We saw this prick last night. He has no right to take our money and them ram his unwanted views down our throats. Oh, by the way, did you know he is an "avid hunter"? Did you liberals know that??
To all the right wingers who posted here: How do you like it now that the Democrats have reganed control of the Congress? It looks like Roger Waters got his way after all! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!
This video does not show what happened next- on the ass end of the pig was written "impeach Bush now". The crowd began cheering so loudly you couldn't hear the music. Then something happened and the pink pig floated away, headed for San Francisco.
Roger is just being Roger. If you don't like it, maybe you can go see Britney Spears when she's through having 11 kids. I'm sure she'll have kinder words for yer fearless leader.

good comment by above poster: a socialist + rock and roll industry? what is wrong with this picture?!! and isn't this the grand contradiction of the entire entertainment industry: they claim to be liberal, socialist, progressive and they're all elitst rich people.
And lets not forget $55 for a hooded tea shirt. I love the music and enjoyed the show. But why do I feel something is out of place with those prices? You think the troops coming home from Iraq could afford to see show at those prices...
The government is a representation of the people. The jerks in Congress seem to have no problems voting for their own raises. The political discussions have to stop. It should be about the music.
i do think it's a bit tacky of Waters to be shoving in-your-face political campaigning messages at a live rock show. the music is enough, and we've known for years his political leanings. i'm a fan, indeed, but i think it's juvenile and tasteless of him to promote the democratic party. again, i can overlook it. but then again, rock and roll is juvenile and appeals to the perpetual adolescent mindset. sad but true. but then it wouldn't be rock and roll, i guess.
Waters is a socialist who charges $175/ticket. During his Floyd tenure political overtones were less in your face and creative. Solo music is a less popular explaining why only 2 songs were played. Stoners didn't realize that the flying pig told New Yorkers to vote Democrat on Nov 2nd. All those voting Democrat do come out on Nov 2nd and cast your vote, while the rest of us will cast our vote on Election Day. Support our troops, war against Islamic fascists, and support Dick & Bush
You are a blind fool if you don't see what kind of damage the pigs and dogs bush, cheney, rumsfeld and that jackal rice have done to our country.
Rupublicans and the sheep that follow them need to be led to the slaughterhouse unless we wish to live in a fascist charade surrogate shell of a country painted with red white and blue stripes.
Keep on sipping that koolaid, you proud patriot, you! Take your support for the troops one step further and make your way to the nearest Army Recruiter. Uncle Sam will thank you. And by all means, carry on in your support of dick, bush, and the party of crooks, liars, and pedophiles.
Anyone wonder why music has become piss-slop garbage since BUSH came to office? Is it a mystery why Britney Spears and Ashlee Simpson are todays rock stars? GOP official list of blacklisted bands: Crosby Stills Nash and Young Simon and Garfunkel The Beatles The Grateful Dead The Rolling Stones Bob Dylan Jefferson Airplane Black Sabbath Pink Floyd Frank Zappa
I don't know what the big deal is anyway. Advocating kindness towards other human beings hardly seems to be a sentiment worthy of such disdain and hatred. The whole point of 'Leaving Beirut' was to promote empathy for a group of people who have been villified. Surely not every single individual in that group is as evil as right wing conservatives would have us believe.
JESUS CHRIST- THIS IS PATHETIC...this is like people going to see ozzy and complaining that he sang heavy metal music...
PINK FLOYD IS A VEY POLITICAL BAND, more than most...if people did not expect that, then they obviously knew NOTHING about the band or its history...How did people forget that the only people who were into this band were stoners and trippers?? In the 70's if you said you were into floyd, it was like admitting you took acid.
Roger is an Egotistical, Nasty, Son-of-a-B*&^h.. I always preferred Gilmour. AND.. Waters is now touring doing Dark Side Live which the rest of PF already did 10 years ago Without him! LOL
I'd like to see hime tour with 'The Wall', but sadly that's about as unlikely as the band getting back together and touring. I watched 'The Wall: Live in Berlin' when I got home after the show last friday and despite the flaws inherent in such a gigantic production, it is absolutely amazing.
Who doesn't hate war? War is unpopular, as the media loves to note these days "an increasing unpopular war" as a means of taking shots at the administration. However unpopular war is it is necessary. Are rape and cancer popular? I think the whole positioning by the media is a cute ploy to create divisiveness between the unenlightened who resort to name calling and political posturing.
OMG! Someone realized that people should think about hearing the source of opinions before judgement! Not just blindly voting for 'your' party, but actually *thinking* before voting!
Who gives half a damn what some gray haired druggie burnout rockstar thinks anyway? Enjoy the music, and consider the source when it comes to the lyrics.
"Google it, I'm not going to do your homework for you." What are you my teacher? Here's a lesson for you, when you make a claim you need to back it up.
Those complaining would enjoy David Gilmour's show much more.In my opinion the bite to most of Floyd's well-known lyrics from albums released in the mid-late seventies are totally missing from DG's shows.Only Roger can really drive the points behind HIS songs home in concert, and make you actually feel something.Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but are NOT true Floyd fans, in my mind, if you didn't know what to expect. What did you think "Sheep" is about?
If you are mad at RW voicing his opinion at his concert, why do you feel free to voice your opinion on a video clip of the very same concert? You are using RW's audience to make your opinion heard. At least he uses his own audience, who should know what he's about.
Google it, I'm not going to do your homework for you. I've read quite a bit about Blair and other goings on in the UK that are written locally in the US.
So, You've read quite a bit, but cant recall any of it. And you dont want to spend any time supporting your statement on Google? Hey You, Is there anybody out there?
