  • Rockford amp? And what song?

  • @tragikzmd Description.

  • DO WANT.

  • I was actually moving back in my seat cuz thos looked like they were gonna explode

  • I like turtles

  • LOL subs at the dyno

  • ^^^ I run my bass on the head unit on negative and let the amp do the work

  • That ain't mo king kong in the trunk...Thats a freaking dirt bike haha

  • I wish they would make spherical subs lol

  • @spongah The CVX.

  • V-8 engine sound :D

  • kool

  • name music please :/

  • here is the test in the vid /watch?v=y0d3xN29tMM

  • Anyone else expecting a POP! at the end? hahaha Nice bro

  • square subs can take more abuse than round

  • name song please???

  • @MultiW8 Read the videos description.

  • you do know circles are stronger than squares. i got a 12inch circle sub, had it for over a year and still going strong

  • @brazzr Did you know that Giraffes are tall. That seemed to be about as relevant as what you said.

  • @brazzr Square shaped subs have a greater surface area and are therefore able to push more air than a circular sub. :)

  • @captaincasey101 yes but that has nothing to do with what i said lol

  • @brazzr eh. i had some beer. lol whatever. mmm

  • @brazzr the square ones are actually stronger but the circle ones have better sound quality

  • @brazzr square has more diameter (bigger than circles), draw a 12 inch square n draw a 12inch circle, suare's bigger

  • @derwinmicheal my comment had nothn to do with whats bigger

  • @brazzr it doesnt matter what speaker size or shape, with the right setup and amp, + good sound quality

  • Don't round subs last longer cause they distribute the vibration unlike the square ones that keep it all at the corners so they tear easier??

  • @jeff77534 There is more than adequate support at all four corners to keep them supported and the movement linear under normal operating conditions.

  • nice subs

  • pretty fancy set up you got there, much more than i would need.

  • To me, it sounds like a car with one gear...or the gear didn't shift yet ;)

  • Watching subs flex is so fun :]

  • Square subs push more air and go lower?

I'm sorry, but that's just fucking jackassery.

  • @agovu2 think about it you idiot. its simple geometry: if you measure just the length, not the diagonal, of a square, and set that equal to the diameter of a circle, the square obviously has more area and thus moves more air. and yes, the kicker l5s and l7s are made to have a larger possible excursion magnitude by design than other models, specifically for producing lower frequency sounds at higher decibels.

read up on your common knowledge, broski.

  • Yes your right i suppose i was just saying the kicker amps push out more than they are rated for anyways but it kills my subs. we have a tiny zx600.1 and it blew a 12 L7 and a 12 L5 and we had it rechecked by car tunes which installed it in the first place and they said it was just turned up to high.

  • @Stephiie122509 Well if you had the gain up too high then there's a good chance you sent a clipped signal to the sub(s) and therein blew them eventually. Kicker amps usually rate 75-150 watts over which is nice but its not much.

  • i'm getting my first car soon and i wanted to know what setup you would reccomend the most like headunit amp and sub combo?

  • @ttrerifsa1 Whats your budget and what are you looking to get from your "system"

  • @VolcomEntertainment my budget is probably around 500 dollars give or take and i'm not looking for the loudest system i'm looking for like a really clean sounding bass and a system thats going to be dependable

  • @ttrerifsa1 Well that's not a lot to work with so I hope you'll be installing it yourself or know someone who will do it for next to nothing.

  • @VolcomEntertainment nah i know how to install it kinda and my friend knows how to install them for sure i just need to know what to buy

  • @ttrerifsa1 i'm going to let you know right now if you want clean sound then don't get 2 12" subs. extremely unnecessary. you should really consider a single 12 or 2 10's or one really nice10. any more any you won't hear your mids and highs so the balance will be off considerably. although multiple subs is cool all it is is overkill. you'll end up destroying sound quality and clarity.

that's as far as subs go. you gotta remember what you hear in the store is not the tight space of a car.

