  • i used Citadel's Mechrite Red and it looks too dark, i order all my stuff from GW so what color would you say is CLOSEST to clotted in GW's set?

  • @LordDrakeMalice I don't use a lot of GW paints, but I think that the closest is "Red Gore"... or if you like it darker a 50/50 mix of Scab Red and Red Gore

  • keep up the great videos

  • thanks it really helped i appreciate it and also thanks for replying

  • is the the red cleared red or a diifferent red cause i can't find colted red plz reply

  • @ProudNoobChannel It is from the Reaper Master Series, called Clotted Red #9134. I just googled it and found it available from a long list of online vendors and many vendors with brick and mortar stores all over the globe. I hope this helps.

  • Whats the start tune ?

  • LOL im getting another battle force today and I want to make a space marine exactly like that hahahahahahh

  • dont suppose you know the conversion with reaper paints you used to vallejo or GW

  • Comment removed

  • awesome, where can i find reaper paints? like are they sold at just any kind of hobby store?

  • @sirpieman300 I recommend looking for Non-GW gaming shops in your area, or you can order it direct from online retailers.

  • dish detergent? wait does that actually make the flow improve?

  • @superstrok99 Yes, it breaks the natural surface tension of the water and makes the paint flow more evenly. You only need a TINY amount in your water pot. Depending on the type of soup you might need less than a drop. For example I use DAWN and that I typically put a drop of detergent to two one CUP of water. Hope that helps.

  • hi i have a question...Im starting to paint Blood Raven(as in beginer) so do you have any good advice?

  • @ASHRAVEN113 Hey, I didn't see this comment. Youtube sometimes fails to notify me of comments. If you still need help PM me and we can talk about it. Sorry.

  • that pose is so sick! ''don't blow up, PLEASE!'' he's just like that :)

  • @papaskittels If you dislike the dry time on GW check into fluid retardant, it keeps the paint from drying right away. I LOVE reaper paints, Vallejo is good but getting use to the amount of pigment (high). It is hard to adjust water to paint ratio (for me at least) if you are accustomed to GW or reaper. Reaper has a blending medium built into it which makes mixing colors easier. My personal preference is for Reaper and GW paints. hope that helps

  • best vid yet!

  • What colors you mix? That color is the one Ii need to make my chapter look half blood raven half ultra marine.

  • can you mix different types of space marines in one's army? like can you combine blood ravens, space wolves and ultramarines?

  • Man,how do you do all this? It's awesome!

  • @SicariusCap do you know the music in the start?

  • can u jest use citadel blood red and then wash it with black wash will that work?

  • thanks for your tips i started a blood raven army 5 mouths ago and its coming 2gether check out my video of my blood raven ironclad dreadnought im subcribeing

  • Also where did u get that kick ass video of (i think it is) Gabriel kicking an ork warboss's butt SUPERCOOLIO!!!

  • Which Games Workshop (Citadel) colors can I use instead of the paint you use? I can't get the ones you are using where I live.

I've been trying to find a good Blood Raven paint scheme but I can't find and solid one, as all sites have different ones...

  • @EnigmaNL I sent you a PM. The first one is blank sorry...

  • @Shiznaft1 Hi im from the u.k. & new to warhammer 40.000 . Im also starting 2 collect a spacemarine army and wish to paint it as a bloodraven army would it be at all possible to get a citadel colour list 4 what colours ill be needing to do so if its not to much bother

  • @Shiznaft1 Can you tell me as well the Citadel color scheme. I live in México and i can't get the paints you use :( Thanks!!!

  • @Shiznaft1 is it possible to send me one aswell plz? most appreciated

  • @EnigmaNL

I saw one tutorial where they worked up from a 50/50 mix of dark flesh and [I think] red gore, up through blood red to a 50/50 mix of blood red and bronzed flesh, which looked quite good. It's a nice high-contrast scheme.

  • @bombkangaroo do you know the music in the start?

  • @Asken96

    Not a clue, sorry.

  • @bombkangaroo i found after hour of seraching slayer socity of skeletorns!

  • btw i love how in the title have put 'How I paint Blood Ravens not 'How to'.

  • You aren't slow, no offense but you are kind of a perfectionist.

  • That's the only way wh40k figurines worth painting. ;-)

  • @cche293 Thats a good thing. Unless you dont care about how your models look...

  • this came in pretty handy. thanks dude. i found gw paints to use. i used basically mechrite red instead of clot red, but how do you get the shiny.

  • It is kinda odd, this paint is formulated to look like that when it dries. However this batch did not have the same sheen as the other bottles that I have used...

  • oh, so i need clot red to get the shiny. yeah, i dont really know what else to call it. you should do more of these how to paint vids, ur good at them

  • Love ya Intro

  • what about mechire red?

