  • she's a sick psychopath

  • Samantha Power is brilliant.....

  • Nice. Alot of knowledge and political realities that we need more of. Thanks to UCBerkeley for making and upploading.

  • I like the Obama button she is wearing. Nice to stay objective Samantha !

    Oy !!!

  • Samantha is an anti-semite. She wants to 'invest' in a new state of terrorist Palestine. These are the people that are driving the world toward destruction.

  • man, i dig this video.. how often do you get a nice case study of megalo-manic, narcissistic, "divining" politik. but you get a frothing, lap-dog, withered, academic yes man too!!! :) by the way,, 35:30 "they were"??? whiskey tango foxtrot!!!, methinks its a weasel!!!

  • man, i dig this video.. how often do you get a nice case study of megalo-manic, narcissistic, "divining" politik. but you get a frothing, lap-dog, withered, academic yes man too!!! :)

  • Intellectually gifted, socially progressive, and physically courageous.

  • She's going to be the next secretary of state and that spells trouble. These academics are so full of shit. They live in a bubble, and it's all about ruling us the unwashed in their opinion.

  • This woman wants the US to bomb just a tad bit more people, than she'll feel she's done her part for the poorest of us.

And @hazor777, liberal =/= communist. Liberals receive Nobel peace prize while imposing videogame-warfare on foreign societies. "Communist" is the sound of the common right-wing peasant having FOX-induced hypnagogic spasms. I'm baffled as to how you confused the two, really

  • Does she scare anyone else out there?

  • @Longhammer37214 I believe that obama's promised her a high position in the New World Order. This lady is dangerous. She is of those driving the world to the edge of destruction.

  • @largraf You guys are fucking nuts. Get off your computer.

  • @cambocan You guys are too easy to read. So how does it feel to be selling out your neighbors, your friends, the rest of the world? You know what they call sellouts in the prostitution business, don't you? You know. She's the one who sits on the Beast in the Bible. If you don't know, look it up. Then reconsider what you're doing.

  • @largraf You know what's really wrong with America? Irrational, paranoid idiots who rather invent fantasies about how the world works than actually think about things. You might not realize this but YOU'RE the one that's been pacified.

  • @Longhammer37214 She's with the Abomination that brings Desolation Administration, the New World Order Protocol Beast System that will one day NUKE a couple of the world's most populace to bring the rest of the world into submission. This is how they'll bring PEACE to the world, thru DESTRUCTION. This just so happens to be Satan's answer to problems he can't solve. If he can't get the peons to comply, he'll pound them into submission. But it will not work. Because HE is coming back soon - JC!!!

  • @Longhammer37214 She's kinda hot, yet scary.

  • This video is weird as shit. This "woman" has a deeper voice than the guy. Only in San Francisco.........

  • @harneyjt It is a guy

  • As a consequence and in direct opposition to this communist dumb bitch... the citizens of the entire middle east are now demanding freedom, and self rule.

  • STUPID.COMMUNIST.LIBERAL.C*U*N*T.

  • support the independence of southern california and arizona, the hispanic communities are suffering human rights abuses, indedpendence for Aztlan.

  • @SuperPreciousMetal go get a visa fuckface

  • @biggerturtle you and this cunt supported albanian bastards killing our police and civilians, and kicked us out of our own country.... kosovo is serbia... we will never forget what you did to us. assholes.

  • @SuperPreciousMetal My comment was directed at your Arizona/Califonrnia/Aztlan/hispanic statement NOT Kosovo. I never said I " supported Albania" and I don't. However, the illegal immigration situation out here in the western part of the U.S. ( mostly hispanic) is TOTALLY out of control and the so called "human rights" for illegals is absolute , pure bullshit and a scam.

  • @biggerturtle you bombed us for a fake humantarian cause.... you gave weapons to albanians to kill our people then blamed us for genocide that did not happen... zionist are destroying the world, i dont blame you persay.

  • I'm I out of line if I say that I am sooooooooooo turned on by this woman?

