If Cuba is funnelling it based on the country's needs, then why are so many people there still starving and living in dire poverty?? Everywhere communism has been tried it has failed. It is based on some fairy tale that cannot exist in the real world. Speaking of the real world, please join it.
Cuba has always been a "poor" country. The difference is that the socialist revolution stopped the funnelling of wealth into the U.S. and now distributes it based on the populations needs. Of course individuals are going to leave to find opportunities elsewhere. People leave the "free" and capitalist states of Haiti and Mexico in droves. Socialist revolution is not going to magically transform an underdeveloped, agrarian state into a middle-class paradise.
@robertrulebirtannia WOW is all I can say to your comment. You are really ignorant on history. You are really ignorant on the present too. All you have to do is look over to Cuba and North Korea as a present day example of how communism doesn't work.
@Brdj010 So point out were I said something ignorant and last I checked Cuba wasn't in as much trouble as much of the world, while giving it's people health care and a good education and the DPRK is a Juche state not a communist one, it removed communist from the state ideology years ago.
@robertrulebirtannia Well considering that the majority of Cubans still live in poverty I would say no. Things have only started to get a little better in Cuba since Castro left power due to illness. Look how many Cubans have flooded into America to get away from the Castro regime. North Korea is very much named a communist country. The fact is there has never really been a communist country because communism doesn't work in the real world. A government cannot force equality.
@Brdj010 Their a lot better off then before the revolution and the reason they still have proerty is because of the US blockade. far more people leave capitalist countries in south america the leave Cuba.
No it isn't, look it up, the DPRK's state ideology, it is Juche.
like how you frist say "communi" failed and then say it has never existed

Communism has failed every time. It is based on some fairy tale book by Marx that can never exist in the real world.

@Brdj010 Communism existed for 70 years and failed once, capitalism has existed for 300 years and has failed repeatedly.