Whoever comes from the US and knocks our government are generally met with nods and approval. We accept the fact that all governments are lying C**ks*ckers and that they will say anything to placate the sheeplike masses and to get them emotionally charged enough to follow their agendas.
I am a huge fan and was at the NYC show. This was beyond his usual anti-government, anti-establishment rhetoric. He came here and trashed our govt, the people and the country. It was more than just the bush-bashing pig. I took exception to it as a proud American. There were many people who stood up and booed.
Never heard this type of verbal diahrrea associated with Roger Waters. But if he subjects his crowd to this, he doesn't deserve them. Whenever celebrities do this they cut out 50% of the crowd. Like Springsteen's "nosedive concert" during the 2004 election. Anybody ever question what this meglomaniac is saying? Or are you just lemmings?
What verbal diahrrea are you referring to exactly? As you can see, it was a big inflatable pig with words spray painted on its ass, not an hour long diatribe onstage about his personal political views. The only verbal references to anything political were in his lyrics, which is nothing new. "The Fletcher Memorial Home" came out 23 years ago.
So you're saying that he didn't juxtapose pictures of the President, Karl Rove, Ronald Reagan, and Margaret Thatcher with pictures of Osama bin Laden, Mao Zedong, Stalin, etc? You're full of shit. And badbobbrady, you're full of shit, too. Some people don't fold like a cheap camera. We leave that liberals, Democrats, and the French.
Come on now, we know ALL politicians can be juxtaposed together with any other political person in any time of history. We can argue the good and the bad, but it's all the same - some group of people helped get those people in power to do the great things they did - and whether those great things were good or evil is what's debated.
The juxtaposition of those photographs were part of a video montage during the song I mentioned in my previous post, "The Fletcher Memorial Home". If you had any idea what you were talking about, you would be quite aware that the album which that song comes from, 'The Final Cut', was an anti-war concept album that condemned Thatcher and Reagan. And was, as I mentioned, released 23 years ago. Nothing new here.
what do you expect from the gop frat boy sheep? They are the assholes drunk off their asses screaming their heads off and not hearing a word unless it smacks of intelligence- when free thought reaches their simian brans, the manchurian candidate style brainwashing kicks in and they get an image of ann coulter, get erect, realize she is a man, and get angry at the world.
Let the leftists march in their parades, proscelytize their dellusional utopian lie, and wallow in their insecurity driven elitism, they will fail as they have ever since Marx wrote their bible because they are cowards. "You gonna bark all day little doggy or are you going to bite." Of course you won't bite because you are fucking cowards.
people like you need to understand that just spouting a bunch of crap doesn't provide any valid points. if you keep saying things like that, you're going to get torn up every time.
i'd just like to point out that the majority of you have arguments that suggest you have a few extra chromosomes. there has been pretty shitty debating on both sides sans a select few of you.
Hey zrichards, why do you insist on flaming me in a personal message instead of on this public forum? Are you afraid of being owned? In responding to your brilliant comment and in defying your request to refrain from posting on this board (real free thinker you are) I say this to you: May all your female relatives be raped and beheaded by the same Islamofacists your and your fellow Clintonistas like to coddle and protect.
I don't think they have a right to use the stage as a podium for their uninformed political views. We bestow celebrityhood on these people, not for their politcal rants but for the entertainment. Everyone that uses the stage as a podium crashes and burns because the people don't like it. The same will happen with this has been.
It's their show, they can include anything they want in their show, there are no rules on how to put on a concert, it's up to the artist. If you don't like it, don't buy the fucking ticket, let it go to someone who will enjoy the show and have a good time.
Just excercising my freedom of speech and choice. I choose to speak out when assholes knock my country and withhold my money when these same assholes use the celebrityhood that we give them to spout their venom.
Yes he is, and he should direct it to his wife or someone that cares, not the captured audience that came for the music. He's an asshole, don't you get it?
People who go to a Roger Waters show (should) know that he's politically minded and completely unabashed about voicing his opinion. He's been this way for decades (ever heard 'The Final Cut'?). If they don't want to hear it, then they should take that into consideration when deciding whether or not to go to the show. This is not some secret ploy that he's suddenly launched on an unsuspecting public. don't you get it?
Captured audience? Did they put bars over the exits?
If you didn't liek it, get your money back.
They have a podiuum to speak to a mass audience and make them think. They can agree or disagree. He didn't say 'agree or die' or 'agree or you're a terrorist.' He expressed his opinion. If you stayed for the show, you fell into the media trap - pay and stay. Otherwise, voice your opinion, walk out, and get your money back.
I'll refer back to the guy behind me who booed and chanted "USA! USA!" after "Leaving Beirut", then promptly yelled "Woo! Yeah, alright Roger!" when "Sheep" started.
Waters' views haven't changed much in, well, forever. While I cringe when a musician uses the stage as a podium, I support their right to do so, be it Natalie Maines making a political comment, Eddie Vedder trouncing up and down on a Dubya mask, or RW putting Bush's name on a pig's butt.
Politics don't influence my entertainment dollar. If they did, I wouldn't own "Harvest".
Roger Waters is a washed up has been, one of the crowd that posed as peaceful in the 60's Anti-War crowd, when his type were just chicken shit. 2.5 million Cambodians and Vietnamese died because of the low life, anti-war crowd. But they won't talk about that! The day I need celebrity to tell me how to vote, please shoot me. Most of them are just drop-outs.
But, he's a "washed up has-been" you went to see and felt the need to rant about, and sold out many shows.I may be uninformed on the topic, but how did anti-war protesters cause deaths in Vietnam or Cambodia?I've never heard that statement made before.I am quite curious, and open-minded.