  • @ttrerifsa1 Yeah, I overpaid because like the video guy I didn't know much about sound systems. Back to the point I paid $800 for 6 infinity door speakers, an alpine head unit, and installation from best buy. I've now ordered my bass system, which consists of two 2010 12" kicker cvr comp vr's, a custom sealed box, a 1200 watt amp install kit, and the Kicker ZX850.2 R amp. SInce I know more I got all that for only $580. I've got a friend who pro installs doing it for me this weekend. imbebumppin!

  • I found the brutus 1600 you were talking about and found out that I could afford it. I appreciate your help. I'm using 4 gauge wire, will that be sufficient or is a must I upgrade?

  • I'm getting 2 of the 15 L5's. They have a 750 rms each. Will a mono 1000.1 kicker amp push them without the amp having problems?

  • @glennrmstrng youll want the zx1500.1 for those two at least.

  • @VolcomEntertainment My next best option with my budget is a Hifionics 1200.1. Which would be more efficient to use? I know Kicker amps are generally underated but Hifonics have always carried a good reputation as well

  • @glennrmstrng I guess if you absolutely cant save up for the 1500.1 or at least the Brutus 1600 watt model then get the zx1000.1 and have good electrical, I personally wouldnt put two subs wanting 750 rms EACH on an amp I know wont produce for than maybe 1100rms on SOLID electrical.

  • @VolcomEntertainment

I found another Hifonics amp that I could afford thats 1500 watts but it's not a brutus. Its a HFI1500D. Would that do better?

  • @glennrmstrng Id shy away from anything hifonics tahts not Brutus or BRZ series, those are the equivelant of skim milk, just do it right the first time even though it may delay your plans. That or search high and low.

  • @glennrmstrng i think the 1000.1 will work cause honestly i have a 1200.1 on 4 12inch audio pipes and its more than enough power so there is no reason it shouldnt and im hitting well over 150 spl check mine out (Stephiie122509)

  • @Stephiie122509 Of course it'll "work" He'll get bass out of a 500 watt amp but if he wants to bring them to at least their thermal handling potential then he'll make the smart choice and get something CEA rated for at least 1500 watts rms.

  • @glennrmstrng look at my vids i just got a brutus 1201 and two l5 kicker 12s wired em @ 1ohm and they hit hard and clean there all i need

  • nice set up how big is youre box, im going to get some 15" kicker L7's soon. I have the round 15's now also from kicker

  • @ATultralight I dont even remember but I know that box was a good deal too small, check the specs from kickers website for whats recommended.

  • @ztkRaptoR lol yeah they are.

  • How can i get these 2 15" grills?

  • @profect010 ebay

  • another quick question before i open my amp because i can still return it.... my amp i have right now at 2-Ohm Power Rating 1x1300 While the subs watts peak/rms is 1500/750 each. I just came across this 2500 watt amp.. 2 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan. My question is which one is better to use for my particular subs?

  • @1985swish What amp is it

  • @VolcomEntertainment Hifonics HFI2500D 2500W Mono Class D Amplifier...But i also just a SOUND STORM (EV23000) 2 CHANNEL AMP which seems perfect because " •max power, 2 ohm 1500w x 2 "......Im not sure the difference between the x1 or x2 besides their channels. But does x2 mean it feeds both subs 1500 watts?

  • @1985swish No it means divided up and youll see at best 80% of the rated power in a perfect world, Ive never heard of that brand but if you cant afford the BRZ2100.1D from HIFONICS then your HFI2500D will do fine, Should've gotten two Dual 4 ohm subs and wired it to one ohm on the amp for "2500" watts and just dropped the gains all around that way at least youve got some headroom.

  • @VolcomEntertainment yeah if thats the best amp for my subs besides the Kicker 10ZX15001 1500W. Then im on board because the kicker is out of my price range.

  • i just bought pretty much the same set up (2) L5 15" kickers with a 2009 HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi2010D 2000W Amp. Now my question is im not sure the amp kit to get for it a couple of my friends are recommending a SQK0 STINGER SOUND QUEST 1500 watt 0 GAUGE AMP KIT AMPLIFIER WIRE?? Im just looking for someone elses opinion

  • @1985swish They have the right idea with a 1/0 kit, I personally would go with a KNU concepts 1/0 kit or the Kicker PKD1 1/0 kit, both are very nice regardless of opinion.

