Get down to a certain part, see women and children running, music stops then a high-pitched "AIEEEEEE!" music briefly starts back up, stops again "AIEEEEEE!" again. I bust a gut each time I get to that part.
Huh, when I was little this sounded very different...I used to play this on my Sega Mega Pack CD...good times.....too bad all the games would quit after a period of time and then you couldn't play again -_-
This music is so bad ass! I've never been able to beat this game; the castle at the end is so hard, because you basically go through the whole game again, with like no health!
@dubj630 be very careful and spam charge attacks at the big guys cause beating them "fair" especially Death Adder is almost impossible. i always hated fighting that bastard cause he could summon a dragon several times and you only got one IF you were Tyris Flare AND had full magic >_<
Golden Axe had some of the best music. I remember having the 3 in 1 cartridge with this, Streets of Rage and Revenge of Shinobi. Three of the BEST games on the MegaDrive.
Music is almost identical to the arcade original which I only heard recently. I watched a playthrough of the arcade version and the sound effect are superior to the Mega Drive version's garbled sore throat scream and shoddy sounds passing for effects. Well I guess the reason is it was crammed into a 4 Mbit Cartridge.
@tolani05 Not the cart size, hardware limitations. The DAC is used to play back the death screams, in which voices that usually use the DAC sound garbled. But it's the best they could have done. (At the time at least, this was one of the first Genesis games released anyways.)
Anyone ever notice how similar this song is to van halens "I'll wait". I was playing this and hopped in the car and heard the ladder. Also chceck out my food video. It's awesome
The best version IMO. I own this game on the 6-Pak cart for my Genesis. :3 My friend gave me his model 1 Genesis with a few games for a broken NES basically. xD
It's amazing how close they reproduced the original coin-op version of this BGM on the Genesis. Compare the two, they sound really close, with the coin-op having a slight edge. Impressive considering the Genny hardware was inferior to most of Sega's state-of-the-art coin-op tech.
Sniff.. This game is awesome. I have played this so many times through. Sigh, and they had to release the short arcade version on the 360. :( Still played it alot though. I had the long PC-version on my old windows 95 computer back then, and damn it was awesome. I miss it. :)
what? they dont have console version from this game in xbox store? what a dissapointment! i mean, at least wii has that console version, which is longer...i think
I don't have a 360, unfortunately! 'twould be great to play some of the ol' classics on an emulator with you though. Golden Axe, SoR, Road Rash, Mickey & Donald in the World of Illusion, etc.!