Roger Waters needs a little fame since he hasn't been heard from in 30 years. Yes Rog Bin Laden is an enemy of mine. I used to like Pink Floyd and Waters but I never knew he voted for either side. And since when does a Englishman tell me as an American how to vote. Piss off. It won't be dark on the moon cause I am starting a boycott of Anything he's tied to and his cds will make good kindling.
Way to stick it to him! I bet he's sure gonna miss those royalties he got from you buying all those albums when they burn along with your cds. Oh wait, that's right, he gets to keep the money.
right on fool, give him your money then destroy what you bought! that'll show him!
Wow, the wingnuts are peeing their pants over this (did Drudge tell you to check this out and dribble your disapproval?)
Guess what geniuses, they have been anti-Bush for a while. Heck on TV last night they were playing a old Floyd concert and when Brain Damage (from Dark Side) came on they played a graphic of Thatcher walking with that other Bush.
I was particularly fond of the guy behind me at the show that booed passionately and chanted "USA! USA!" after 'Leaving Beirut', then when 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' started, he promptly stopped his chanting and yelled "Yeah, alright Roger!"
That's because Drudge and likely the other mewling radioheads on AM hadn't told him yet that he must hate Roger Waters... and buy all his albums then burn them...
Why? Please say it's not because you *always* vote republican, or your parents did, or it's your 'party' or whatever. Please tell me you actually research your vote.
None of these things influance me. I am a moderate and this election is about Iraq (to me) I asked myself "Should Bush have taken us to war? If yes vote (R) if no vote (D)" Not to mention record deficits and failure to acomplish anything he's taken on EG Social Security reform, Immigration, Now a lot of that is not all his fault but I expect my President to be able to get stuff done. I just hope the dems don't screw up the power I yield to them.
In a typical election yes. This election again (to me) is about restoring a check and balance back in gov. No laundry list of pros and cons will compell me to vote (R) this time around. We're at war and it's being poorly managed by the republicans. That issue (to me) trumps anything.
Roger Waters is a courageous visionary who has been consistent from the beginning in his rants against the people in grey, i.e the military-industrial complexes of the West and Big Brother and I say he is a hero of our time.
The problem is two fold, first he is a musician artist and should stick to playing his music and stay out of politics. Rember the dixie chicks? And second, he is a god damn brit who has no more idea of what the democratic party stands for in the US than US citizens do of british parliment.
Let's see, the Dixie Chicks said they didn't like George Bush. That's fucking political? Oh wait, it's because they're from Texas, and they got shunned for it, so therefore, people listened to what they said and disagreed, validating their opinions.
Roger Waters says get off your ass and vote, and suddenly he's bashing? Fuck you twits, go read something other then American media, then come back and talk about who has an idea about what.
I don't see Waters running for political office, but just telling people to go out and vote is getting people talking, showing it's a success.
How bout you tools go be the tool and go vote on the only two parties you care about? Democrats and Republicans, because I know you *don't really want to* yet *you don't want to throw your vote away on any other candidate.*
Vote for Tool #1 or Tool #2, or take a chance and vote on someone who isn't being funded by the same groups of businesses.
Didja know Roger W walked out on his wife, son and daughter to shack up with a fan back in the 90's? Kids took it hard sank pretty low. Self-absorbed POS really really messed things up.
And what exactly does his personal life have to do with the discussion at hand? Getting into some good old fashioned dirt-digging to cover up the fact that you have nothing of value to say?
Were you actually at the show? Of course not. If you were, you'd know that the sound was absolutely amazing and the band was 100% on point. Not to mention the superawesome 360 degree surround sound system he has set up.
Yeah, you would have remembered all of that stuff if you had any idea what you were talking about.
I still consider the music of Waters/Gilmour to be brilliant, but his political rants are a huge dissapointment. I hope he doesn't become the next expert on matters of nuclear proliferation and political science like Sean Penn and Rosie O'Donnell.
And these guys got the peace sign wrong... they created the Mercedes insignia, which is just another sign of ignorance
I wonder if these guys ever stop to consider how disappointed some of their fans become after seeing their partisan histrionics. Just look at the message on the pig... Don't be led to the slaughter - vote democrat Nov 2.
I thought Republicans were the "fearmongerers" who frighten little old ladies with images of 911.
Hey Dave - if I was stupid enough to go to Dixie Chicks, Id' get what I paid for. Also, Waters' new tune "Leaving Beirut" was a joke of naive, pro-Arab sentiment, but I didn't jump on you tube to rant about it. I can listen to both sides. Can you?
Pink floyd is one of the most political bands of the last 40 years. Anyone eho is surprised byu this should not be seeing either pink flody or waters..EVERY SINGLE FLOYD/WATERS album is political. YOu people are the biggest fools I have ever heard of...its like going to a Slayer concert and complaining they sang about SATAN!!
Animals, inspired by George Orwell's Animal Farm and the Wall, about his own life, were conceptually political but nothing like what he is doing now. Meddle, Ummagumma, Dark Side, Wish you Were Here, etc... - not political. I went to hear music (which was awesome!) and heard lots of Hate America propoganda.
Are you all just going to completely ignore 'The Final Cut'? I've mentioned it numerous times. And are you trying to tell me that 'Animal Farm' isn't political?
Hey You, I'm just responding to the guy who said EVERY SINGLE FLOYD/WATERS album was political. I just pointed out that some weren't. Of course the Final Cut was and I did acknowledge Animals and the Wall were conceptual political albums. The stuff I heard this time was a direct attack against America and Isreal.
I heard no attack against America, I heard a celebration of many good things about America, a speculation that our "leaders" may not exactly be doing things in our best interest, and a plea that we not all blindly follow them like sheep to the slaughter.
