perspective??

  • @57250tr They said that each take was done in one continuous sequence. they never said it was done in one take.

  • His driving style is horrendous. first two minutes of straight line driving was just blip throttle, blip throttle, blip throttle.

  • If you muted it and added some cool commentary, it'd make a pretty good commercial.

  • I love Z's this was a great video. Awsome sauce

  • BMW's the Hire movies are way better... Don't you think??

  • FUCK THE POLICE haha nice video

  • I bet there are a few Z owners who jack-off to this every night, then run out to their garage and open the hatch of the Z to spew in its ass.

  • yawn, the streets were empty and the driver wasn't even stepping on it. lame vid...

  • Claude Lelouch original was and still is the best. The sound of that 275GTB is breathtaking!

Here with the Nissan, too much use of camera angles, too many effects. It's chaotic and distracting.

Closed roads, safe, but NOT a good starting point for a film like this. C'était un rendez-vous is much more dramatic, in no small part do to the fact the streets were NOT closed. They had scouts on blind junctions with hand held radios to make sure it was clear.

Sorry, the run, two thumbs down.

  • wats the point of tis vid? at least BMW -the hire is entertaining...

  • i may as well of watched touring car racing or something. having no traffic makes this terrible. C'était un rendez-vous FTW!

  • Staged Rubbish..

  • Naaaaaaaahhh...Nissan just doesn´t do it for me at all...now if it were a Ferrari then it would be a whole different story!A Ferrari F430 for example...but Nissan is like...meh.Nothing in this World compares to a Ferrari in high gear!

  • What a let down! Controlled conditions mean flat out, dead stick and total commitment into every corner! Not limpwristed overrun ON THE DAMN STRAIGHTS AS WELL!

Massively disappointed. Do it again, but put a driver who has some commitment, not someone who just wants to have a gentle tour round prague!

Oh and put a proper exhaust on the damn thing as well!

  • Comment removed

  • This is weak. Check out the real thing: c'est un rendezvous

  • And why is the sand crash SOOO obviously on purpose?

  • Uncool man, the driver lifts off all half of the time in the movie, there is no driving on the edge, THEY CONTROL THE CIRCUMSANCES you can hit the damn throttle then!! he lifts off ALL the time! no shame on those old roads, but on the tarmac.

This is a remake of "c'est un rendezvous" that guy hits the throttle like his life depends on it. If you know you r making a remake of that, why go soft on yourself? add a damn rally suspension set or choose a better car and hit the damn throttle!

  • 14 cameras and a five-point harness and we get this piece of shite. "Homage" or not, this commercial is just crap and the director should be ashamed of himself. With closed streets and police assist (by the filmmaker's own admission) they could have really melted some pavement, but the clip ends up feeling like it was filmed underwater and in slow motion. Lame lame lame lame lame.

  • Weak.

  • editing killed it

  • Should've used a 240Z with a 3.1 stroker and triple webers. Would've sounded so much better.

  • bullshit

  • This is nothing.

  • For those of you dont know, he averaged over 100mph in one take, that this was filmed. I doubt any of you shit talkers could do that in your Ford Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Charger, or Civic.

  • It said that, "...each take was shot in one continuous sequence...", so there must have been several takes -- one shot from a chase vehicle, another from a vehicle in front, another from a helicopter, etc., then the separate takes were cut and spliced together, so the shots from the front don't show another car behind, the shots from behind don't show a car in front, and the shots from the air don't show any cars in front or behind.

  • this is relly shit

  • "No special photography was use to enhance the actual speed of the run."

    Yea, I Believe it.

  • Bad version of 1976's 'C'etait un rendez-vous' by Claude Lelouche

  • this is how i would be driving it...and i am a shit driver....

  • 6:05 romanian embassy

  • I fell asleep.

