  • Cool cage! My ferret was used to cat litter so we use that, we tried pellets but he dug it all out and dug to the bottom of the pan to do his business :) check out my videos and cage tour just look up: animalcrazed99 and all my videos will come up! Btw my ferret song video is rlly bad I have a terrible voice on LaDida (app)!

  • the pellets r rly cool. they r helpful

  • thats one big mansion.

  • Where did you get the wood stove pellets? They look really helpful! :)

  • @ferretz4ever During cooler months I'll buy them at grocery stores - Safeway, Winco, QFC. They also sell them at Lowes and Home Depot. Year round I can also find them at farm/feed stores since they use them in horse stalls. I swear by them and won't use anything else since I started using them about four years ago. Great for cat litter, especially!

  • Is that cage to big for one ferret? I might get a ferret in the summer time.

  • @Nyokowolf Sure if you've got the $400+ to buy it. It's pretty huge. Please read Ferrets for Dummies before getting a ferret - learn all about them.

  • If i had this cage for a few ferrets I wold not be able to get to the top without a stool

  • You need to tell angie to sell them on etsy.com!

  • I use wood stove pellets too!!

  • I was thinking about getting ferret for ninth birthday. But i got puppy roxy (2011)

  • I'm in love with this set up. I have a double ferret nation cage but its nothing compared to this. Nice to see some people actually take good care of there ferrets unlike people who just " want them" because they think their cute. Thank you for being a kind person and taking good care of them! :]

  • @rachypanda Thanks! I've had this cage for three years. Before that it was one of those Super Pet cages - sooo hard to clean! I've had ferrets for geezus 15 years now!

  • @Ferretocious I really one ferretss. my friend said she would give me her cage and her two ferrets for free! and my mom im trying her to let me have themm i would take so much care of them <3 but do they smell bad?

  • I WANT A FERRET SO BAD!

  • wow they must love that i want a ferret so bad but i really need to start working on ferret proofing my house lol

  • I love Bunnies, Ferrets, Gerbils and Cats. They're my favourite animals to have as pets! =D

  • I bought a very similar ferret cage to this recently, 3 tiers, possibly not as tall in height as this one but other than that the same,, i went to a rescue with the cage to get the ferrets and was told it was too small for even two ferrets :/ i dont understand how you've got all those in there!

  • @Rosaliemarie94 LOL! You're kidding, right? This cage is six feet high, three feet wide and over two feet deep. So please educate yourself and refrain from leaving anymore idiotic comments on my videos.

  • i need a cage like that

  • Cute, I have two ferrets Love them soo much.. Sadly, if one gets sick i won't be able to take them to the vet because I am low on money.. I do spend over an hour with my ferrets, they have vitamins and toys.. So I don't think they'll be getting sick any time soon.. hopefully! Good luck with your furbags! ;)

  • YOur ferrets are SOOOOOOOOOO cute thumbs up if ferrets rock

  • yes i am going to adopt from the rspca in the uk because thats where i live, but when my friends has the kits i am going to help her look after them.

then my dad will let me have 2.

So yes i am going to adopt, i think its wrong that millions of kits are bred whil tons of poor neglected ferrets are waiting in shelters, just to let you know i admire your work with these ferrets.

p.s i did try to convince my friend to adopt but she didn't want to. i'm a bit annoyed with her because of that.

  • can you just have 1 or 2 floors because i think if i get a ferret i would only need 1or 2 floors

  • I love your cage :D

  • Not to ruin you saying for 13 year olds to have ferrets: I have one ferret. She is the best thing I ever invested in. She is sick right now, she is on steroids, but even when she was in pain all she did was lay with me and try to crawl up my arm to give me kisses. She is getting better everyday, and she loves to play. I have had her for about a year now and she is 2-2 and a half. I took her in because I wanted one for over a year. I saved for about 8 months to get one.

  • would u recomend me to get for 1 ferret?

  • Thats like a freakin hotel for ferrets Id be all like ROOM SERVICE -Nom Nom nom on Ferret food-

  • @TheUnownerable LOL!!! What's funny is with all those places to sleep they mostly tend to all pile up in ONE hammock or two. Sadly I only have two of the five shown here now (Jack in the red hammock and Pan snoozing in the barrel) . Recently added two young females - Bitzy and Mitzy - so now only four in this huuuuge cage.

  • that cage is amazing

  • This video helped me decide for a cage for all my fuzzy friends and I love it!!! If u have ferrets or planning on getting some this cage is for u! Its well built and roomy for ferrets

  • 2:04 awwww that looks EXACTLY LIKE MY FERRET MICKEY!!!! DID YOU STEAL HIM!?!?!?!

