awsome...great with the deep bass beat. would make a brilliant dance track this if someone mixed it. i love simple minds...i love this track...infact i love everything!
It still gives me goosebumps when I see this I've seen Simple Minds play live many, many times over the years and New Gold Dream has never been performed/played better than this concert at the gardens.
What a gig this was at the Gardens, this was the greatest track of the evening. I've seen the Minds many times live and I've never ever heard New Gold Dream played like this - it was like a Celtic Irish jig and Jim Kerr looked like he was really enjoying himself. Can't wait till the 18th of July when Janice & I will see them at the Castle and then the 11th of December we will be there at the SECC- FORMIDABLE!
Utah Saints did a techno remix version back around 1992 - when I heard it my reaction was "holy crap!! this is amazing".. the song has haunted me ever since. Cheers for posting this. :D
I had a very delayed college graduation in 1980 and this man Kerr totally is correct- I spent a ton of time the next four years in the clubs (yeal I thought I'd design a club but really the scene was so mesmerizing you can't understand today) basically ruining my late blooming (supposed-to-be) architectural career astounded by the phenomenal music of EXACTLY the years described by this Neo-Catholic Scot.
From your POV I must have been standing on the steps near you. What a night!! They seemed hungry again in a way I hadn't seen them for over a dozen years.
Seen them about 50 times, when they where giggin in Edinburgh in 76 Chelsea Girl the lot, eyemake up and slash neck jerseys the lot. winkle pickers and a wiznae gay. scotland s No 1 ye haw ya baw bags

These guys are legends!

They have not yet been given full recognition for what they did. At the time it was Human League and Duran Duran taking all the attention.
I saw all three live.
2 were probably the worst concerts I have ever seen and the other being one of the best.
Yes, they are legends indeed.
