i bought this game brand new. actually last game ever bought new for nes. i loved this game. takes a big to get used to but. i thought it was ahead of its time. had to pit and once you got used to cornering it was very competitive and fun
this game isn't bad at all, and mastered the driving in 30 minutes..... people tryin to find excuses to hate it. If you are bored with this go play pong.

Yeah, no idea how you could miss the undeniably classic early/mid 90's NASCAR game for DOS. Incredibly detailed car destruction + MASSIVE pile ups + being able to design your own car decals = infinite fun! I've probably played it more than any other racing game and I don't remember even finishing a single race!

Everyone is always so quick to play the "it's all left turn making, beer drinking, no talent hicks" card, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say 90% of them have never watched a single second of a race. It may not be Le Mans or F1, but it still takes talent, intelligence and skill.

The game wasn't that bad.I had it for the game boy and if you like racing you should like this game.I think most people are spoiled by all the graphics in most games today and don't realize how far we have come in video games in general.Why does every game have to have something blow up to be fun or burn and catch on fire.Yes those type of games are fun but a change of pace is nice every now and then.
Someone probably already mentioned it, but you should play Nascar Rumble on the PS1. Its a very fast paced racing game with liscensed Nascar cars and drivers but it has powerups like missiles, EMP blasts, shields, and so many other cool things. You don't even have to race as a Nascar car. Why would you want to when you can race as a camper van and beat the crap out of Jeff Gordon?
I'm with you all the way on there not being many good NASCAR games. I've played a few NASCAR games, and none of them were fun at all. I'll have to check out NASCAR Kart Racing sometime! Sounds fun!

Can't say I'd expect much of an NES racing game unless it was Offroad or RC Pro-Am. Obviously this style of racing on the NES would be terrible. No surprise there.
@chadheck96 well ok agree on that...I tried Nascar on GT% and it's kinda entertaining but still after some while it's just boring but well those guys deserve some respect.
1. There were good Nascar simulations when Papyrus still produced them for PC.
2. If you would now something about Nascar then you wouldn´t embarass yourself by saying it´s all about going around in circles. It´s about strategy and working together with other drivers on the track, using slipstream and momentum and high-speed door-to-door racing you won´t see anywhere else.
3. Most of the ignorant whiners don´t even know there are 4 road courses used by Nascar (LoL!)

Nascar-sims are usually pretty sweet technical-wise, but really driving around an oval for ages in cars that all look the same, isnt really very a fun thing to start with.
I'm... not seeing why this game is so awful. No explosions? Really? Is that the best you could think of? I mean, okay, if it controls poorly that's one thing, but I'm having trouble finding anything about this game that really warrants the beating you gave it.
it's not so slow as i expected, not bad for an 8bit console.. well the digital controller is not the best for it. would've been great at least better with some analog controller.
a bit weird is the track display like outrun. that doesn't match nascar imho.

Sure the gameplay is the most important factor, and if it's really bad then obviously this isn't a good game, but I'd pay a buck for the game, maybe even two or three. ;)
What a huge loss though, since they did everything else so well...
me and my brother played this game back in the day. It wasn't bad. Controls weren't great, but it looked to me like Mark didn't really play the game much, since that's like the 1st 2 tracks and he kept driving on the side of the road. This isnt like other driving games on the NES, it requires patience. Like Nascar games usually do.
I don't remember this on the PC, but the company (DSI) also did an F1 game (Grand Prix Circuit) and its motorcycle counterpart (called The Cycles), and those two did not look any better than this.
NASCAR is dumb sport! driver only has to keep the steering wheel at the same position all the time, a bit to the left and he wins(if he has good car). yea what great drivers and great sport lol
@MotherfuckingBATTERY You won't because I don't want to drive the whole dam sport. And yes maybe I wouldn't complete the lap because i will on purpose crash the car to ruin the whole sport. And even so called NASCAR "professionals" cant drive thos cars because in every race of NASCAR at least 100 cars always crash, many of them in the very first lap.
If Mark ever does MS-DOS games, he should look at the first "NASCAR Racing" game from 1994-95, the one published by Papyrus (before Sierra took them over). They also made IndyCar versions.
It's an awesome simulator, that game is the reason why Gran Turismo didn't blow me away as a sim like it did some people. Gran Turismo was the first good racing sim on a console, but NASCAR on the PC was kicking ass years earlier. It's so realistic some may find it frustrating, but I loved it.

Nascar-sims are usually pretty sweet technical-wise, but really driving around an oval for ages in cars that all look the same, isnt really very a fun thing to start with.

I'm... not seeing why this game is so awful. No explosions? Really? Is that the best you could think of? I mean, okay, if it controls poorly that's one thing, but I'm having trouble finding anything about this game that really warrants the beating you gave it.

it's not so slow as i expected, not bad for an 8bit console.. well the digital controller is not the best for it. would've been great at least better with some analog controller.
a bit weird is the track display like outrun. that doesn't match nascar imho.

Wow I'm really surprised at how much Mark bashed this, especially since it looks, well exceptionally good for a NES racer. I feel like trying it out just to see those 8bit 3D graphics in action and overall the presentation seems very nice. Even actual tracks?
Sure the gameplay is the most important factor, and if it's really bad then obviously this isn't a good game, but I'd pay a buck for the game, maybe even two or three. ;)
What a huge loss though, since they did everything else so well...

me and my brother played this game back in the day. It wasn't bad. Controls weren't great, but it looked to me like Mark didn't really play the game much, since that's like the 1st 2 tracks and he kept driving on the side of the road. This isnt like other driving games on the NES, it requires patience. Like Nascar games usually do.

I don't remember this on the PC, but the company (DSI) also did an F1 game (Grand Prix Circuit) and its motorcycle counterpart (called The Cycles), and those two did not look any better than this.

The original Japanese version of this game for Famicom features F1 race cars. The gameplay is the same.

NASCAR is dumb sport! driver only has to keep the steering wheel at the same position all the time, a bit to the left and he wins(if he has good car). yea what great drivers and great sport lol

@MotherfuckingBATTERY You won't because I don't want to drive the whole dam sport. And yes maybe I wouldn't complete the lap because i will on purpose crash the car to ruin the whole sport. And even so called NASCAR "professionals" cant drive thos cars because in every race of NASCAR at least 100 cars always crash, many of them in the very first lap.

Try NASCAR Rumble for PS1, only NASCAR game I ever liked. Hopefully NASCAR stops making games, and sticks to teaming with GT.

If Mark ever does MS-DOS games, he should look at the first "NASCAR Racing" game from 1994-95, the one published by Papyrus (before Sierra took them over). They also made IndyCar versions.
It's an awesome simulator, that game is the reason why Gran Turismo didn't blow me away as a sim like it did some people. Gran Turismo was the first good racing sim on a console, but NASCAR on the PC was kicking ass years earlier. It's so realistic some may find it frustrating, but I loved it.