  • continuous my ass, the camera the shoots from behind isnt there when you see it from the front, what bs

  • Wow, such a display of ignorance, and sorry I don't use that word lightly. First keep in mind it's not the OP's car, dummy, this was a PROMO DVD sent out by Nissan. Second, if you don't think pushing 120 or above in a city like Prague is pushing it, then I'd be surprised if you've even had a driver's license for 10 years. Ever drive at 80 on cobbles? Or even drive in a European city laid out like cattle paths? Or ever even drive a 350Z? Man, go do some research if nothing else.

  • If this was a closed course you should have PUSHED YOUR CAR. This seems like you were just holding it in gear without actually stepping it up to accelerate. The stockholm videos are MUCH better, they actually know how to corner instead of slowing the car to a crawl for every turn.

  • watch @ YT: VW Golf 1 GTI Pirelli vs. Opel Kadett C Coupe`2.0 Fahrt zum Nürburgring Teil 1 . Real life docu from Germany summer of ´89 . Much more awful.

  • completely boring 7 minutes :( i can't see nothing authentical - fail!

  • Funny how no pedestrians ever bother to turn and look at the car. When ever I see a car haulin ass, everybody turns to look.

  • if he wasn't feathering the throttle the ENTIRE time, it might have been decent... that and get rid of the stupid "pan to gearchange with black glove." and i love how they said they closed the route but they threw in a few honking Volvos for effect... too many things wrong, but kudos for trying!

  • It feels as if it could have been so much better...

  • @podiceps then you would crash and die.

  • Love the subtle (or not so subtle) nods to c'etait un rendezvous! :D

  • This is shit! The Ferrari 275 through Paris is much better.

  • I drive my Miata faster than this. Beautiful city by the way.

  • NFS on BIIIG screeen in prague:

Need For Speed SHIFT - gaming in the city

  • i like the pontiac solstice better!

  • laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame

  • He wasn't blasting as fast as possible. This guy is a pussy :\

  • Comment removed

  • This was staged. All the pedestrians were actors.

It's not real life, it's a commercial, a big one though.

The premisse of this commercial is "blast through the city of Prague as fast as possible", but in the end, it fails to deliver what it promissed.

    Do you get it now?

Some people are just out of touch with reality, sheesh!

  • Alright, it is a commercial. And as you said "as fast as possible", how fast will you be able to achieve within city limits? Twists and curves everywhere, buildings, sidewalks, trees, phone booths, etc etc are everywhere. So I think it's reasonable to drive at 120-150 WITHIN city limits. And for your information, I am in touch with reality.

  • I just feel like this guy doesn't push the car to the edge. It feels like I'm watching some lame Hot Wheels commercial for retarded kids.

  • Well I agree on that note.

  • having got used to the 370s fangs, this looks gummy - as if its false teeth are in a jar somewhere.

  • This was the promo video for the 350Z? Christ, it makes it look boring. However the 350Z is one the funnest cars you'll ever drive. Just keep that TCS off :)

  • On reading final credits, it mentions "Drivers (PLURAL) were wearing 5-point racing harnesses." So if we take them at their word, that it was shot in one take, I don't think they'd have put 5-points in the buses and other incidental vehicles used to mimic "Rendezvous" - also seems to support two identical car theory...

  • It doesn't say that it was shot in one take. It says "each take was shot in one continuous sequence". I assume this means that they did the journey many times and changed the camera angle and driver.

  • There are two 350z's driving at the same time. The rear one shows the rear of the car and the front one shows the front of the car. The helicopter only shows one at a time.

  • Occurred to me that TWO identical cars were run together, each with front and rear mounted cameras (I'll assume state-of-the-art allows these to be small &/or mounted discreetly, so either as not to be seen or easily edited out... this would explain all the front/rear street and car views...

  • met die snelheid had ik nog in zijn 1 gereden met de handrem der op

    lata

  • oh wow a driving car at normal speed.

Even if he been too fast at times, should we be praising that retarded and dangerous behaviour now?

And how come there is a front car/camera, but on other angles you can't see it.

It's not one scene it's fake.

Oh and the frontcar was as fast as the Z. cool.

The sounddesign is also really really poor and sounds after edited.

lol @ ending with the police. Poor actors.

