Metal doesn`t need to melt before it collapses under pressure. Steel`s kind of funny that way (Not really in this case) in that like many solid materials it tends to weaken when heated. @Aarnid Allow me. The girders didn`t melt. Steel doesn`t melt with that temperature but it loses a shit-ton of it`s integrity at said temperature (What with jet fuel burning for a few hours). Combined with the shock of an airplane hitting the building, more than half the supports being taken out by said plane and half the building crushing down on a gaping hole it was a matter of time before the top half gave way...yay logic

95% of Shanksville flight wreckage was recovered, but were in small pieces. There are pictures of pieces of the fuselage scattered around the crash site. Look it up.

@bbsmjerk ok the twin towers were demolished they didn't fall because of the planes, the bottom floors of the bulidings were rigged to blow at 45 degree angles exactly how you would if u wanted to demolish the building safely. So now that that's said your saying that not only did al- Qaueda fly planes into the building but also in the weeks before the 9/11 they also sent a demolition team in there so as when the buildings fell it wouldn't hurt as many people simple logic with that evidence

All other steel buildings that had fires, no matter how big, did not collapse....and the towers were built a hell of a lot stronger than the others, they were more modern, designed better and had extra strength built into them partly because they were so tall So if you can name another building that fell like the WTC, do so. @johannisj Well that was the point. There have been some buildings hit by planes. My question was, when has a plane ever caused a skyscraper to collapse like that? Planes have caused fires, but never caused buildings to fall down like that. It's not jet fuel because most of the the jet fuel was gone when the explosion happened. It wouldn't have been hot enough to melt that kind of steel anyway. I know the Empire State Building was hit by a plane and it didn't fall the the Twin Towers.
@Yabuturtle One crucial thing you're leaving out is the fact that most of the protective coatings against fire in the WTC buildings were damaged or stripped when a massive plane flew through the middle of the buildings. For future reference, you may want to take note that fully loaded airliners ramming into buildings tend to have negative effects on their structural integrity. @Aarnid Allow me. The girders didn`t melt. Steel doesn`t melt with that temperature but it loses a shit-ton of it`s integrity at said temperature (What with jet fuel burning for a few hours). Combined with the shock of an airplane hitting the building, more than half the supports being taken out by said plane and half the building crushing down on a gaping hole it was a matter of time before the top half gave way...yay logic

95% of Shanksville flight wreckage was recovered, but were in small pieces. There are pictures of pieces of the fuselage scattered around the crash site. Look it up.

If anything, the fact that there haven't been attacks since then shows that they are not capable of doing attacks on there own. If al queda really pulled off 911 by themselves, they would easily be able to take down another plane. but they haven't. There were 400 connecting bolts per floor in building 7. You would need around 50,000,000 pounds of force per second to sever all the connections according to NIST's "progressive collapse" theory. @lascienvacas In the history of the WORLD there are only 3 STEEL buildings that "collapsed due to fire"...the twin towers and building 7. All other steel buildings that had fires, no matter how big, did not collapse....and the towers were built a hell of a lot stronger than the others, they were more modern, designed better and had extra strength built into them partly because they were so tall So if you can name another building that fell like the WTC, do so. Otherwise, shut up.

@johannisj Well that was the point. There have been some buildings hit by planes. My question was, when has a plane ever caused a skyscraper to collapse like that? Planes have caused fires, but never caused buildings to fall down like that. It's not jet fuel because most of the the jet fuel was gone when the explosion happened. It wouldn't have been hot enough to melt that kind of steel anyway. I know the Empire State Building was hit by a plane and it didn't fall the the Twin Towers.

@Yabuturtle One crucial thing you're leaving out is the fact that most of the protective coatings against fire in the WTC buildings were damaged or stripped when a massive plane flew through the middle of the buildings. For future reference, you may want to take note that fully loaded airliners ramming into buildings tend to have negative effects on their structural integrity. Secondly, for building 7 I recommend you watch Edward Current's "Building 7 Explained" video on youtube.