  • @Chrisnyc36 you have horrible taste and probably fuck holes in the ground because you are so desperate lol

  • @AbuJahfar Well, I never said she was hot. or pretty, or sexy... i just found myself turned on by this woman. And that wasn't a hole on the ground... Look closer.. It was Allah in the shape of your mother.

  • An outrageous distortion to suggest that sucide bombing post war indicates the presences of 'al qaeda' pre-invasion. What a moron.

  • @nnknkable "because the bush administration went to war in iraq for a whole series of reasons: alleged weapons of mass destruction, alleged links to terrorism neither of them true..."

Did you even listen to her? Who's the moron?

  • You have bent view of faith. It is your own view. It is not true faith of Catholic Church as the answer to revelation of God through Jesus, Son of God. Never was any atheist who could understand faith of Catholic Church. If atheist starts to understand it he ends be atheist. No atheist any more. You are still atheist? You don't understand faith of Catholic Church yet! Study more, pray to God to understand it. God's mind and heart. Truth and Love. Not killing conceived babies any more. Amen

  • Doesn't sound like the notion of not invading other nations for Empire ever factors in.

  • I lose her at the 40 minute mark. She de facto legitimizes US occupation of foreign countries if the "planning" of the invasion is tactically sound.

  • Al-Qaida was in Iraq or it came in later ?

  • She is white hot with knowledge..

  • Hey, it's Ellie Light!

  • excellent worker!

  • Joaquín Leguina lol

  • great opening music.

  • I know I'm just a confused person...but may I remind you that the size of a corporation does matter, as does the dominance of all market sectors by larger and larger entities. Yes...quality of leadership does play a role, even an important role...but when companies take over other businesses that same management quality is eroded. That's what's happened in the banking mess. It used to be that banks, conservative and primary function, was to loan companies/people money. Today it's the opposite.

  • Competence in government flows from competence in the population. The reverse is also true.

Lack of citizen competency begets US the INCOMPETENT and destructive wild bush.

  • im sorry, the reverse is not true:

competence in the population [doesn't] flows from competence in government.

  • To disagree with my statement (correct) is to imply that govement has no influence on citizens? Then what would be the use of a govement?

And if govement do have influence on citizens, then that influence MUST be either good or bad, competent or incompetent!

  • You make it sound like there is a direct stream of information. If one is competent, the other must be as well. It just isn't true. While both sides greatly affect the other, both can react separately.

  • Uh??

Would wise people choose and idiot to represent them?

Of course there is a 'direct stream of information', whatever that means.

When you are part of a system or society, your so-called 'independence' is an illusion.

Instead of challenging wisdom, spend more time recognizing that American educational system is one of the worse in industrialized nations.

Without the assistance of 'extraordinary influences', mis-educated citizens CANNOT but elect or allow incompetents as their leaders.

  • Answer: Bush

True independence is not possible in a majority rule society. However, you cannot discredit independent thought and actions. Crime, for instance, is in direct conflict to system or society norms. Not to mention, activism and revolutions.

I am 100% agree that the education system in America is horrible. That is because competency in government limits competency in the population. It is all about shifting the balance of power, and not sharing it

  • What do you think that government is?

Government is not from Mars or somewhere in outer space.

    Government is FROM THE PEOPLE!

It is citizens within the society that make up the government!

  • Yes. Government is from the people....but in our times, we have something akin to a corporate state...where their interests offset the direct voice of the people...or "the masses", as "we the people" are often conceived of. It's corporate oligopoly..dominating many sectors of the economy..that have imbued our politics. Citizens are now witnessing the consequences of the "government is the problem" mentality, which is nothing more than the culmination of a generation of corporate permissiveness.

  • Corporate state IS ALSO 'of the people'!

Corporate execs aren't from Mars or outer space. They come from among the citizens.

Government leaders come from among the citizens.

Citizens elect OR ALLOW their leaders!

Better citizens elect or allow better leaders, in corporation or in government!

"Govement is the problem" only when little minds like Reagan's are elected or allowed leadership positions in government.