  • @VolcomEntertainment alright thanks a lot ill search ebay for them

  • What does it matter if the system is looooooong gone. No one wud care anyway. it seems to me that u r embarrassed to show your system.

  • @weewoodeal My system is on youtube publicly with more than half a million views....on purpose. Ya motha' must have had butter fingers.

  • DAMN! thats like a ship taking off

  • whooowww!!!!O_o

  • HAHA.. I dont care for square subs or kicker for that matter but I always enjoy watching a square sub move its so different than a round woofer...

Anyway...good setup. Resonate test are cool to play.

  • is this a prelude?? reason me asking is because im looking at a 2 dr and i have 2 15" cvx's and wondering if they will fit or not.

    Thanks

    o and nice vid.

  • @SMpaintball78 nah its a chevy aveo haha

  • Thats pretty nice

  • I plan on gettin 2 of these soon but I wanna max out the power put through them. Who makes a good 4000 watt peak amp and how much?

  • @dc3194 Well theyre only 1500 Max each and 750rms so I'd go for a solid 2000rms amp and do some really good gain matching. The HIFONICS BRZ2100.1D is a solid amp that wont break the bank.

  • Hey i have a HiFonics Brutus 1600 watt 25th anniversary amp... HiFonics And Kicker Rocks!!!!!

  • i have 2 of these in my impreza and they do a great job they have very smooth clear bass (best woffers ive ever used great for hair tricks it makes my hair fly quite well hehe XD)

doing high excurstion tests and playing music with alot of bass is hard on any speaker run them at a nominal volume and your speakers will last alot longer but dont be afrade to crank it up every now and then ^-^

    thanks for sharing

  • dang those things are nice

  • holy hell thats so amazing

  • Lol sounds like Corvette on dyno

  • I will never understand why people abuse their equipment like this. Theres a lot of excursion vids on youtube, whats the point ? I can make a speaker flop without making much sound at all. means nothing whatsoever when looking for a speaker

  • @bl4h1 IT's hardly abuse for these, And if a quality subwofer can "flop" fast enough while retaining a decent amount of linearity then it becomes desirable to many people when looking for a subwoofer.

  • @bl4h1 Do you even understand what a resonance test is and why it is used? There's a purpose Bass Mekanik designed this song, and the use in mind is not for abuse.

  • I understand what i happening her...what i do not understand is the larger sine wave that makes it move so slowly while the smaller faster waves increased d(^_^)b

  • they are 2 l7s with a 1700 hifonics amp or some shit i was going to build a box from the centerconsole and make the box extend to the back seat, i have a shitty mtx 1000 amp i could use too, but i think the mtx is shit

  • im sure you would know, on ebay right now theres a kit, two kicker 15 squares in the box with an amp. for 900 good deal or would you say no?

  • @HnEhonda L5 or L7, what amp. look up the prices for the subs individually, find a decent box, find that amp and see if its cheaper than 900. Im pretty sure i can tell you right now the amp isnt nearly good enough.

  • thye not in the right box

  • @LEXUSCLASS Everyone has an opinion. adn yur grammur is not rite.

  • Ok im getting 2 typr r 15's... bare with me i have a quick question... should i get the 2 ohm or the 4 ohm. The amp is either going to be the alpine MRP M200 by alpine or the BRZ 2400 hifonics brutus. Any suggestions on either the amp, which is better, and what ohm for the subs. The help is greatly appreciated. ( the box is sealed)

  • @WhiteShadow0215 Well going by the published specs for each amp if you got two Type R 15's at 4-Ohms and wired it for a 2 ohm load on the MRPM2000 it will give you 2000 rms to work with on a perfect electrical system...thats never the case though, either way it would work just fine for only two Type R 15's.

I wouldnt even look at the BRZ2400.1D for your setup just because at 2 ohms the Alpine MRP M2000 would produce more power than the brz2400.1d at the same ohm load.

  • @VolcomEntertainment Are you sure 2 alpine type r 15's can handle that much power there like 750 rms that amp would be giving it atleast 900 even with an average electrical system?? and sorry if this seems kind of nooby ive never see or used a type r 15 so im not sure what they can take

  • @doza146 the amp would only be dishing out 900 to each if you turned it way up and your voltage stayed above 14 at all times....maybe. If you have any common sense with gains and volume then youll be just fine.