  • @Ferretocious Okay. Thanks!

  • @Ferretocious - I'm aware of the vet bills.. and I thought I could use shredded newspaper because I read it from the internet.Guess I was wrong.. It's not that I can't afford it. So the pellets are the best thing to use???

  • This cage is amazing. My boys just love it.i had to go out and get it after this watching this. I love that they can't fall off the loft. To many cages have those lofts without any walls to protect your futures fuzzies from a deadly fall. I had the super pet my first home or whatever, and a horrible accident came with that cage... I will never own anything without good quality and full shelves. I honestly can't find anything wrong with this cage.

  • @MissKiara98 - By saving money, I don't know what you'll do but I have shredded paper that I'm usin for litter and under that I use just regular newspaper. You can also MAKE a hammock by buying small sheets of fleece from an art crafts store and cut holes add shoe string and voila!

  • @FerretInfoGirl Shredded paper is HORRIBLE for litter! It's messy and does nothing to absorb the moisture or neutralize the odor. If you can't afford a $4-$5 40 pound bag of wood stove pellets then you shouldn't have a ferret. how on earth are you going to afford the inevitable vet bills once the ferret ages?????

  • plz plz plz respond back. Im turning 13 this year and i wuz wondering how much all of ure supplies cost, for my birthday im getting 500 dollars, and my mom says that taking care of a ferret is to much work. Ive tons of time to take care of them and i will allow my ferret to roam around in my room. I have tons of experience with animals( i have a guinea pig right now and hermit crabs. ive been owning animals since i was 5) im very responsible!! plz reply and tell me if im capable of owning one :)

  • @MissKiara98 DON'T get one. The ferret will kiill the guinea pig. Ferrets are horrible pets for kids your age as you're just about to start going out more with friends and dating and the poor ferret will end up ignored. SO many ferrets end up dumped at shelters by families whose kids wanted one then ended up ignoring it.

  • @MissKiara98 plus its hard to find vets who will operate on ferrets and ones that do charge thousands of dollars for even routine procedures, depending on what kind of ferret you get you will run into different problems marshalls ferrets have really high instances of adrenal and insulinoma. the surgery for adrenal starts at 1000 bucks :( and ive seen ferrets as young as 1 year have it

  • I bought this cage bcuz of this video and it's the best cage ever! Great price great cage

  • thats good

  • I have one ferret. Would the "2-Story Ferret Townhome" by Quality Cages suffice for a single ferret?

  • where do i find this cage?? haha

  • That is the coolest ferret cage ever.

  • That's really good!

  • Finally someone who knows how to house and care for ferrets correctly! You cannot believe all the videos I have been watching that do not know a crap about what they are talking about!

  • @AnimalAndPetExpert LOL thanks. I've had them for over 13 years so slightly more educated about them than most!

  • What size are the snuggle barrels?

  • @TheFerretPage98 Google Creations by Angie and you'll find the snuggle barrels.

  • Wow! $5 for a 40lb bag? I just discovered wood pellets for my rats. I bought a bag at PetCo for about $8 and it was a MUCH smaller size.

Thank you so much. This will save me a lot of money. : )

  • @KascadeKrystee Well that's because once they put a pet's face on the label they jack up the price about eight times what they should be charging!

  • Finally someone with experience with ferrets who actually replies still!

I have a few questions for you!

Fist off, I'm trying to get my mom to lt me get a ferret, she's the only one I need to convince! She says they smell and there related o rodents, and I explained to her over an over why they smell and how to get rid of he smell as well as that they are weasles and hun rodents. Do you have any tips on convincing her further?

And~ How big shpould a cage be for one carpet shark? (ferret)

  • @dropletkit How old are you? I never like to recommend ferrets to kids because far too many of them beg and beg for a ferret then quickly get tired of all the care they require (DAILY litter scooping, DAILY out of cage play sessions SEVERAL TIMES A DAY) So many of them end up dumped at shelters by families that never wanted them but gave in to the kid's whining.

  • im thinking of buying a ferret do they smell ? out the house?

  • PEOPLE - stop asking what brand and model this cage is! It says so in both the video AND the video description! Geezus!

  • Where have you buy it ?

And what the name of it ? Can I buy it on a online shop ?

    love fabbl

  • @fabbl24x7 You can only buy them directly from Quality Cages. I can't post links here so just Google that. This one is the three level Ferret Mansion with black powder coat. Currently sells for $390.75 + shipping.