And might I add that he has chosen to play "Bring The Boys Back Home" as an encore. Do you consider this anti-American? Is this not a sentiment you have all shared?
I didn't hear "Hate America",not once.He disagrees with the steps our leaders have taken, and would like to see others, with diff views,in power. And,in general,he'd like to see the world's people rise above the base animality of war."Surely a sensible solution can be applied"
Anyone who goes to a Roger Waters or Neil Young show and doesn't recognize the lyrics as political are simply idiots. Sample from 'Wish you were Here':
"And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?"
Undoubtedly the brain behind the second-most important band in hsitory, Roger Waters has the uncanny ability to poke the eyes out of mindless lemmings who know no better than to follow their ersatz leaders to the unholy ground of self-righteous aggression. Busheep, all of you, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for letting this silver-spoon cowboy nad his feckless ranch hands play you for suckers. Sing out, Riger. We're with you. - Sambo Hux
Pink Floyd needs Roger Waters thank god Roger doesn't need them. Why do we get so upset when there's a message in the music? Open your eyes and your ears. There were political messages in the Final Cut. If you don't like the messenger or the message don't go to the show.
So, I guess all you Bush-bots are throwing away all your Floyd CDs now? BTW, it is GLIMOUR who won't reunite. But I suppose that's the GOP norm - complain with no info, or just plain LIE.
I saw this show in NYC and, while Waters' political stance is up to the listener, he is 62 YEARS OLD + STILL played for a solid 3 hours. He hit all the top notes, too. No "charade" there. BTW, rock n roll was FOUNDED ON REBELLION. Oh, but I guess people are just supposed to shut up for Bush?
hey dougie...would you like it if you went to a dixie chicks concert at the start of the war, and they supported bush? would you like it if they were pro america? probably not. it's about entertainment. not politics.
you're as ignorant as Bush. waters and floyd are about politics not entertainment. HAVE YOU EVER EVEN HEARD THE WALL???? That's what its about...fools like you!
Liking music has nothign to do with the performer's political tastes. If I'm not a fan, I may not listen to their music, but I may support their opinions.
Opinions sell newspapers, good music sells concert tickets.
No wonder no one likes this arrogant moron know as Roger Waters. This fool goes to Israel with his private jet and security and tells them to stop building the security wall then he jumps back on his jet and flies to his safe big house in the USA!
This hypocrite could not even get along with his band members for the past 30 years.
I'm really glad Waters hasn't reunited permanently with the remaining pink floyd members. He had to rely on david gilmour make his warped ideas musically palettable.
I don't know why artists insist on taking political stands in front of people who've PAID to see and hear a rock n' roll show. He will get critical acclaim from the press and the critics for this type of activity, but the cost will be alienating a segment of his fans. I'll be forwarding this to all the pink floyd fans I know of.
The bleeding hearts and the artists make their stand.
Oh well, fuck 'em. Dems will LOSE yet another election, and rightly so. And with all apologies to Roger Waters, I fail to see why I should give a flying FUCK who he wants me to vote for.
(Six months hence, I received the following e-mail message from Drudge, under the subject heading "XXX." Drudge wrote: "Laura [Ingraham] spreading stuff about you and me being fuck buddies. I should only be so lucky. ")
Drudge picked me up at a friend's house in the Hollywood Hills in his red Geo Metro, arriving with an impressive bouquet of yellow roses. Jesus, I thought, Drudge thinks we're going on a date. After dinner at the famed West Hollywood restaurant Dan Tana's, he suggested we go bar hopping along the gay strip on Santa Monica Boulevard, which Drudge navigated like a pro. ...
Why do so many people want their entertainers to discuss politics and their politicians to be entertaining? I hope they are getting their information from more sources than just musicians, actors, and comedians.
PS. Roger Waters is not Pink Floyd. He is an arrogant prick who refuses to reunite with David Gilmore and company because of his selfish and childish need to be a rebel. RIP Syd Barrett. God knows what a prick you had to work with in Roger Waters.
Great! Another opinionated show biz jerkoff spouting his left wing, anti American, socialist drivel to the braindead masses. Hey Roger, why don't you focus on that miserable old hag and her sick dysfunctional brood in Buckingham Palace who could'nt give a rats ass about the common man or mankind for that matter. Stick to entertainment, limey jackoff!
While the limos sit with their engines running for hours, the nice spread of food and drinks sits backstage, Roger tries to convince people that we are the oppressed. He's a spoiled brat and a shame on us all. Whose just another Brick in the Wall...Could it be his cliche mindless mush heads, staring at laser lights, photos of GWB as the terrorist listening to the trace of melodic notes. I love Floyd but give me a break..."freedom of speech" He got one of the biggest Mic's around
So um... if you're rich and live a luxurious lifestyle, that means you must side with the president and aren't allowed to side with the common man? Please.
It's funny how the lefties advocate freedom of speech only when it doesn't infringe upon shrill, socialist ideologies. Listen here putz boy, it's one thing for Hollywood dickwads like Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and Al Franken to spout their shit about the US governement and play footsie with Al Qaeda, but we don't need a spoiled, rich limey malcontenet coming in our backyard and charging people to hear him flap his ugly British gums about it.
Why is someone who is not even a a US citizen telling me how to vote? I don't even like Americans telling me how to vote, why am I going to listen to some over indulged British "wanker?"
Some of us rely on people's opinons to suggest how we should vote rather than solely on their nationality. Being American doesn't automatically mean you are more knowledgable about American political matters. You might as well say that in WW2 Americans had no right to criticize the Nazis because they're Americans and not Germans.
We saw this prick last night. He has no right to take our money and them ram his unwanted views down our throats. Oh, by the way, did you know he is an "avid hunter"? Did you liberals know that??

