excellent points. Atheism is the only rational way to look at the universe. you look at the universe as a whole and see it is in complete and utter chaos. looking at a small part of it, AKA the solar system, it is easy to find order in chaos.
@divud123 When one talks about scientific principle or theorem one does not use the term "believe". Science and it's accompanying hypothesis theories suppositions or what have you, are always in a state of flux and change because we learn something every day. So no, I do not "believe" the universe has order, rather I understand that there is some order and chaos both in the universe... One doesn't need a super hero to get it either.
Your notion that scientist who are intelligent don't believe in God is false. You said yourself Newton was a genius. He professed his faith through science not church doctrine. Even though he wasn't a christian or believed in a personalized god, even Einstein believed in a God a creator. Francis Collins the director of the Human genome project and one of the most knowledgeable men on the planet is a self professed evangelist. Please research before you post. Your making us old guys look bad,
@JstNEarthling Newton & Einstein had nothing to do with American propaganda. Its kind of silly to throw that in. It would be like me blaming an atheist scientist for the secular wars of the 20th century. A century not dominated by the Church but by secular doctrine. Atheist Stalin alone killed about 30 million. Fascism,Nazism,National Socialism,Communism, Imperialism 120 millions people died in this very short time period. That's more than all the religious wars in the last 3000 years.
Newton was born during the age of enlightenment but he was considered to be a deeply religious man, a Christian, Freemason & was also interested in Alchemy. Even the most secular historians agree. The first universities in Europe were started by the Church and they hired secular instructors to teach the principles of mathematics which is what we now call science. Its one thing to have been a closet case atheist, and another to be be so vocal about faith. He was even critical of Church dogma.
Legs or no legs you still wreak of the sin you squalor in. If you were mensch at all, you would pay respect & homage to the one and only God of the universe. And if you were any kind of shamus you would have found The Lord God by now at your ripe age. You seem to be a bitter man because of your physical problems. You probably blame God for the misfortune you have experienced in life. God is the only one to soften your hard heart sir.

