If Battler doesn't believe in witches in the beginning, why does he not outright reject Beatrice's existence the minute he sees her? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if his not believing is what keeps everyone from going to the Golden Land, and Beatrice from existing...Doesn't that mean she doesn't exist, by default? I was honestly expecting him to say there was something in the tea that made him hallucinate or something.

@BitchyMcSmartass Battler is objecting Beatrice's existence in the Game Board only. {what truly happened on Rokkenjima} the Meta World is a place where Battler can fight against Beatrice while denying her and magic at the same time. What you saw in Episode 1 {the first murders/game} were only "magic illusions", while Battler tries to shatter those illusions by finding the true human culprit, what happened "Earth to Earth".

He was drinking tea in the Meta World, because the 1st game had ended.

@zudbard LOL it's like that in books too sometimes. I got used to the gore and death and turning to stone in Methodius Buslaev (a book. In Russian) pretty quickly. Only two characters I can never forgive the author for killing...Rufin and Filomena... Poor them. Rufin got turned to stone in the first damn book (Sad life thats like killing a child only the char is like, 16) and well Filomena was often what forced me to read on for the awesome.So this anime gives me THAT SORT OF DEJA VU...

@Ander0072originalv2 The way I understood it was that Higurashi was a game between Lambdadelta and Featherine and Rika was Featherines Piece. Featherine left the game and it didn't get a proper ending, and Rika was stuck in an endless loop until she somehow managed to create the miracle that let her out of it, and Bern, the witch of miracles, was born. That's the way I always thought of it :/

Bernkastel existed before Rika.

The proof is, Bernkastel was a piece, then her Master left the game when he caused a Logical Error, then Bern-Piece was send to hell, until she managed a miracle and solved that problem for her master's sake. After so many time in hell, she 'broke', but she survived and become a full witch, Bernkastel, the Witch of Miracles, merciless and ruthless.

Unless she was a piece in Higurashi too, my truth is effective.

@laripresti Actually there is a theory that Higu was a game between Lambda and Aurora who has abandoned it and left Rika in hell, but she has managed to get out of it and started to live - and thus an Endless Witch of Miracles Bernkastel was born. The proof is - Bern once was miko - Shrine maiden of Aurora - and that's actually what Rika was. However, since it was Bern herself - not Aurora, who won the game by miracle, Lambda is always saying that Bern bet her.

That's as interesting theory, that could explain why Bern always says 'she just got tired of it, i just won an endurance game'.

But both of then being a Miko doesn't explain everything, that COULD be a coincidence, Rika's character won't work unless she was a Miko.

And that game won by a 'miracle' is what holds me to this Theory 'Bernkastel was born from that game', but i personally don't like it, that why a try to explain in other ways.

I'd love to read the game (I already finished EP1 since you can download it for free) but sadly the game is sold out in every online-shop that sells Doujin Software and I can't use the downloads because they don't work for Germany.

The answer is probably Neon-Genesis Evengelion, and that was such a fucked up show. People hate this series not just because it's scary, but because they think it will be like past failures. Just look at most horror movies and you'll see what I mean. Plot seems inexistant in horror shows and films.
