@11033066099 yea in karate they r alot of technuiques u wont see in competitions :throws, elbowstrikes(empi's)kneestrikes, headbuts, attacks to the groin, launching fingers into the throat, there is something called senior karate or street karate it is rarely taught due to d nature of these techniques(deadly)ask a blak belt hee should tell u more ,im just a yellow belt

@hsh31 He's not God, he's junior Lefevre from belgium, world and european champion of World Karate Federation (not for Belgium but for Croatia). If someone doubts about his techniques and his Budo, look at him on Kata, he practiced years (and won every titles) before kumité.
Quant aux questions sur l'efficacité... je ne m'inquiéte pas pour la sienne en tout cas !
@jathon1995 Dance step? LOL...yea right.. although its different, its effective. This is the WKA (European Karate ) They use a lot of bouncing back and forth very explosively. The Blond gent is a world class karateka. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of one of his oi-zuki. (the bouncing back and forth generates serious momentum) yet.... IMO I don't care for it also. I think it might be easier to read the opponent.
He's matching rhythm so that when he strikes forward with the gyaku, his opponent is on a downbeat, i.e. putting his weight down through the floor making it harder for him to dodge the attack.
Watch as the attacker stretches in with the gyaku - his opponent's weight is coming forward and down thus making him less mobile and open for the attack.
Respond to this video... @Philmoscowitz this is sport karate...I would call it ballet bcs it is not karate....they are just losing energy on their bouncing.....karateka must be with whole his weight on the ground....bcs punching energu comes from the ground...sport karate will never help you!!! OSU!!!....look this video it is traditional fudokan..short kumite(type ont youtube this and look at first video): MP 2008 szybko i ładnie

What's up with this bouncing back and forth? Far from the original karate IMO.

@11033066099 of course if you hope in your kicks you loose! but if you focus your techniques on punches and some throwing it's better...

why does he match his opponent's bouncing rhythm?
Philmoscowitz 3 years ago 12
it's just a "teaching vid". Easier to learn if it's easy to see how the technique is xD Maybe that's why he match his opponents bouncing rythm
