I think one of the points of covering a song is making it your own. A cover does not always have to be an exact copy, but whoever records it has every right alter the song and express his or her originality. Yeah, maybe this song sounds a bit better slower. But maybe this is how she wanted to play it, or maybe it just happened without her thinking. Whatever the case, it is what it is.

This is one of my favorite Thrice songs, and one of my favorite songs from any artist. Dustin Kensrue and Thrice produce some amazing and original music. Although Dustin is hard to match, it is really nice to hear some Thrice songs sung by a girl. Most of their songs tell tales from the soul, and I think your voice puts another perspective on some of those tales for me. Thank you.

to counter the speeding up from nervousness, start it WAY slower than you think you should...you'll be closer to real speed and can slow yourself down easier if you catch yourself speeding up-> its a lot harder to slow it back down once you really get rollin

I think, you have a bit too much of a pop tone to this. You're voice is amazing. but you've taken on a bit too much of an "idol" type approach in the verses. There's a lot of beauty to your voice when you sing the chorus. You do capture some of the essence quite well, but you have really sped up the song. If you slow it down a bit, and put a bit more of that Mysterious vibe that Dustin Portrays when he sings the verses, I think you could master an AMAZING cover of this song. Keep it up!
