  • And its hell when they go down on a slippery surface! oh my days good video though :D

  • Cows don't need farmers to abuse them.

The breed has been sickened by the way you treat them.

These things don't happen in the wild.

  • if you do it wrong it will explode their heart , as their heart rate should go up and they will belch normally

as she said a heart attack lol ideal conditions you put it in their juggular , but can also be put in the milk vein

  • it is preventable, this should never happen, you change the cow's diet pre-calving.

  • @zacharymullin it isn't always preventable

  • do u use only calcium? we use a bottle of calcium and a half bottle of dextros and we al so put some under the skin

  • @johndeeregreen9987 isnt the dextrose more for ketosis then? it isnt totally necessary when a cow has milk fever.

  • today i got the mail, saw the "Iowa soybean review" magazine, open up to 4th page and there you were !!! hahaha i was like "Hey that looks kinda like....oh HEY it IS her !!!" hahaha good job:)

  • Great job farmgirl! :) Keep up the good work!

  • Great job!

  • your maternaty pen is not on the home farm?

  • poor jersey

  • Well done!

  • Excellent video on how farmers care for their cows keep up the good work!!!

  • Thank you for the interesting, good, and informative video.

  • We use 23% calcium, so we can put the fluid in alittle fast then 20 minutes, plus the 23% can also be put under the skin. Great job with this video!

  • great example of how hard farmers work to care for their animals and keep them healthy, comfortable, and productive so we can feed the world

  • Very rare for us to have a milk fever.

  • Well done . I can treat cows with milk fever fine if I see them have the staggers shakey standing by giving them calcium under the skin .If they have gone down like yours had I can never find the vein so I just get the veteinarian

  • Two thumbs up!

  • Yeah.. I had 9 cows that got milk fever this year. The first 2 died before I could do anything (got this overnight and were dead before morning chores), but the rest had it during the day when I was out there and could see something was wrong/fix it. You're right, it's amazing what calcium can do!!

  • Good job. Nice that you were there so fast and had the calcium on hand.

  • Thanks for sharring