  • Sorry I forgot to add, that is a wonderful cage, and wonderfully decorated. We have cages here called ferret kingdoms, they are australian versions of the Ferret Nation.

  • @Ingiequeen Yeah I love this cage! First geez 9-10 years of ferret ownership I had a Super Pet cage and it was SO hard to clean!!!! This one's a breeze!

  • The ferrets in the states must be pretty unhealthy...It is very rare here for a ferret to have any kind of problem (Australia)

  • @Ingiequeen There's very few breeders here in the States. Most come from Marshall Farms so there's lots of inbreeding. Diseases show up as early as three to four years - Lymphoma, Adrenal Disease, Insulinoma, Cardiomyopathy. And I just lost a rather young ferret - only four years old just last week. Puck suddenly became ill and it ended up his kidneys were failing.

  • @Ferretocious

That is so sad :(. I'm assuming Marshall farms is like some kind of puppy mill for ferrets? I think I have heard of them before, they are really bad. I have currently 1 ferret, and I am on the waiting list through the Victorian ferret society for a really mellow rescue as a friend for him. He is housed in a ferret kingdom (basically a Ferret Nation)

What diet do your ferrets get?

  • @Ingiequeen My guys eat a grain free food with 45% meat protein. I also give them chicken baby food occasionally.

  • @Ferretocious

    What Brand is it?

  • I have been thinking about getting a ferret, but do they do better in pairs or can you have just one ferret?

  • @imabadspeler Better to have either one or three, actually. Two is a bad number as ferrets tend to get very bonded and if one dies the remaining ferret can end up losing the will to live and dying, too. But only get what you can AFFORD to care for. As ferrets age they are VERY expensive to care for. I have one that requires twice daily meds and she and another ferret also need a shot once a month. My vet bills alone for those two are over $100 each month. Also just spend $550 on another.

  • @Ferretocious Thank you! I am not planning on getting one for a while.

  • Mine is something like thsi, but it's outside :P Mansions! They do deserve the best.

  • @HerMajestyTheLlama Outside? Yikes - why?

  • @Ferretocious My mum wouldn't let me have them inside. :/

  • @HerMajestyTheLlama then you shouldnt have them.

  • @katelovesyou666 Agree. I can't imagine how filthy the cage is since it's "out of site, out of mind"! Poor ferrets :(

  • @katelovesyou666 How? I live in the uk and alt of owners keep ferrets outside. They have a huge protected cagte and run, they're healthy etc. O.o

  • Thanks for the tips and info. It was very helpful. I've been studying up about ferrets for about a year now and I still feel like I don't know enough. (so LOL @ danielanimales1's 3 months). I don't know anyone w/ a ferret, so its hard to see things for myself other than trying to read it from the web or a book. But hopefully I'll get one(or two) soon as I'm confident enough to say that "I know ferrets". Your video is much appreciated.

    Anyway.

  • I want your cage!! Its so nice!! Hehe I love your ferrets too!! =]

  • does anyone know a good size cage for three ferrets im thinking 35x21 or something around the area i have a nice big 50x41 space so yeah any sugestion and links would be cool

  • Thank you very much for the tip on the wood stove pellets! We are going to seriously consider using them, because we have to buy litter for both the cats and the ferrets and it gets quite expensive... By the way, loved the cage tour, it looks so cozy!

  • My dentist's assistant is offering to give away her ferret + its cage, toys, supplies, etc for free and I have my dad convinced, but not my mom. How do i convince my mom? i understand that ferrets are expensive and hard work.

  • @SpyderT22 I suggest that you take your mom to see the ferret and let her play with it and maybe write a little essay on ferrets showing your mom how much you know about ferrets get books from your local library have you ever had a pet before? if not maybe barrow a friends pet and show your mom that you can take care of a pet try borrowing a friend's cat or dog because ferrets are more like cats and dogs than hamsters and rabbits I hoped this helped and good luck!

  • They gave u the cage for FREE??cool say to the people who work with u to send me one!!!!Because I want a ferret and mabey Im going to get one!!!Hey one question do wood pellets dont cause respiratory difficulties to ferrets?????I want one so badly it hurts!!!

  • @danielanimales1 I've raised over $3,000 for them over the past few years with a CD I recorded. So sorry - you're not getting one. And no - wood pellets don't hurt them. Wood SHAVINGS are what are the problem. Ferrets are a LOT of work and VERY expensive to care for. Buy Ferrets for Dummies and read it cover to cover before considering getting one. You won't die if you don't get a ferret but the ferret COULD if you don't educate yourself about them first.