Those complaining would enjoy David Gilmour's show much more.In my opinion the bite to most of Floyd's well-known lyrics from albums released in the mid-late seventies are totally missing from DG's shows.Only Roger can really drive the points behind HIS songs home in concert, and make you actually feel something.Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but are NOT true Floyd fans, in my mind, if you didn't know what to expect. What did you think "Sheep" is about?

SickofCelebrities 5 years ago
What verbal diahrrea are you referring to exactly? As you can see, it was a big inflatable pig with words spray painted on its ass, not an hour long diatribe onstage about his personal political views. The only verbal references to anything political were in his lyrics, which is nothing new. "The Fletcher Memorial Home" came out 23 years ago.
BNRVLN 5 years ago
So you're saying that he didn't juxtapose pictures of the President, Karl Rove, Ronald Reagan, and Margaret Thatcher with pictures of Osama bin Laden, Mao Zedong, Stalin, etc? You're full of shit. And badbobbrady, you're full of shit, too. Some people don't fold like a cheap camera. We leave that liberals, Democrats, and the French.
SickofCelebrities 5 years ago
Come on now, we know ALL politicians can be juxtaposed together with any other political person in any time of history. We can argue the good and the bad, but it's all the same - some group of people helped get those people in power to do the great things they did - and whether those great things were good or evil is what's debated.
knightrojen 5 years ago
The juxtaposition of those photographs were part of a video montage during the song I mentioned in my previous post, "The Fletcher Memorial Home". If you had any idea what you were talking about, you would be quite aware that the album which that song comes from, 'The Final Cut', was an anti-war concept album that condemned Thatcher and Reagan. And was, as I mentioned, released 23 years ago. Nothing new here.
BNRVLN 5 years ago
If you're going to accuse someone of having verbal diahrrea, perhaps you should consider not falling victim to the same affliction yourself.

