the start of demon's souls is probably the hardest. it took me about 4 hrs of trying to beat the worlds 1-1 and 1-2, but after you get some good items you can own the rest. Took me less than 20 hrs to get to NG+ with almost all the trophies!

Demon's Souls is a cross between Ninja Gaiden and Elder Scrolls 4. I have not wanted to play any other game. This game require patience & strategy more then any other game I have ever played. But most of all it takes determination to go the distance because at the end of a long battle you not only conquer your foe you conquer your fear and are rewarded with large overwhelming sense of accomplishment and pride. it is already # 2 all time for me behind Fallout 3 . I agree with Yuzo that Demons Souls brings back something that has been missing in gaming for about a 10-15 years now. I thought the game was perfect, the last boss was pretty piss weak but after finishing the game, you just collapse in your couch and think "Finally I fucking beat this game". Its like the modern day castlevania
Just finish Demon Souls and the final boss is a joke. You would think the final would be super ass hard, but he's the weakest of all the boss battles. After you the beat him the games is over. I'm like thats it, I put in over 40 hours of gameplay and I get a weakass end boss and a crapy ending. Thanks a lot Demon Souls.
I believe the finally boss is met to be weak. Its a weak and disfigured Creature met to capture and portray the result of the corruption in man. lust for power turned that person into a demon. don't think of it as the last boss, think of it as a lesson :D
and not to mention you can summon up to 2 people to help you in any level and all the bossfights so anyone that watches this and is on the fence about demons souls watch an actual review on it if your interested in buying it but these guys are awesome in every other way!!

I think the multiplayer online was really fun, but i liked the legit missions before the RTS missions than the game got boring... -_- ... the RTS only works in online, and the open world is VERY empty .. like wtf, im sad cause TIm Schafer is my FAVOURITE developer.
lol demons souls is not a bad game design and its not unfair becus you can unlock shortcuts and when you die the enemies respawn but the world doesnt so it is forgiving, you just have to be really patient and take it one step at a time. the second play thru new game++ it got easier to me and finished it in a few hours but man it has so much replayability up to level 1000 thats crazyyy, its really addicting...

the cool thing about demon's souls is the sense that your deaths are because of your mistakes, and not because the game throws crazy stuff like teleporting enemies at you
the backtracking thing after death seems pretty annoying at first, but lots of stages have shortcuts that you can find and unlock
the other tension-creating aspect of the game, you can be invaded by other players in body form who are intent on killing you to get their body back, and the demons in the level will help them too
i rented brutal legend and the moment i was able to control the character, i knew something was horribly wrong and by the time i got to the world itself, i was packing the game up to go return it and play something fun.
I completely agree with you guys on Brutal legend. As soon as I played that first RTS thing, I never played it again. Really sad I bought it on launch day. Sixty dollars I'm not getting back.

I feel like everyone's getting sucked in by this whole "hardcore" crap with Demon's Souls and it's causing people to ignore all of this game's ridiculous flaws. Combat is repetitive, enemy and character design are bland and uninspired, and there is no story to speak of. This game is far too lacking at it's core to be called anything but average.

I wouldn't purchase Borderlands cause it's a bit repetitive, but its not a bad game. Added bonus is the fact that the game is NOT a short game. I played it for a week and I'm not even finish.
Borderlands is JUST okay. The reason is that I HAVE to grind. i have to level grind to do the main quest because the dudes r pretty tough and like GTA u lose money and have to re commute back to where you were when u die. So i get bored and lose track of the main story which makes for a bad game.
That's interesting, I haven't had to grind once. I've been doing all the main quests and side quests, and I've found the progression to be perfect so far.
I grind a lot in the game, but I take things slowly. Borderlands is one of the few games where I actually like level grinding. The combat is so satisfying.
I totally agree with Yuzo on Demon's Soul. Games nowadays are way too easy and not punishable, people got lazy even with fricking games. It reminds me of Diablo 2 Harcore mode.