  • I find it to be too light

  • @Shiznaft1 if u darken merchrite with chaos black hopefully will it looks the same. where i live, i can only find GW paints

  • @manfredtham1 do you know the music in the start?

  • @chrisjk123 you could mix it in with a VERY SMALL amount of black, not chaos black, just citadel Black to make it darker.

  • i found that my way works too. undercoat black, then base layer it with mechrite red then gore red then highlight with some blood red and solar orange mix then just do what u did

  • that thing at the start was sick gud tut as well

  • could u use mechrite red because that looks very similiar to it.

  • Mechrite red is the wrong shade, too bright in my opinion anyway. I have tried it and I think they come out too bright. I favor a darker color scheme though. In truth you can use whatever suits you.

  • oh dang

  • Do you think blood red is good for blood ravens? I use it.

  • cool.but can you tell me the name of the song your video start with?

  • Skeletons of Society from Slayer... I think.

  • lol i saw your finished marine on google images, "plasma weapons they're so worth it." XD

  • what paint you can use scab or gore red

  • listen to the video! lol he says it at 1:22

  • but what do you use...

  • lol i did the same thing 2 weeks ago

  • the thing u said about jawaballs, that he dont thin down hes paint, as far as i know he does it with hes saliva=) he said it in a vid atleast^^

  • *SNAP* so do i lol. loads more convenient

  • what paint can you use instead of the clotted red, 'cause england doesn't like reaper...

  • scab red or red gore?

  • I think you are correct sir.

  • yeay! =D

  • I started a blood ravens list and i use scab red it works ok.

  • what is the song in the intro with the cool drum beat which i am eating my chicken to DUNNA DUNNA DUM DUM DUNNA DUNNA DUM

  • can u use bathroom soap and water to make it slide easier?

  • What kind of paints do you use?

  • my mates dad works for games workshop he cuts the moulds

  • can you just list what types of paints you have used to paint the whole marine because i plan on beginning a blood ravens army

  • Often when the paint comes out of the pot it is a little too thick. So you add the flow improver to the paint to thin it down. It also breaks the surface tension and allows the paint to "flow" over the surface of the model more evenly. The best example of surface tension (if you are not familiar with it) is a drop of water on a pane glass. It just sits there like a bead if you add soap or flow improver it cannot bead and it just runs off the surface of the glass. So it allows smoother paint jb

  • I used the standard bearer arm and just cut off the pole and attached a plasma gun

  • there is no such thing as a one handed plasma rifle (unless you count the master crafted weapons) its just a normal one his modeled it so the model holds it in one hand -_-

  • so i guess mechrite red is the color you should be using if you dont have reaper paints for this stage?

  • I really like the long, slow, non-spedup version. There are few videos that are of such good quality and detail out there.

  • plasma rife total worthi it i have it as my desktop

  • that is nice i allways wonderd oh yeah my computers fixd but my web cam broke im saveing up for a camcorder and i got assult on black reach the models are just fantastic

  • You speak about Jawaballs. I think there could use same tactic here. Basecoat whole model and then pick up details.

  • if you use the dialate i find it boring but the way that you did it were we had to sit and watch it that's better

  • what red colour did you say you use? is it a citadel colour?

  • He said it was Clotted Red from the Reaper Paints.. I would think Merchite Red is the equivlent.

  • thx for the reply

  • I dont know if anyone realizes but this guy every now and again clamps his hands together when painting. This is an excellent way of stopping hand shake. Thought id point this out.

  • hello, do you use vallejo colours from the model or game range? And what colours did you use to paint a blood raven?

  • a time dilation wouldn't be bad......

    but great vid!

  • wow cool!!!!

  • Ha! thats brilliant! exactaly how you would fire one of those face melters!

  • glad 2 c u back

  • oh you made my model! lol i want to make one of those too, i cant get past that poster its so funny

  • there is a satin gloss varnish too that will give it your regular small gloss ;)

  • lol that is classic! i will have to do one later one ;)

  • if you go to like photobucket and search like warhammer (or 40k) motivational posters, im sure youll find it, thats how i found it lol

  • or just check on the chans

  • have you done any blood angels projects

  • you should make a conversion of how you would want to look like if YOU would be a blood raven.seems like a nice little project to me. but nice video anyways and think about it =)

  • I really like how you modeled that figure. Great job. 5/5

  • I like the homage to the "Plasma weapons, totally worth it" fig. One of my favorite posters ever.

  • i got tiny plastic ones can thay still be used in a game

  • man you are like the bob ross of warhammer 40k painting, i would have sat 1/3 and watched it, all it was missing was a happy tree, nice job cant wait to see the other steps

    -Shard