  • I respect the humanistic position you propose. however note that "of the people' also means the susceptibility to any of the seven deadly sins...and for the corporate state that means "greed and avarice, and pride". The tremendous size and reach of the modern corporation, and the over compensation of these kings and queens of business, puts them in a rarefied atmosphere, far removed from the ordinary citizen. Yes, there's good among them, but there's also an ample chance of anti-social behavior.

  • You are mixing up unrelated things, which causes the arrival at wrong conclusions.

The mere 'size' of corporation or of govement is not a problem in & of itself

It is the QUALITY OF THE LEADERSHIP, elected or allowed, that matters most

A large corporation with leaders displaying your so-called 'deadly sins' is a problem.

A large corporation with leaders NOT displaying those life-damaging qualities is a boon for the society

In every case, leaders DO HAIL from a good or bad pool of citizens

  • Unfortunately, that is only true on paper. We live in an oligarchy.

  • What is 'only true on paper'?

  • That government is a representation of what "the people" want or need. Even in the most democratic of governments, and the US certainly doesn't have a democracy, internal politics rules. It's all a matter of who gets to wield that power, and who controls the means of maintaining the power. "On paper", demorcracy would work, but it doesn't take into account several different factors about human nature, and it also mistakenly assumes that citizens have an obligation to do certain things.

  • You got that part right: "It's all a matter of who gets to wield that power"

If those wielding the power are favorably disposed towards the citizens, then the citizens will surely benefit from actions of such leaders.

Don't reply with the implication that I'm backing the devilish and divisive democracy. I am not!

Democracy is a political TOOL of deception, divisiveness and destructiveness, which is used to promote domination of others.

In USA, democracy is domination of the wealthy/business

  • That is only possible with the elimination of government, by which I mean taxation. And welfare for corporations.

  • "Elimination of government", whatever that means is mindless

To have a society without a system of leadership is to not have a human society

And 'welfare for corporations & for citizens' are always going to be part of an efficiently functioning society; because no matter how good the corporation or the citizenry, there are always going to be unexpected needs arising from natural or man-made disasters, for eg.

'Corporate welfare' is been abused now by greedy wealth addicts & political crooks

  • I don't think you understand. Elimination of government just means the elimination of taxes. Taxation is legalized theft. People would still organize themselves into a system for either the benifit of a class of people, or for the general area(cities, states, etc). Ergo, there would also be organized contingencies for disasters.

  • If you mean 'elimination of taxes', then that is what you should post and be done with it.

Posting 'elimination of government' implies mindlessness; because every effective and successful society must have an administration.

And people 'organize themselves' and 'organized contingencies' implies government. And your 'contingencies' have to be funded

Members of the society will have to collect funds for your 'contingencies'

Those who don't contribute will engage in 'il-legalize theft'!

  • Skull and Bones through and through!

  • Is that you Mr. Vader? or is is Darth Vador?

  • The Obama button should not have been worn for the interview. It creates a judgment before even hearing what see is presenting.

  • Huh?

    Real people aren't wishy washy.

Real people do have positions they hold dear. And if such a position can do good for others, then one has an obligation to share.

And Samantha is doing just that with the Obama button.

Many Americans need more good leaders they can believe. It would make for a better country, than the present one of cynicism that is never good for anyone.

  • What we do to each others, we do to ourselves. This is what is the direction we need to go with discussions. It is apparent to me that without these discussions we will find ourselves like a dog chasing the tail. I am very proud to be an American to see the potentials that some of us grab and try to implement good judgement to the communities threw their successes

  • I agree, I don't agree with her point of view all of the time but this is what the United States is all about.

  • The book is great, thoroughly recommend it.

  • -Cont.- Thanks Samantha for your interview, which gave a respectful tribute to a man. who richly deserved it, but it also enlightened a surprisingly wide array of corolary issues, which gave good testimony of your vibrant, independent and synthetising mind, and Free Spirit.

PS Excellent, relevant questioning by Mr. Kreisler also.

  • Ms. Power with fine balance brought forward the portrait of a tragic hero in our time. In very simple term, Mr. De Mello's tragedy lay in that -despite his noble intentions- he arrived in the wake of a military invasion, by a powerful military power, thus for way too many people, he too was only part of the ugly imperial package. -Cont.-