Gonna disagree with the BL review. Only problem I had was with the individual command tutorial, mainly as I didn't have my wings so I had a hard time selecting the right unit. Otherwise, I liked the progressing difficulty of the ambush sidequests, I like finding new solos and other relics...multiplayer I'll agree, it could have been done better. If you go into 2v2+ you share the same army with your friend. Why can't we have our own stages? Share the fans sure, but I like having my own army.

I feel like everyone's getting sucked in by this whole "hardcore" crap with Demon's Souls and it's causing people to ignore all of this game's ridiculous flaws. Combat is repetitive, enemy and character design are bland and uninspired, and there is no story to speak of. This game is far too lacking at it's core to be called anything but average.

wow, thanks for the heads up with Brutal Legend. I did not know that the latter part of the game was a mashup of an RTS. I'm gona wait until this game to drop to at LEAST half the price b4 I give it a try! I seriously hate RTS's..
And Demon's Souls is awesome, but U2 has taken up ALL of my time, haha. ;)

How about renting it? Warning though... you'll probably finished the game. The RTS is very annoying. The only thing I liked about the part is the ability to fly. I wish I could have traveled that way instead of driving.

Recently the French site objectif-sega put up the purported minutes of a meeting between Sega and Sony, and they contained a few interesting tidbits.
1) Sony wants Sega to provide them with a list of Dreamcast titles they can offer on PSN for digital download, including any exclusives.
2) Sony is working on a PS2 emulator for the PS3 and wants to put all PS2 titles on PSN.
3) Sony is considering putting out a Sonic Blu-ray collectors retrospective for around $99. Sony says...

I thought that to play PS2 games required a hardware that Sony took out of the PS3 systems after the launch and 2nd generations were released to lower the price.
If wrong... it's good. Not great since I still have my games on disc. But the thought of GTA San Andreas on the PS3 is ejaculating... I mean great.

Yeah when I played Borderlands I haven't had to grind at all. I'm a 26 atm and the game is fairly easy solo and awesome co-op

I wouldn't purchase Borderlands cause it's a bit repetitive, but its not a bad game. Added bonus is the fact that the game is NOT a short game. I played it for a week and I'm not even finish.

Borderlands is JUST okay. The reason is that I HAVE to grind. i have to level grind to do the main quest because the dudes r pretty tough and like GTA u lose money and have to re commute back to where you were when u die. So i get bored and lose track of the main story which makes for a bad game.

I grind a lot in the game, but I take things slowly. Borderlands is one of the few games where I actually like level grinding. The combat is so satisfying.

I totally agree with Yuzo on Demon's Soul. Games nowadays are way too easy and not punishable, people got lazy even with fricking games. It reminds me of Diablo 2 Harcore mode.

this actually the 1rst game i have ever played that had such great replay value thru new game plus ect.. That Can say alot to some, because iguess im saying i get bored easily, and this game actually made me want to keep playing after the end, especially for the bad ending and the red eye stone

Yuzo, based on what you said about "Demon's Souls," I am suggesting to you, "Izuna: The Legend of the Unemployed Ninja." It sound like something you might enjoy. it can be brutal though, and it takes a little time to get into it.

I hate the ratings on games, these days all the good games are rated k18.Some stores that have "cool" people at the checkout will let me buy them though. Gamestop wont even sell them to my mum or dad if I am with them there.

In Finland Xbox360 games cost about 65-70 Euros witch is about 96-104 Us dollars. they used to be 60 euros max.
And there are no game rental places here, or at least I have never seen one or even heard of one.

i think that the biggest problem with brutal legend is that they tried to much and mixed the wrong things a hack and slash should mix with a rts!!!

Gonna disagree with the BL review. Only problem I had was with the individual command tutorial, mainly as I didn't have my wings so I had a hard time selecting the right unit. Otherwise, I liked the progressing difficulty of the ambush sidequests, I like finding new solos and other relics...multiplayer I'll agree, it could have been done better. If you go into 2v2+ you share the same army with your friend. Why can't we have our own stages? Share the fans sure, but I like having my own army.
