The scale at 0:05 and 0:18 is actually Phrygian Dominant. Yngwie rarely use the Harmonic Minor scale "just as it is". But he likes to use the Phrygian Dominant witch is the 5th mode of the Harmonic Minor scale (he also likes to use Prygian from the major scale). The example at 0:53 is not a diminished scale. It's a sequence of Diminished 7h arpeggios. I'm not trying to be a douche . I just don't want you to be taught the wrong thing.
@Uchiha3303 It's sort of an D# prygian dominant scale. It's decending over two octaves. The notes are: E, D#, C#, B, A#, G#, G, E, D#, C#, B, A#, G#, G
@AuronpeacemakerG harmonic minor scale comes from the natural minor scale. you can switch in between the two however you like but if you dont want a chromatic sound (no one does) then make sure that when you use the augmented 7th, dont use natural minor. its kinda hard to explain without a guitar in hand or a video
i don't know who this guy is but he's got a good feel and vibrato which is very important...he's loose and has that slippery feel and plays effortlessly which is key to Yngwie's style...again, good vibrato...
Thanks a lot for this video, but you missed one that I was hoping you would demonstrate. It's the scale he does on Far Beyond the Sun, which would be at 0:37 in the video you have up of you playing Far Beyond the Sun.
stevo4411 this fretboard is scalloped from the tenth fret. Maybe you have seen a parker guitar with a scalloped fretboard. Just in case you don't know, it helps you with bending the strings.
@rocktheintertubes94 yeah its all them charms Yngwie wars. All them gold things and the rolex man. Rolex gives you powers.... thts why they so damn expensive.
thats normal dude :) play chords with scaloped guitar is kinda "unusual" dont make "feel" good playing chords with scaloped neck (since the most chords used are before the 12 frets...) but some ppl dont care and do a full scallop instead of just scalop the "soloist" frets :P
Lol, dude, I've done two guitars with a dremel, file, and sandpaper, and it took me nearly six hours the second time. Doing it with just sandpaper would be ridiculously time consuming.
Nice playin'. It's fun playing that stuff even tho' it's so cheezy anymore. Your sound is pretty unusual, very clear, but almost hi-fi. Are those passive pickups?
Awesome! Killer Yngwie style vibrato!

@Krinkels ty so much :) it's more helpful knowing the notes not just the tabs to the scale so ty for helping me :)

Thank you for Diminished scale ex1 at 1:04 which inspired me to 6 notes per beat pattern starting on high E string:
E15, E12, B14, G15, G13, B12 repeat 2x
B15, G14, D12 sustain
you can use 100% economy picking for the entire phrase starting on down stroke