  • @Ferretocious sorry if Im being rude or mean but...IM ALREADY VERY

EDUCATED ABOUT FERRETS!!!!!!!!!I have been studing them like for about 3 months!!!!

  • @danielanimales1 LOL! Three months! Wow - such effort! Read "Ferrets For Dummies" cover to cover. I'm sure you haven't done that and don't have a clue about Lymphoma, Adrenal Disease, Insulinoma and Cardiomyopathy.

  • im geting a ferret just 1 ferret how big of a cage dou think i would need

  • Wicked cage I am loving the endless amounts of hammocks and toys it looks wicked!! I wanna sleep there! lol

  • awesome video, I enjoyed watching. cute furries ;)

where on earth did you get that cage? I love it! is it that big or did you order expansions? I'm looking into getting my own pair of fuzzlets so if you could answer where you got it & the price then it would be really helpful but if not there's always google.

  • @rubberduckyily Read the description of the video - it's in there. I think it runs around $350 but I got it free from the shelter I volunteer with.

  • oh thank you this cage is beautiful by the way

  • hi um i was wondering what kind of tiles you used because i think its a great idea.

  • @ACCFTedWerdz Just cheap peel and stick ones from Lowe's. You can easily cut them with a utility knife to fit. I think I paid like 50c a tile and it took like six per floor I think.

  • Umm i have a question

what kind of ferret is jack? because i want a ferret and he is the kind of color i want.

  • @ACCFTedWerdz It's called "Silver". He was adopted as an adult along with all my ferrets.

  • @ACCFTedWerdz It's called "Silver". He was adopted as an adult along with all my ferrets.

  • Cool! :D Can the ferrets get from level to level or is it enclosed? And could you please check out our cage video? Thanks so much! We love your vids!

  • @SillySkipper they can move from level to level and as I showed, you can separate the levels with the lockiing ramps if you want to.

  • @Ferretocious Wow that's great!

  • I wish you were around to babysit my ferrets. :(

  • @Tummyboxx LOL! I wish I had TIME! With all my pets, running a biz, my boyfriend and volunteering I don't have much time for more pets!

  • do u ever let them out to play around the house by the way kool cage plaese write backk kute ferretz!!!!

  • @koolsv1998 Of COURSE I do! They have at least two play sessions with free roam of the house a few hours each time every day.

  • you seem like a really good ferret mom(:

  • I saw the cage on their site and I'm just wondering if it's holding up good? is it a sturdy cage? do the levels move when they climb on?

    thanks

  • @OtakuXxChan LOL! No. This is the best cage on the market. It's STEEL.

  • I have ferrets mine is white named casper and a sable name farah

  • No, no and no if they're litter trained. Ferrets only stink if you 1) don't have them descented, 2) bathe them too often, 3) rarely or never clean their bedding and 4) rarely clean their litter. My ferrets only smell of the pine wood stove pellets I use for their litter.

  • are ferrets dirty or smelly? dont they poop everywhere?

  • @lilpackerfreak Ferrets smell if they are on a bad diet... if you feed them a good ferret food they don't stink!!! 8 in 1 Ultimate is a good one but a better one would be Evo ferret or cat food!!!

  • your video is very informational my daughter came home with books on ferrets from school, and I was thinking of getting both of my girls ferrets, and I'm also doing my research on costs, not too bad and about the pellets really good idea very useful Thank you very much very very helpful

  • Read the description of this vid - and the comments were someone else asked this.

  • where you bought this cage ?!

  • thx 4 putin that link in description i realy wont 1 now

  • WANT one.

  • hello, where can i purchase this cage? Add me as a friend and we can mail back and fourth! THANKS!

  • You can only get it directly from the manufacturer in Oregon - Quality Cages.

  • Thanks for the tip on wood pellets! We buy them by the ton for our stove, much cheeper than the news paper pellet litter! ^..^

  • Yeah I hate the smell of the wet newspaper litter. Reminds me of coming back home after vacation and finding soggy newspapers in the driveway... that icky pulpy smell LOL

  • lol, your right it does smell like that! I can tell you love and take excellent care of your ferrets! I wish everyone did. I just adopted my little Gypsy girl this past September. She is a sweet little girl that spent most of the time in a cage by herself before I had her:( Now she is out 2 times a day following me around, stealing my daughters barbies and hiding them in her "secret" spot. Her best pal is my German Shepherd Zen. Zen thinks shes her puppy and is always trying to clean her=)

  • how much is it?

