  • Is lynette wearing a Habs tuque?

  • The bass player is Jason Vance, who played on Peace Love Groove and Pave the World (Blue Meanies records). This was right after Mr. Clean got kicked out of the band for getting drunk and screaming curses at the crowd, since SP and BM were on tour together.

  • Skankin' Pickle is what made ska so damn fun in the 90s. So many bands took a cue from the joy of their style. They were the perfect combination of talent and excitement.

  • Why does the vid start in the middle of Larry Smith? Oh well. My favorite Skankin Pickle song anyway. RIP Lynette. She could totally shred. That solo in Anxiety Attack was fucking crazy. I wish I was that good.

  • ...sloppy editing...limitations of equipment when I uploaded it. I would reload it so it would be in HQ but I'd lose close to 25,000 hits. I may have more footage though, I'll need to look.

  • when did lynette die?!?!

  • @Harska09 ANXIETY ATTACK IS MY FAVORITE SKANK N PICKLE SONG.

  • I was a huge fan of this band, and their sound and energy still inspires me. You will be missed Lynette, you inspired many female guitar rockers and punkers back in the day.

You will always remain in our hearts!

Lynette will be forever loved and missed

  • One time at a show I was whining about how my SP Fever tape fell into my morning coffee and she handed me a new tape, poster and a few pins. I think that says a lot.

    Does anyone know what happened?

  • Lynette, I have known you since you were 8 and although I haven't seen you as much the past few years because of circumstances dosen't mean you where not in my heart. We will miss your gentle smile and your laugh. Rest in peace, love Tony

  • This is horrible news. Just heard about it in the Asian Man newsletter. I met Lynette a few times in the early 90's at Skankin' Pickle shows and she appeared on my old TV show with Skankin' Pickle and 78 RPMs. A very cool, nice and laid back person. I didn't know her well but I never heard her say a bad thing about anyone. And I've never heard anything bad about her.

  • why isn't there more?

  • I personally think Mike Mattingly was the best thing in this band. Once he left, they went downhill.

  • tidewater virginia is the ska sanctuary

  • it sure used to be in the 90's

  • awesome band!!

  • Oh the Pickle! They are so much fun live!

  • I sure do miss these guys.

  • Oh fuck man, this is awesome. I miss awesome ska. Skankin' Pickle + Slapstick = most fun ever.

  • man....what happend to ska?>

I liked the rudiments....much more than suicide machines on that Split.... I still have that somewhere. Skankin pickle were great such a diverse band.... never got the chance to catch em....same with many older ska bands. i did see Mu330 when they played with Gerry.

  • Got any Los Rudiments?

  • Nah I got one of those Los bands though... they used to wear wrestling masks...may be Los Alamos not sure but will post some soon. Wish I could find the Buck o Nines that I shot....

  • The Rudiments were friends with Skankin' pickle so Mike put out their split with Suicide Machines on Dill records. You probably would've liked them.

  • s'cool, be sure to check out the Ska Against Racism vids I put up, Mike's all over them. I'm sure I prob saw The Rudiments I saw a million shows with a million opening bands that I forget more than I remember.....

  • whoa, i remember this stuff! holy crap! ha ha ha!

  • This fuckin' band was so awesome-thanks for posting this-it's like I was in a time warp and it was 1992 again...by the time "sing along with..." was released this band had such an amazing catalog of songs and the ABSOLUTE BEST LIVE SHOW

THIS IS MIKE PARK'S record label: asianmanrecords - dot -com

he's a true supporter of music and the DIY thing

  • Isn't it retarded that youtube won't let you post web info? I can't even post the url for another youtube video....

  • if you notice too, the crowd is just kinda sitting there except for that one girl-shit like that used to happen all the time-people didn't know what they had-now it's gone

I'm so wearin' my "good dill tour" shirt tomorrow-if I can find it.

  • It doesn't get any better than Skankin Pickle.

  • true!

  • Wow!!! I need the whole video, please!!! I wish I could back in time.

  • never got to see them, dammit. they didn't make it to the southeast much i don't think. met mike park at some ska show in tampa once. that's one big korean dude.

  • These guys are amazing!! im not that big a fan of ska, but they're up there with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (my fav ska/ska core band of all time) but what got me into skankin pickle was their sound. It reminded me soo much of Primus with the bass playin especially. The bass player is no Les Claypool, but def has got the feel. (on the album Skafunkrastapunk most of all) and the chick singer sounds like Geddy Lee from Rush.

  • What is the first song, anyone? I can't remember it from back in the day...

  • Mike "Bruce Lee" Park-Sax, Vocal

    Lynette "Sky" Knackstedt-Guitar, Vocal

    Chuck "Mod" Phelps-Drums, Vocal

Gerry "Big Jake" Lundquist-Slide Bone, Vocal

    Lars "jellyroll" Nylander-Valve Bone, Vocal

Songs: Larry Smith and I Missed the Bus

  • Mike "Bruce Lee" Park-Sax, Vocal

    Lynette "Sky" Knackstedt-Guitar, Vocal

    Chuck "Mod" Phelps-Drums, Vocal

Gerry "Big Jake" Lundquist-Slide Bone, Vocal

Lars "Jellyroll" Nylander- Valve Bone, Vocal

Song titles; Larry Smith and I Missed the Bus

  • Skankin' Pickle was touring with the Blue Meanies and one or two of their members filled in for the Meanies on this tour, as payback.

If you liked this check out "78" RPM's, some of the same pickle band members went on to start another group! I'm not sure if there is any video of them though.

  • Man, this brings me back. Some of the best live shows I have ever seen. The band had an energy like no other. Was at the notorious Slim's (San Francisco) show when they got banned from the club for fighting with the bouncers on stage! Thankful I got to see them live a handful of times. A BIG THANK YOU for putting this up. Anyone else???

  • 13,000 dollars is alot of food please

  • prolly cause the kids that taped them had it on VHS and never converted them to DVD or uploaded them. I'm sure a lot of their fans taped them, they were cool about it.

Mike Parks shows up in the ska against racism videos with Kemuri and MU330.

  • why are there so few skankin pickle videos

  • im desperate to see them live, but its never gunna happne, so thanxs for this

  • I saw skankin at this small bar in Tampa Fl.

Mike Park was selling T shirts after the show

Less Than Jake opened for them it was one of the best

    shows I've been to

  • ooo

  • This is fantastic!

  • thanks a lot

  • whats the first song called????

  • First song was "Larry Smith"

  • sweet! love those guys! takes me way back.
