Nuclear Power and Hydrogen Fuel Cells are the way forward - On both energy sources his argument was very weak and dismissive. Sure we still need oil to make a lot of stuff, but if we are not burning it then we have more than enough to last until the end of the century by which time another synthetic material will hopefully be in production. Until then we can recycle plastic and become more frugal in its uses.

More worrying is the change of power from the West to the East over the next decade!

What made me so captivated when i first saw this movie was that everything that he said was researched...proven and documented. It wasnt like watching some lone nut case standing around shouting from the hills that the world was coming to an end, it was all realistic and conceivable. We are reaching that stage where our thirst for infinite growth is going to collide with finite resources. I have been showing this movie to as many people as i know.

I have known about the up and coming collapse due to demographics since the late 80's. I am trying hard to devise a system to predict the price movements of commodities. Watch out for failure to deliver on contracts especially oil. This will mean severe shortage of world supply in the ground. Peak oil happened a while ago.

Real change has to start in our chest...if we go thru the existing structure, we will be ass deep in water, and eating canned food inside of 5 years. We could make real change, and the quickest way would be at a grass root level. Start with a generator - PV panels. Convert your car to elec. Get off the elec. grid. Put in a garden. Then hope against hope none of this happens.

Always has been...GE creates some of the most sophisticated electrical motors to drive trains and submarines, why not cars...its all been set up to create scarcity.
