@ seebey1 your comments about flourescent materials are incorrect. A flourescent material absorbs short wavelength high energy photons to promote an electron to a higher enegery level. This electron then relaxes back to its ground state, emitting a slightly lower energy and thus longer wavelenth photon. i.e you put in a UV photon and get out a lower energy visible photon. You do not gain energy from flouresence you loose it.

This entire structure is something i thought out completely within a couple of hours. I do not understand all the people with 2 normal magnets in such a structure. Of course you will need 1 normal, and 1 electro (1+1or similar), or at least be able to switch the magnetic field off at a certain moment when not using an electromagnet driven by a coil. It can be done in different ways, but... the point is: free energy is here and it is not difficult. This coil of them might be interesting though.

Well we certainly hope we can improve on Sean's demo model.

He states that over a week, it produced "21 kiojoules of excess energy". Sound like a lot? 21 Kilojoules equates 5.8 watt-hours of energy. Ie. enough to power a 5 watt device for one hour, or a 25 watt light bulb for 15 minutes.

And this from running his generator for a week! This generator has to run an entire month for every hour of use on a 25 watt light bulb.

he misspoke, if you look closley at his projector screen you will see typed out 21k kilojoules. so 21,000 kilojoules is a little bit under 6,000 watts. You could easily run your house of this.

If its real it will take time to engineer a fully optimised system that works reliably.

Sean states the efficiency will depend on physical and practical design. Meaning it probably cant self run today as a demo but when a manufacturer designs one from scratch and optimises every aspect.

Orbo technology is much like the effect of fluorescence A fluorescent material reflects both visible and ultraviolet light as visible light. So there appears more "light" coming off the surface than was incident.. That is why fluorescent things are so bright.

Orbo takes some supplied energy, then draws extra from an unseen world also, outputting the sum.

If this is over 300% efficient and even electrical overunity, then change the battery with a capacitor, and prove that the capacitor is gaining and not loosing energy stored.

@4optics yeah, it'd cut air friction. You'd also get efficiency from changing the rotor size, increasing magnet size/strength, supercooling the magnets, moving the output coil closer to the rotor, not building the thing out of clear plastic, etc.

I disagree. Surely if you had the opportunity for gaining from your research, you would take it. Besides, products built with this technology will be inherently profitable for the company building them, even if a small percentage in licensing fees was directed towards Steorn. If it wasn't the case, it wouldn't make sense for Steorn's business model!!

Anyway once people figure out why it works, they can improve it (420 pounds is not that much money!)

because apparently it has more to do with how fast the rotor turns as well as how many rotors you have! If real, it would be unlimited, dependent on implementation. The ratio of 3:1 is a pretty good start though.

It's clear Steorn was never a Caesar's Palace act, but a scientific fraternity directly concerned with rigorous, tangible results. Therefore the science has always been ahead of slick presentation, but in this series they finally communicate, effectiively and convicingly. Without an engineering degree or self study, you're not going to get anything more.

Sean, you said the electrical efficiency was 327%. Does that mean that Orbo keeps its own battery fully charged without outside input? And how do you avoid overcharging it you are returning to it more than three times what you draw?

Great question. I've also wondered if this machine gets "heavier" during production. If it's creating matter, it should be gaining mass incrementally.

Any excess energy would translate into an output current only if there were a load. Current doesn't flow without a load. So, minus charging the battery (which has a load if it is partially depleted), this energy is going to this load. At 3:27, the kinetic energy of the rotor is at least discussed as being turned into heat by the pickup coil, but that's a minor bit. I missed where/if he said how they provide a load for the excess output current.