@JstNEarthling What can I say...I am deeply sorry for my harsh words...please forgive me...who am I to judge you, Jesus Himself said,"If any of you are without sin you may cast the first stone!" Newton spent as much time in his life writing about the Bible and biblical themes as he did on science and math. In particular he wrote more on Biblical hermeneutics than the natural science he is remembered for today.
Newton said: "Atheism is so senseless & odious to mankind that it never had many professors."
@BattleshipTx what are you on mate? what has your first part got to do about the second part? btw it may interest you that Newton was the founder of the scientific method!
Just a question for you, what was your god concept doing before he did it lol really answer that and I may start believing ;-) All small minded idoits are obious whatever they call themselves, so you truly claim to know all that which is, has been and will ever be?
"it may interest you that Newton was the founder of the scientific method!"
Newton was a great scientist, just like many others Christians, e.g Lord Kelvin and others. Not saying he wasn't. He just also was a dedicated Christian who spent a lot of time studying the Bible and writing about it. he wasn't a fan of atheism.
"Just a question for you, what was your god concept doing before he did it "
By did it, do you mean creation? Have you read about angels? They appear to preexist that.
@BattleshipTx I have read many words of men, Just a question have these angels ever appeared to you? and if so how do you know they to be what they claimed to be? As for Atheism, are none all Christian atheist?
Are all who believe in the existrance of a Jesus Christ , Christians?
Are followers in there heart of the hebrew faith the same as outwardly displaying belief in Christianity?
Angels haven't appeared to me, but your question about what God was doing before he created our universe implied that the Judeo-Christian story was lacking in material for him to be busy. If you read it carefully it has many hints that he wasn't alone & was quite busy.
No despite word games by many atheists, I don't think any Christians are atheist. The word Christians was first used in Antioch to mean the followers of Jesus. That begs the question as to what must be done to be a follower.
@BattleshipTx All well and good, but 1 I have read those story books very well and as with all story buts they are open to the readers fantasy. 2, THEY ARE BOOK WRITTEN BY MAN! 3, do you still belive in father christmas, really think very carefully about that, just changing the name does not count.
btw, you misunderstood the question before, which was: "As for Atheism, are none all Christian atheist?
@BattleshipTx Well maybe yes and maybe no but certainly maybe, however do you put so much trust in the words and choice of men over time, I am not trying to insult your faith here, but question the politics of man that may be using peoples faith for their own ends.
One of the things many of us like about Jesus was the extent he made such an effort to avoid politics. Many at the time wanted him to lead a revolt, or say that you shouldn't pay taxes to Rome. Even today atheists criticize him for not leading a movement to free the slaves. Politics and political causes, no matter how noble, just weren't his mission here. Bad actors today can use anything for their own ends. That's why I stay away from church bureaucracies and just be a simple Christian.
@BattleshipTx Be that way you wish the world to be, I know that is a miss quote of Ghandi, the word Christ means Revolutionary but it is important to see that we all mush be our own personal revolution,
@BattleshipTx I am not as I think I have already said a believer in any made made God concept, I see that it would be rather limiting of that god if we where to claim it could be fitted into any human mind or a few books, all that said I was very impressed with some of the teachings found in some pages, but not all. Yours seems a healthy way to look at it.
"I see that it would be rather limiting of that god if we where to claim it could be fitted into any human mind or a few books"
Then you should be happy to know the Bible says the same thing. It is able to give us the barest glimpse of a small part of him. It is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."1Cor2:9
@BattleshipTx They are important to me too brother. I admire your strength in the faith. God bless you for not despising the good teachings of Jesus Christ. I would like to ask all atheist, "Is there anything wrong with the things Jesus Christ taught".
@elgalloprieto And you claim to know these teaching? Really, and I guess you claim to understand all of the stories in that collection of books, but it does seem that you have failed in understanding that of Job! Do you really think that you are as God?, does believing in some you don't really know prove that your belief is the right one? Before you can truely believe you must learn to truel doubt, even solomon failed in this according to the story, do you claim to be wiser?
Why put words in someone else's mouth? Where did anyone in these threads claim to be wiser than Solomon?
"And you claim to know these teaching?"
The Bible is there for anyone to read. Jesus teachings aren't particularly complex. Love god, love your neighbor, etc. It doesn't say anything about having to know everything perfectly, God is quite forgiving if you are trying. We learn more everyday as we study the Bible.
@BattleshipTx I am not putting words into anybodys mouth, I am responding to elgalloprieto comements to my, though be it over a few of his comements including those to you. But I would be interested in you view of the meaning of the story of Job, from a disgussion point of view.
@BattleshipTx As for being wiser than Solomon, who is said to have been very wise yet worshipped false gods, why did Wise Solomon make such an error? One must admit that based on the story he was not being so wise at that point was he? So it was false belief, or putting it another way, his misplaced belief that was the problem, nobody is perfect, and the more that one believes to be perfect the easier it is for them to be blind to their error.
@BrutusCass Let me try to put it another way, if I were to say that I believe that the woman who works in McD's is a good woman, yet I don't know her fulling and remember that truly knowing another human is impossible as most humans don't even know themselves, then my belief in knowing that woman would be foolish would it not?
I think that if you have known the woman for most of her life, seen her do many good works and never harm anyone, see her do good even when she doesn't know she is being observed, then to say you have no information about her would be foolish. Sure, she might be a carefully concealed serial killer, our human knowledge is never perfect, but you have some knowledge of her. It is foolish to claim that just because you don't have "perfect' knowledge that you have no knowledge.
Look at it this way: If a friend asks who they should let baby sit their children, this woman you have seen be good her whole life or a repeat sex offender just released from prison, would you say "I have no opinion"? Wouldn't you be doing your friend a great disservice by not sharing your knowledge, even if it is imperfect?
@BrutusCass Now as we can see there are many concepts of God, so for one to claim that they know God yet they have only search shallowly is also absurd, God must be far too complex for us to truly know, unless the god concept is some form of idol, so it is not wise to claim to fully know that which you can't in such a short human life form, or is it?
"God must be far too complex for us to truly know"
I don't think Christians would claim to fully know all about God, and it is equally absurd to claim a God doesn't exist or that we can't know anything of him when he is everywhere and his handiwork is so apparent.
@BattleshipTx The irony in all this is that there are various forms of Funementalism, that of the Theist and that of Science in it's extremist Atheist for, those that claim to have a theory for everything yet if they will be the first to admit that they don't know everything, (there would be no more science if the really knew everything)
@BattleshipTx All these Fundemental thinkers are missing one simple point, and that is to know, sciece though observation (this does not exclude a possilble god) and the True Theist through knowing god (this does not exclude science)
as you say ther is always more to learn, it is when you claim to know without study that mistakes are made.
@elgalloprieto Maybe I am not an Atheist, but I will answer your question, both yes and no, there is nothing wrong with it being taught as long as it is truly studied and the books are understood as being just that books writen by man, it becomes wrong when they words are used to teach ignorance, take Romans for example some say that verus 1:18 -1:31 only talk about sex!! when it clear talks about the worship of creations rather than a creator!
@BrutusCass Keep in mind that everything you have learned from school comes out of books written by men. So according to your logic, everything you learned from books is a lie, which is very ILLOGICAL.
@elgalloprieto Oh elgalloprieto I always and when I read them I bear that in mind believe me, and in a certain sense many things are simple lies to children, take the first story you are told as to how thge rainboow is formed, is it all the true the whole true and nothing but the true, go and talking to a university student of physic on the subject, if you want ILLOGIGAL then look no further than any simple explaination which lacks thought!
You act like you are a ph.d. so what is your profession? It seems like you prefer to debate against anything that you disagree on based on your numerous "opposition and debate" videos.Sounds like you got a helluva life ,you know since all you really do is argue over so many things.I am a scientist, I am a christian, science explains."what and how".but it is based on numerous theories which change like the tides, religion explains "why".

"it is when you claim to know without study that mistakes are made."
I agree with that, but see that theists and atheists are equally capable of claiming to know without study.

So according to your logic, everything you learned from books is a lie, which is very ILLOGICAL.
elgalloprieto 1 year ago
@elgalloprieto Oh elgalloprieto I always and when I read them I bear that in mind believe me, and in a certain sense many things are simple lies to children, take the first story you are told as to how thge rainboow is formed, is it all the true the whole true and nothing but the true, go and talking to a university student of physic on the subject, if you want ILLOGIGAL then look no further than any simple explaination which lacks thought!

You're asking "thewayofthemaster" if they understand something logical?
Noooo, you're not that crazy, you can't be ;p