  • We just bought our fuzzies a brand new cage today! Ferret Nation model 142. Definitely a big improvement! Only around 200$. We loved your cage though, just couldn't find a cheap model close by. (:

  • I'm not trying to smart mouth you but i don't think a ferret can take down my 5 1/2 foot 93 pound savanah monitor

  • @billybobownage Then you need to be sure the lizard doesnt eat the ferrets.

  • @XxAmayaSanxX I know i am just saying and they are in seperate rooms

  • Hi, nice cage I had a few questions about ferrets, I'm more of a reptile guy but they are so cut I'm looking to buy a few.

  • A "few"? Be sure you can afford it. As ferrets age they can be VERY expensive to care for. Buy Ferrets For Dummies and read it cover to cover. Also note that they're carnivores and will kill your repiles if given the chance.

  • where can u get them at??? da cage??

  • Only directly from Quality Cages. This one runs around $400 since it has the powder coated steel finish and all three levels.

  • i lost 2 ferrets over the weekend:( PS do you know how much angoras are

  • Lost them? How???

  • they died

  • How in one weekend?

  • One had a seziure and died and one got sick and died a day later

  • Geezus. Had they been to a vet? Sounds like the first one maybe had untreated insulinoma.

  • Both of them the one who had a seizure went to the vet a day before and the sick one went to the vet 2 days before

  • Hmm that seems a bit hard to believe. Two ferrets dying within days of eachother. How old were they? And had they had regular checkups? Blood Glucose tests? You don't sound very upset - you're already asking about new ferrets.

  • What type of floring do i need to use im tempted to use wood shavings but i dont know HEEEEEEELP!!

  • What little do you know about ferrets that you'd use shavings? Buy the book Ferrets For Dummies cover to cover. You should have done this BEFORE getting one. I'm betting you also think ferrets are "rodents" and not carnivores? The video tells what I use for the floors. I've also added cloth to cover the tile to keep it warmer for their feet.

  • You're Obviously A Very good Ferret Owner and I would Turn anybody over to this video if they were looking to Learn more about Ferrets. NICELY DONE

  • Thanks. This video really didn't tell much about ferrets. Anyone considering getting one should read Ferrets For Dummies COMPLETELY before getting one. Ferrets are VERY expensive pets. I spent over $2K last year in vet bills for mine.

  • that cage is huge! blimey, how long did it take you to set all that up?

  • The cage itself separates into three cages so that's ow I got it. It was already assembled since I got it gently used from my friend's shelter. The bedding's easy to put in and change out since there's lots of places to hook things. I now keep cloth on the tile covered floors to make it warmer on their paw pads LOL

  • thats small...

  • LOL! Are you on crack?? It's 3 feet wide, 2 feet deep and 6 feet high - largest cage on the market, dumbass.

  • is it okay to use cat litter for the litter box

  • Clay/clumping litter - NO. Wood stove pellets - YES.

  • I've never had rats but I think they're VERY cute. Got to snuggle one that was a shelter I was working an event at. They seem really smart.

  • I love my rats just as many ppl love many different animals. The tails are just one reason I love them. Every one has different taste and I love unique animals. They're tails are cute to me but are weird and scary to others. I find their tails very interesting because if a predator grabs them by the tail they can detach it (kind of creepy but cool) so they can get away. I say that is a awesome way of survival that is just one of the reasons I love rats. Also their way of hiding things lol

  • hi,i love this cage.lol i cant stop watching this vid:]i was woundering how much is the cage, whats it called, and where could u get it?thanx 4 all the help:]

  • wow ferretocious, that is just amazing! or as my son says. TAA-DAAA .. AAMAAAZZZIINNGGGGGGGG!!! That is so neat. i've always wanted a ferret since i was very very young, i would go and sit in a pet store for hours before they close and play with the ferrets there. i so hope i can get one someday. i really like the mansion and will be favoriting this video to fall back on in the near future. (i've subscribed) 5*

  • I love this cage, but is it sturdy? because I have a ferret nation and I have two boy ferrets and the ferret nation is an excellent cage but I like them to have alot of food and litter areas and cool beds and there isnt alot of room.. so is that cage a good choice?

  • Yes - VERY. It's probably the best made ferret cage there is. Most shelters use these cages. It's nice to be able to lift up the ramps and separate the cage into three separate cages if you want. It's very useful when you have a sick ferret and want to monitor food and water intake and the litter box or just don't want other ferrets bothering it. You can also clean litterboxes while the ferrets are still in the cage - just lift the ramp lock them out of that level.

