Nuclear Power and Hydrogen Fuel Cells are the way forward - On both energy sources his argument was very weak and dismissive. Sure we still need oil to make a lot of stuff, but if we are not burning it then we have more than enough to last until the end of the century by which time another synthetic material will hopefully be in production. Until then we can recycle plastic and become more frugal in its uses.
More worrying is the change of power from the West to the East over the next decade!
Good luck to you all I'm 13, and I plan to live through this collapse. Already got a cache hidden about half a mile into the woods just outside my house, and a backpack ready with 6 months worth of food in it :D.
The US recently kicked off a trade war with China, which is already escalating into a currency war. Remember a few years back when Russians were burning Rubles to heat their homes? Well, believe it or not, that hyperinflation was due to economic warfare between Russia and US. We had the upper hand then, but China’s holding an ace or two now… and they’ve got the support of Japan and (understandably) Russia. This sucks, but what goes around, comes around.
By invoking irrelevant issues such as greed and peak oil, Ruppert shows that he has no clue. The upcoming economic collapse is UNAVOIDABLE and has nothing to do with greed or oil. It results in the end of Man. We are the last generation of humans on Earth!
1. "Peak Oil... might not be the only cause of society's collapse, it is a major one"
.
The economy is the ONLY cause of a mass extinction. The amphibians, which died out at the end of the Carboniferous, knew nothing about oil or energy. Neither did the therapsids of End Permian or the dinos of the KT. The common thread is the natural economy. A mass extinction is by definition the disintegration of an entire food chain.
2. "check out "the zeitgeist movement .com" to help minimize the damage of the collapse"
.
The Zeitgeist censors people who do not agree with them. I will tell them again what I tell you now: there is NO ESCAPING the upcoming mass extinction. I don't care what the zealots who run Zeitgeist say. Once the global economy collapses, no one will produce food and 7B people, the entire pop on Earth, will die. Neither Intelligence nor Technology has a chance to revert an overturned eco pyramid!
@1tonykirk : Fuck You. How dare you insult atheists this way. Just because atheists don't believe your religious crap, doesn't give you the right to utter your nonsense. Get a reality.
@hisbigal Trotsky, Lenin, Marx, Stalin were all occultists and were funded by the Rothschilds, yet they were reported to be 'Atheists". You should really think about what you read and who published it, and what their Agenda is.
"World Revolution" Nesta Webster. "Proofs of a Conspiracy" John Robison, "Jacobinism" A Barruel, "The Secret Doctrine" Helena P Blavatsky, "Morals and Dogma" Albert Pike, "America's Secret Destiny" Manly P Hall. this just for starters.
If the masters of planet knew that peak oil was real, do you think they would let you and I burn up the last drops? How are they going to live comfortably with the last 500 million slaves doing their work? How are they going to drive and fly their planes and rocket ships?
What made me so captivated when i first saw this movie was that everything that he said was researched...proven and documented. It wasnt like watching some lone nut case standing around shouting from the hills that the world was coming to an end, it was all realistic and conceivable. We are reaching that stage where our thirst for infinite growth is going to collide with finite resources. I have been showing this movie to as many people as i know.
Bottom line is you can agree or disagree with his statements....but you have to at least understand what he is saying. Take it for what its worth. He's just trying to give you an insight into his thought's about the American institution.
I have known about the up and coming collapse due to demographics since the late 80's. I am trying hard to devise a system to predict the price movements of commodities. Watch out for failure to deliver on contracts especially oil. This will mean severe shortage of world supply in the ground. Peak oil happened a while ago.
To all the people reading this blog, please watch the movie Collapse. It is not some Conspiracy theorist individual. He discusses Conspiracy facts and talks about where this country is headed. It is not a horror movie but many people will be terrified after watching it.
Mike, (sorry for being familier, you don't know me, but I love ya man) I think america is a nation not of cowards, but one of PUSSIES. May God bless you for for your effords.
I've seen the movie! realy a pissimistic movie but none the less extremely realistic. I am now researching this...and believe me people it is not looking good. Our world needs changes, BIG changes and sry guys this may choc you but capitalism just DOESN'T WORK! learn this! know this. anyways, yes there is a collapse coming(real soon) and all who thinks that capitalism works, will have a big surpise...a rather nasty one..sadly. Human beings/life are what's important, not money, oil or the ego...
Then you might haven ot understood the movie. It wasn't about Capitalism doesn't work - it was that Industrialisation does not work (foreever). Thats why Ruppert is correctly saying that capitalism and communism are almost the same just with minor differences.
@hangingoutdude you are so right. i have given up trying to tell people this. like Ruppert said those people are that arent evolved are going to die. and as Charles Darwin said " its not the strongest or the fittest who survive, but the most adaptive.
Of course you're right, our current system does not work. But we in the western world (in fact the whole world) do not live in a capitalist system. What we are witnessing is a fascist takeover, a system in which big companies, monopolies and globally acting copropations make the rules and enslave everybody and everything. Believe it or not, but i am afraid that after all Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao and all the other big and small, right and left fascists finally succeded.
@hangingoutdude Totally true. I think the problem is governments being selfish and not caring about others. If we all cared and loved each other we would have a lot less problems. We wouldn't be selfish, we'd share, we wouldn't have wars and we wouldn't have shortages of resources. I think we just need to manage our resources better.
@tobiaslarsgunnar - yes, we've seen the outcome of going up against the insurance industry...the power industry is worse. Real change has to start in our chest...if we go thru the existing structure, we will be ass deep in water, and eating canned food inside of 5 years. We could make real change, and the quickest way would be at a grass root level. Start with a generator - PV panels. Convert your car to elec. Get off the elec. grid. Put in a garden. Then hope against hope none of this happens.
Are you sure we would have canned food or anything to eat in the future?
I dont know if the civilization is going to collapse or we are running out of oil, which is finite. But we are searching all over the Earth to look for it - wiping out forests, waters just to get the juice.
Yes, and the irony is electrical power is far superior to internal combustion. Always has been...GE creates some of the most sophisticated electrical motors to drive trains and submarines, why not cars...its all been set up to create scarcity. We have abundance, as you pointed out, all around us - infinity in every direction.
Every time I see the commercials about big oil creating fuel from algea SOMEDAY, and the little dick that works for them grinning, you know they have no intention of this!
I need to say honestly this guy is my hero. Im a 36 year old young man :P and i know a lot of things are wrong with our world. Michael Ruppert put his life in front of all this mafia dark shark people in the name of us. thank you Mister Ruppert. My eyes are open and now i can see more clean what is everything about.

@TruthAxe , explain how u don't see a collapse coming? I haven't seen this movie but all economists are pointing to a major depression. Pls explain why now? If u don't have an answer pls don't come back swearing and name calling (like everyone on Youtube). I really hope there is no collapse coming also.
I can't seem to find the movie in the UK. I would love to see this movie.

but it's NOT a big leap - to create free energy - or electrical sources that are non fossil fuel based.
We can do this - the research is there....

Never have I said that I don't see a collapse coming.
Merely, I pointed out that this smug joker Ruppert is a peddler of paranoia.
Ruppert lacks experience and credentials for anyone to accept his false beliefs.
Perhaps you can explain how a collapse isn't here already? Don't be fooled by the lack of speed in the collapse.
Instead of listening to Ruppert who is trying to cash in on paranoia, check out Marc Faber.
Marc Faber makes his living betting big dollars on his beliefs.
