if you don't tie the new color yarn to the original yarn, won't the yarn unravel?

This was a good video, but how would I go back to Color A if I wanted to do stripes for example? Would I just cut the yarn and crochet in the tail whenever I switched from Color A to Color B and vice versa?

wow i learned to knit i knitted a bandana for my daughters stuff animal. it was going to be a blanket but it turned out horrible so now its a bandana. funny really

Thank you so much. I was just going to start a pattern which required I change colors and this is really helpful. ^^

I do have one related question, though: I've seen some color-changing patterns that ask you to carry the other color yarn as you knit. What exactly does that mean? Does it require that I do something special?

it sounds like you would knit with both at the same time. Ughh! How complicated. LOL
