If you look at the reputable testers instead the ford testers, the Chevy testers, or any other biased testers you will find that the Tundra is the best truck for towing performance, the Nissan Titan is the Best offroad, the 6.2L chevy is the best unloaded fast truck, and the Ford, Dodge are great for well Im not sure because all the trucks have there Luxury versions. So the best truck well depends on what your looking for. But Ford, or Honda should not be your list.

Why do they keep using the same displacement engine as American rides? First the got the 5.7 from Chevy and now the 4.6 from Ford. Both of which have been put aside by their original American creator's for bigger displacement engines.
@Motorfordtoyota Not really, the 4.6 in the 2010 Mustangs make 315 hp while the Toyota one makes 310 hp. And Ford is replacing the 4.6L V8 with a 5.0L V8 this year, which will put out over 400 hp. And they will be coming out with a new 3.7L V6 too, which puts out 305 hp and still gets 31 mpg.
@Motorfordtoyota Also, Ford supercharged the 4.6L in 2003 and put out 390 hp with it. And due to the forged internals that came from the factory with the supercharged 4.6, you could easily put out well over 500 hp by changing the exhaust and intake, installing a bigger supercharger, and getting a tune. And with those forged internals, you wouldn't have to worry about throwing a rod or something even producing well over the factory hp.

juggernautxtr, what i do know is taking a brand new ford pick up back to the dealer for a compressor and they never fixed it! A relay that burned up two fuel pumps and all they did was tell me what the warranty covers and dont, etc, etc, etc. BTW, my Tundra has 245k and no problems. Take Care!

I own an '08 Tundra 4x4 Double Cab (not TRD) And I've beat Silverado's, Fords, Dodges. I can't say enough about how great my truck is. Everyone makes fun of it, but when it comes time to go somewhere they all want to ride in the Yota.
How can you say you "Beat" Silverado's, Fords? Beat them in what lol? There's an unlimited amount of tests you could do to compare them. Did you do a Baja race comparing all of the trucks? Raced in a straight line? Ever taken if off-road? Ever towed anything? I could go on & on but you get my point. The only tests I've seen of newer Ford vs Tundra's, the Tundra did terrible & you'd expect it to be in pieces afterwards. People still drive Tundra cause yes it is a street-able vehicle.
I've beaten all three racing in a straight line, and I've beaten the dodge off-road (Sand and trail-riding) Don't get me wrong, I love Fords (I'm currently building and 87 F150 for offroading), but the Tundra is the Best 1/2 ton truck on the market right now.

I wouldn't trade having 4x4 for anything, It comes in handy when you're pulling something (mainly pullin the boat out.) And you can't beat a good 4x4 offroading.
yes, they do have more hp and torque, 381hp to 300, and 405 ftlbs tq to 365. significantly more, and the tundra does have 4:30 gears and a six speed. BUT, the tundra doesnt make all of its torque below 3,000 rpm's like the ford, and that new 6 speed tranny is very weak. and even with the 6 speed, the super low gearing gives it shittier gas mileage than the f-150. the funny part is, my roushed 05 F-150 has more power and is faster than a TRD supercharged tundra. I've raced 4, and never lost

Buying certain Toyota vehicles does support the American workers at those few American-based Toyota factories, supports the dealerships, and also supports the numerous makers of parts; but when it comes down to it Toyota is indeed based in Japan and IS NOT an American company. For example, if you were to buy a new F-150 made in USA, you would be doing so much more for America then buying a Tundra for the reasons I just spoke of, and to add to that it's just an overall insult to America.

FACT- the cheesy stamped steel lower control arms on the tundra are so weak, I've actually replaced 2 sets of them on trucks with less then 10k on them, cuz 1 big pothole an BAM. alignment issues. FORD does not have problems like that, sorry

If you look at the reputable testers instead the ford testers, the Chevy testers, or any other biased testers you will find that the Tundra is the best truck for towing performance, the Nissan Titan is the Best offroad, the 6.2L chevy is the best unloaded fast truck, and the Ford, Dodge are great for well Im not sure because all the trucks have there Luxury versions. So the best truck well depends on what your looking for. But Ford, or Honda should not be your list.

@Motorfordtoyota Not really, the 4.6 in the 2010 Mustangs make 315 hp while the Toyota one makes 310 hp. And Ford is replacing the 4.6L V8 with a 5.0L V8 this year, which will put out over 400 hp. And they will be coming out with a new 3.7L V6 too, which puts out 305 hp and still gets 31 mpg.

And due to the forged internals that came from the factory with the supercharged 4.6, you could easily put out well over 500 hp by changing the exhaust and intake, installing a bigger supercharger, and getting a tune. And with those forged internals, you wouldn't have to worry about throwing a rod or something even producing well over the factory hp.

juggernautxtr, what i do know is taking a brand new ford pick up back to the dealer for a compressor and they never fixed it! A relay that burned up two fuel pumps and all they did was tell me what the warranty covers and dont, etc, etc, etc. BTW, my Tundra has 245k and no problems. Take Care!

yes, they do have more hp and torque, 381hp to 300, and 405 ftlbs tq to 365. significantly more, and the tundra does have 4:30 gears and a six speed. BUT, the tundra doesnt make all of its torque below 3,000 rpm's like the ford, and that new 6 speed tranny is very weak. and even with the 6 speed, the super low gearing gives it shittier gas mileage than the f-150. the funny part is, my roushed 05 F-150 has more power and is faster than a TRD supercharged tundra. I've raced 4, and never lost

Buying certain Toyota vehicles does support the American workers at those few American-based Toyota factories, supports the dealerships, and also supports the numerous makers of parts; but when it comes down to it Toyota is indeed based in Japan and IS NOT an American company. For example, if you were to buy a new F-150 made in USA, you would be doing so much more for America then buying a Tundra for the reasons I just spoke of, and to add to that it's just an overall insult to America.

Anyone that has a realistic smart view, and knowledge of real jobs and/or lifestyles that require real trucks, know that the Tundra just doesn't cut it. That's where Ford will get the job done, or as far as that goes Dodge or Chevy, still better off than a Tundra. I agree with the new powerstrokes blowing up, they are junk, but my toyota dealership uses F-150's as parts runner trucks, all 3 are 2004's new body style. one of them has over 300,000 miles on it, and needed absolutely nothing except brakes, and basic maintainance shit. Im the one who did it all cuz Im an ex ford tech. I like GM, I respect them cuz they're one of the 1st car builders in history. but toyota's suck these days, the new ones do. especially the tundra's.

it seems clear that your getting a rise out of this, im calm, and you really want to know what i do... im a heavy duty mechanic, and around the shop we have fords and chevs as crew trucks, all of them have broken down somewhere somehow, even on the rig sites, the new fords turbos blew up and blew the engine, cost 18,000 dollars total for replacement and it had under 100,000 KM on it. the other fords have injector issues and stalling problems, even the gas ones we use for the employees.

you wanna kno a fact? toyota actually recruited help from GM to build their 5.7 tundra motor. thats a fact. another fact- the tundra's leaf springs are over 1/2 an inch narrower than the F-150, decreasing its rated load carrying ability significantly. FACT- the cheesy stamped steel lower control arms on the tundra are so weak, I've actually replaced 2 sets of them on trucks with less then 10k on them, cuz 1 big pothole an BAM. alignment issues. FORD does not have problems like that, sorry