  • Do you know what prices these cages run? I'd love to have that cage for my new coming boys ^.^" I can't wait for them :D I'll have them seperated for a while just in case one of them has (ECE? I think it is) and I'll rut them run around while I'm home from school. My poor poor rat boys keep looking at me like "U said the F word again." every time I mention geting my ferret boys soon :D

  • This one runs around $350. You're going to get ferrets and you already have RATS? That would be VERY cruel for you to have carnivores like ferrets in a home with rats. Your rats will be terrified from just the scent of the ferrets and if the ferrets get hold of your rats they WILL kill them.

  • Nah I'm keeping my rats far far away from the ferrets, plus they're cage is going to be in a seperate room. Well the ferrets cage will be in my room while my rats cage is in the living room. And I already knew that if the ferrets got a hold of my rats it wouldn't be good news. But... I am making sure for both of my animals safety.

  • i've been looking everywhere for that cage, but i cant seem to find it? is it designed by marshall?

  • No - read the video description. It's the Ferret Mansion by Quality Cages. You won't find it at pet stores or ferret supply stores online. You need to order it from Quality Cages in Portland, OR. This particular cage runs around $300.

  • I have the same blue stripy bed. Kelly likes to cuddle under the pillow I have in there and sleep.

  • Buy Ferrets for Dummies and read it cover to cover BEFORE getting one. They're a LOT of work - requiring several out of cage play sessions EVERY DAY and vet bills can get incredible as they get older.

  • I put vinyl tiles down on the bars so it makes it much easier to clean. The litter boxes I scoop daily and then dump out entirely every third day. Bedding is washed once a week or so.

  • Where did you buy that? If the shelter gave you instuctions for any resons can you email it to me or even email me on anything about it?

    thanks

  • It was given to me by a shelter that I fundraise for. She was downsizing to just be a hospice so she had an extra cage.

As the description it's a Quality Cage Ferret Mansion. You can buy it from the manufacturer - just Google it.

  • Comment removed

  • are you KIDDING me? The Quality Cage Ferret Mansion? Most shelters use these cages since they're so EASY to clean. Did you put tile down on the floors? Did you use litterboxes? How often did you empty then?

  • Comment removed

  • No. I said what it was AND it's in the video description - it's the Quality Cages Ferret Mansion.

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry for some reason I kept misreading the description...This will be great for my five fuzzys :)

  • Great promoting for Angie, yay!! We also use the wood pellets and love them. We get them either at Tractor Supply or Ark Country Store. They are both feed/supplies stores. That's a great cage too. We are still using our very first cage (Marshall Mansion) and also have two Ferret Nation cages, one with an added unit, for a 3-level. The FN's are so easy to clean. Really informative video!!

  • She's got these two cuddle bowls I just must get. Saw them at Little Dudes shelter the other day - they're sooo cute.

  • this is amazing you really no how to treat your ferrets i am just wundering could you give me any idea on how to make my ferrets happer ? x

  • Come join my forum - link's on the profile or Google Ferretocious Forum.

  • Ive been using the pellet stove pellets for cat little for years. Not only is it biodegradable, but it really does a good job of absorbing the urine smell. Plus I dont have to worry about the cats tracking it into my bed like they used to do with regular litter.

  • Well it's not REALLY biodegradable. Biodegradable would mean you can put it out in your garden or compost it and that it will break down and not harm the environment. Ferrets and cats are carnivores and their feces can contain parasites from the meat. So you shouldn't be putting it in your garden, yard waste recycle bin, etc.

  • Ah good to know; I know I liked the fact that they had no chemicals in them and I didnt have to worry about it making my cats sick. LOL Plus they are so big it is really hard to get stuck in paws to be tracked all over the house.

  • that cage is awesome! but i still love my ferret nation cage <3

and the wood pellets! wouldnt know what id do w/out them!!!!!

  • That's a nice cage :O Fancy. It's like my friend's chinchilla cage. :U She loves that thing.

Of course Jack was sleeping. XD

  • I still totally want that cage. I am content, as are the ferrets with their Ferret Nation. I agree that FN is a bit overrated as far as ferrets go, but I'd assume they're perfect for Rats...big rats, though. ; )

Also. I was always afraid of using any kind of wood based litters for my animals, but these sound good, so hell, I may just have to take a ride to Home Depot to check it out.

I'm spending $10 on 10lbs of paper based pellets currently and it's killing me. >8C