  • DUDE, they closed down prague for this. It was under controlled conditions, he wasnt being retarded or dangerous. You are thinking of the 1970's film featuring a ferrari in paris.

  • @joness105639 rendez-vous

  • @joness105639 : NoNoNo, a MERCEDES, not a Ferrari :).

  • @RandomTJ

    You sure about that?

It's just a theory. Not proven in any way.

Remember, Claude Lelouch owned a 275 GTB ;)

  • @tarell676 : Yes I am pretty sure. I have in fact seen som old pictures where they monted a camera on the front of a Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9.

  • @joness105639

and please remember "Professional driver on closed course , don't attempt"

  • what are you?... a movie critique???

  • Bad exploitation of "C'était un rendez-vous". And they were not pushing at all. Especially on exterior shots (unless they had a Lambo or a Ferrari as a camera-car :P). I love the Z but this is downgrading. I hope the "Getaway in Stockholm" guys will use a Z in their next movie...

  • Whatever epileptic monkey cut this needs to fuck off.

  • cHINGON.....

  • ANd that looks like a 350Z Track Model (by the look of the rims). I want to download that video so bad.

  • I have the DVD. It was released at the chicago auto show some years ago.

  • Any body got this video HD or at least beter than what we got here?

  • Calm down. This directed video have been made for fun. Road was closed and each take was shot in one continuous sequence. That doesn't mean the car was riden only once. U can't read or you are silly. He don't drive so fast, becouse its not race. Point is, the car ride fast in historical centre of Prague, where cars are ussualy forbidden. It's not hardcore, but i like the idea. Sorry for gramatic.

  • :) I like the idea too :)

  • that must be at morning like at 6:00

Coz in prague are Traffic jam at all

    (Im from prague)

  • This sucks on so many levels...

  • if there are cars in front of him (the film car) and behind him, obviously this is not the fastest run that could be made.... cool filming, lame that it's not really much of an accomplishment

  • the city was shutdown, this is nothing hardcore at all

  • The driver keeps lifting off when he doesn´t need to.....man, what a pussie!

  • The description claims that this was a single take. I don't know about that. Notice how you can't see the other cameras? For example, the car is shot from behind, but when the scene changes to a front-view, you can't see the camera that was previously filming the car from behind.

Same as when the shot changed to a view from inside the car, you can't see the camera that was supposed to be filming the car from the front. Suspicious!

  • Wow and I used to like 350z's?

  • What garbage.

A perfect opportunity to make a really good video, and then they fuck it up by putting a complete pussy of a driver in a POS rear-wheel-drive Maxima.

I'll jump on the bandwagon here. Rendezvous is indeed 100 times better.

  • what junk! boring as hell. This car sucks and sounds like a small desk fan. What a staged fake piece of crap.

  • So uninspiring compared to Rendezvous, they should have picked a route where they did't have to slow down to 20 kph every 15 seconds and should have dubbed the VQ35DE with a Ferrari like the original or at leased something that doesn't sound like a broken air conditioner made in the late 80s

  • I remember this, it was a promotional stunt by nissan when the 350z first came out. this wasnt very good, if the sound of the engine is accurate he didnt take it above say 4000rpm, the busses etc were deliberate. this was just a waste of time for nissan, prague and anybody watching it.

  • First Comment!

  • second the comment below

just gutted he didn't do it in the ferrari, it was actually his merc :(

  • lelouch's is 100 times better in my opinion

  • that was tawdry at best. they make a point of stating that it is closed streets, then drive slower than my mother... then they put cars into the shots and get them to toot to pretend that the streets aren't closed. lame, lame, lame. the "stunt" shot with the two buses was naff. the supposed "extreme" drifts were boring. also, the using of chase cars for shooting, but then pretending it was all done in "one shot". that is 4 mins of my life I wont get back (couldn't watch it all....) urgghhhh.

  • Waste of time and money. I was yawning the whole way.

The origianl Claude Lelouch movie that used a single camera in a real setting (not closed streets) was much better. You'd think the driver of this car could put his foot down on the petal just a LITTLE bit more since he knew there wouldn't be cars and people in the street except where they were placed for dramatic effect.