People who go to a Roger Waters show (should) know that he's politically minded and completely unabashed about voicing his opinion. He's been this way for decades (ever heard 'The Final Cut'?). This is not some secret ploy that he's suddenly launched on an unsuspecting public. don't you get it?

skunzwei 5 years ago
um, 'Animals' was in fact.
BNRVLN 5 years ago
Animals, inspired by George Orwell's Animal Farm and the Wall, about his own life, were conceptually political but nothing like what he is doing now. Meddle, Ummagumma, Dark Side, Wish you Were Here, etc... - not political. I went to hear music (which was awesome!) and heard lots of Hate America propoganda.
skunzwei 5 years ago
Are you all just going to completely ignore 'The Final Cut'? I've mentioned it numerous times. And are you trying to tell me that 'Animal Farm' isn't political?
BNRVLN 5 years ago
Hey You, I'm just responding to the guy who said EVERY SINGLE FLOYD/WATERS album was political. I just pointed out that some weren't. Of course the Final Cut was and I did acknowledge Animals and the Wall were conceptual political albums. The stuff I heard this time was a direct attack against America and Isreal.
skunzwei 5 years ago
I heard no attack against America, I heard a celebration of many good things about America, a speculation that our "leaders" may not exactly be doing things in our best interest, and a plea that we not all blindly follow them like sheep to the slaughter.

mikeydamurph 5 years ago
Anyone who goes to a Roger Waters or Neil Young show and doesn't recognize the lyrics as political are simply idiots. Sample from 'Wish you were Here':
"And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?

Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?"

So um... if you're rich and live a luxurious lifestyle, that means you must side with the president and aren't allowed to side with the common man? Please.

It's funny how the lefties advocate freedom of speech only when it doesn't infringe upon shrill, socialist ideologies. Listen here putz boy, it's one thing for Hollywood dickwads like Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and Al Franken to spout their shit about the US governement and play footsie with Al Qaeda, but we don't need a spoiled, rich limey malcontenet coming in our backyard and charging people to hear him flap his ugly British gums about it.

good thing you didn't come to the show then, more seats for the real fans.

How about dickwads like Colin Powell and John McCain and Lindsay Graham and John Warner? Seems they are pretty fed up with Jorge, too.
