  • that looks like a soundcraft mixer - am i right?

  • @lanswipe Nope! It's a Yamaha MX 12/4.

  • I think u should plan your tutorials a little more. And stop apologizing for everything. Also, If ur going to identify something on a board or a device make sure u point to it or describe it a little more in detail, like this red light or that blue knob, etc. Maybe a little whiteboard discussion with arrrows and boxes, etc. before actually showing the gear and equipment. I'm sure ur a fine and experienced audio guy but your tutorials are so generalized, they're not really beginner or intro level

  • @wildnites558

I agree with this guy. I've got a killer set up now, with my guitar equipment. I'm using a 12 slot case, with everything under the sun connected in stereo. BUT I don't know a single thing about this mixing stuff. Your video confused the hell out of me. *Thumbs down*

  • oh yea and where did you get that badass mic skin? thats metal as shit! lol

  • @johnwj666 It's not a skin. It's a limited edition Audix OM2. They're $100.00 at Guitar Center. It's a pretty good mic.

  • So, after you plug the monitor speaker cables into the send and return plugs on the mixer, you run the other end of the cables to the amp? Which plugs do you plug them into? is it the 1/4in inputs next to the xlr inputs? I cant figure this madness out lol. i basically understand how to control the volume goin to them with the mono knob or whatever but just dont understand how to hook them up correctly lol. Can you please help me? lol Im sorry if im annoying you with all the questions

  • @johnwj666 I'm happy to help. The 1/4" aux send goes to your amp. The aux sends are usually on the right side of the mixer. Like I said, when you get all your gear, let me know what you have and I'll talk you through the whole thing. This particular video was kind of confusing. I don't always explain things in the most effective way. I hope this helps you for now.

  • @wrmaplpi thanks dude. youre awesome! i wish i had your patience lol. And i already have the amp, its a qmc rmx 1450. basically the same as yours. Thats what i meant, does the 1/4'' run from the aux send on the mixer into the 1/4'' inputs next to the xlr inputs on the amp? And does one cable run one speaker?

  • @johnwj666 Thanks... Yes.... I think.... Aux send (1/4") to the amp input (1/4"). The inputs on the amp are next to eack other and are usually an xlr and 1/4". Please keep in mind that you must use a prefade aux send. If you use a post fader aux send for your monitors, you will end up affecting the volume of your monitors every time you make an level adjustment to that channel. Unless of course your mixer has the option of changing the auxes from post fader to pre fader. Hope this helps.