  • @manchld Are you kidding? Lelouch made his film that way because, well, they couldn't really afford to make it any other way (never mind the technical difficulties at the time). His old Mercedes looked like it was going 50mph the whole way and only the V12 soundtrack made that film exciting.

This video, on the other hand, is actually pretty cool as it shows a closed-track street run at just about as fast as anyone could go in this car.

  • @roots4x what do you mean only the v12 soundtrack made the film exciting!...Lelouch drove on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, and onto the footpath, all on public roads with cars, people and pigeons!!!!

  • @trubro

    AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @manchld I couldn't agree more!

  • awesome car, awesome sound.... i wish have this car

  • Nissan should get a new GTR R35 to do this, it will much faster

  • Claude Lelouch inspired

  • It's a closed course. Pay attention.

  • You are an idiot beyond belief. The course is closed. K thx.

  • err... the streets are closed down you idiot, and this isn't some 'younh hellraiser' this is a professional race driver working for a large company. You attitude is quite laughable.

  • err... the streets are closed down you idiot, and this isn't some 'younh hellraiser' this is a professional race driver working for a large company. You attitude is quite laughable.

  • ignoring how much better this video could have been... shot in one continuous run??? So how did they mount and dismount the top down boot camera between shots??? and the outside views taken by a chase car infront and behind...??? when I have enough time on my hands i'll show them how it's done!!

  • vai se fude juttv

  • boring i tough that NISSAN 350Z is gonna blow!

  • Boring. the sound of the engine almost put me to sleep. Why so much coasting?

    BORING.

  • i wasted 7 min of my life im never geting back

  • could have been great, a classic for the 21st century, but way too fussy, should have kept it simple.a wasted chance, shame.

  • cuprarosa, how do you mean? I was thinking about buying one but if it breaks down alot forget it.

  • i was talking about the editing, the car is OK,a bit heavy and difficult to tune, + styling is no 240Z - thats a classic.

  • really? it seems all i see in tuner mags is stuff for the 350z. im new to cars though so i guess ill do more resaearch befor buying. stay up!

  • Oh, and this video is weak, it doesn't come close to lelouche's or even Climb Dance

  • As a red blooded American male car lover, I'm afraid thesolo is right, just about all American cars are crap (exceptions: Z06 and umm, ??). By crap I mean unrefined, poor handling, cheap parts, heavy, overly soft suspension, poor balance, etc. Any "performance" car should have a very firm ride, excellent handling and a good power/weight ratio and I cant think of one American car, except the Z06 that accomplishes this.

I would still take an 07' M3 over the Vette though. Sad but true folks...

  • Boring. Obviously staged, and takes a lot of the fun out of it.

While dangerous, the risks taken in the original lelouche film were obviously spontaneous and unscripted, making them that much more impressive to watch.

I also feel the filmmaking is inferior. The constant camera changes are annoying and make it harder to immerse yourself in the journey.

...and anyone who thinks that the 350Z is "far superior" to anything built in America needs to drive a Z06.

  • well, Z06 is a great car, but it is like the only exception in the great crop of american cars. Europe and Japan, on the contrary, have a lot of well handling, fast cars, which are proably not nearly as powerful as any american muscle car, but certainly more suited for track/race use. Still, different folks, different strokes, people in US are entitled to their own taste and opinion, but I would never agree that american cars are track liking animals, which is the case here.

  • Great comment, sirkrustin. This was filmed on closed roads with staged pedestrians, etc.

As for the C6 Z06, VERY impressive car, one of the few good American cars made in the last 20 years. On the whole, American cars are rubbish, but that one...just wow.

  • completely agree with everything you said here. except that last bit... there are some great american made cars but the 350z is nice. real nice.

  • nissan z's are pieces of shit. my dog can shit faster than your z can can even say, triscuit

  • Are you retarded? Have you ever driven a Nissan 350z? Or are you not old enough yet. I think you would understand if you drove one before you shot off at the mouth.
