I saw all of you for the 1st time the other on HD NET, your family is AWESOME, the talent never ends, your talent is great, I love your show, I would love to see your show live.
Watched them perform tonignt along the Welland Canal where they were chauffeured in on a barge amidst the flames scattered along the water. AWESOME performance folks !!!! VERY impressive :)
Yes I know my colours, boobs and the fact that real boobs bounce (God bless 'em). I can't stand the fake ones - squeeze them too hard and they move around back for dancing ; ) Give me real boobs or give me none ; )
I've seen them 3 times, the first when they opened for Shania Twain in 1999. They are also in her "Don't Be Stupid" video. All of them play multiple instruments and Dance too. See them if you get a chance.

Ugh. Slow the fuck down. Speed does not make the song sound better. And neither does the fancy production, the slap bass or the new age lighting. Leahy is the most frustrating fiddle music to listen to because you know the focus isn't on the music. It's the musical equivalent of dumping ten tablespoons of sugar on a ham sandwich. The saccharine overdose just ruins its potential. I'd much rather listen to people who care about the music they're playing, like LAU or Flook or Beolach.
i met two of them in ohio at the dublin irish festival... b/c me and me dad and sis heard em and me dad got excited cause there was 9 of em and the is 10 in me family :)
I've been to several of their concerts and heard this medley played every time and it's always slightly different, except in the fact that it's incredible.
I played with them in Youngstown they played with the symphony there which I'm in and they played this and then they nailed these Christmas tunes. There was even a little guy named Xavier that did the toe dancing and he did a great job. They're very good and very nice people.
I am rather incredulous as to whether any of the Leahys would say that, considering Donnell married a Inverness county native, Natalie MacMaster. They absolutely love Cape Breton, and I am sure they would never disregard its beautiful music. Their mother is from Cape Breton as well. Cheers!
You copied that from Wikipedia; didn't you? I amended the information last year after an initial entry didn't list the touring members and their instruments correctly. The song DA (Stoney Lake & Juniper Island) from the Lakefield album was written as tribute to a dance hall at the lake our cottage is on. We followed the band from their childhood as The Leahy Family, to young adults when their paths diverged, to re-grouping as Leahy in time to open for Shania Twain's 1998 Come On Over tour.
Angus is the fiddler in white, Doug is in blue, Frank Jr. plays drums, Siobheann (Donohue) is on bass, Maria plays guitar, Agnes (Enright) dances and plays keyboards, Donnell is the front man in red and multi-dimensional Erin plays piano, sings, looks gorgeous and steals the show every night. Luv her.
Thanks for the info juniper1962! I agree, Erin is not only talented, but also very pretty. Some day I hope to see their show live...they won't be anywhere near by for a long time. (sigh)
Just saw them in Schenectady, NY. Eleven siblings AND all of them with this kind of incredible talent. Seven of them, three sisters and the four brothers, put on a great show. Can't wait to see them again!!!