  • @doza146 Hia u need an amp what is rated at a higher rms level than the sub so the gain on the amp can be set lower. Gain on a amp shouldnt be turned much if any past half way

  • if i have 2 15'' subwoofers how many watts does my amp need?

  • @screwedNch0pped get an amp with an RMS rating equal to that of the combined RMS capability of your two 15" subwoofers.

  • can you tell me the main advantage of a square speaker over a round speaker?

  • @andor29 description

  • i thought mono amps were just for 1 subwoofer?

  • @roachstalker mono amps have a single channel with which to give power. As for the subs you wire them together in whichever way is necessary to create a safe ohm load for the amp, as far as the amp is concerned though its just giving out power to the speaker cable that goes to the subwoofers where it is dispersed evenly.

  • wat about one 15 one 12 cuz thats what i have

  • i was thinking of getting 1 kicker 15 inch L5 with a 1600 watt amp as i seen you say in a comment down the bar that 2 12s are better then 1 15 inch so now im thinking of getting 2 12s idk what to do

  • have you done an xmax test on these aswell? i would really like to see where the cone starts to flex

  • yea 15s are dope but if you want cheap get some 12's

  • I wanted to put these in my car so bad but I can't get a box that is small enough .... I might end up just going with one idk though maybe 2 of the L7 12s would be better?

  • @pickleher 2 12 is always better than 1 15 for spl/loudness using the same amount of power.

  • @VolcomEntertainment yea true lol I just really wish I could get the 2 15's in

  • @pickleher

Two 12's are far better than a single 15. A single 15" subwoofer requires less power to achieve maximum volume out of itself, but a pair of 12's pretty much use about the same air space for the enclosure as a single 15. Also, a pair of 12's not only move more air, but are individually more responsive to more frequencies than a 15, so you can tune your system to a greater range of sounds that you like.

  • Sealed is better unless you are runnin 15s anything under that run sealed box you get more accurate bass if you want a low sound get a super bass box haha

  • i have cerwin vega vmax-122 and both my subs are at full from the amplifier but still they resonate differently

  • lol sumbody hit da clutch an change gears

  • @simpson803 ya, sonds like an old honda with a fart can

  • Fucking Beautiful =)

  • ur gay mann find some friendz..

  • tite

  • the one on my left looked kinda like it was a little faster idk it looked different at times

  • Not a big fan of Hifonics amps because they are so cheap but nice clean setup.

  • very nice im about to get a 1500 series dd 12" it should do what i want it to:)

  • #1 - Those Kickers are kickass.

#2 - I bet they did hit like no other.

#3 - (possibly irrelevant) A square box is the worst box to have for subs, custom boxes are the way to go.

#4 - Not hating on this video because I do give you kudos for it.

  • @Ryker624 a square box is the worst box for subs? can't a square box be custom as well? Looks like you have some stuff to learn.

  • no problem man i dont hate on anybodies shit cuz i aint the one paying for their stuff lol so i might not like something but u aint gonna catch me talking shit about it on youtube lol.

  • one hell of a vibrator should put yo girl on that and make magic happen!

  • To the VP, I gotta comment about the desc. It is true that a square cone will move more air than a round cone, but a square cone usually has a more limited Xmax/mech because of the stress on the corners, allowing round-cone drivers to be capable of more than x2 the Xmax/mech. Square cones will deliver MUCH more volume at lower levels, but round cones are louder overall when driven to their nominal capabilities.

  • hey im getting an l5 15 in my subaru and wanted to know if a kenwood 1000 watt mono class D will give it enough kick? i think it has 500 RMS

  • Get something with more power, that amp will do maybe 400rms realistically when it comes down to it and the S15L5 is rated for 750RMS

  • @BamBam56 depends on how loud you want your bass if you are keeping your factory audio don't push the sub to what its rated you'll lose any decent sound quality from your components but if your upgrading components as well then push it for what its rated and enjoy

  • @BamBam56 i ran 2 l5's with 2 of these and they pumped fine. got a 147.2 db reading and that was with a old head unit, was louder with the new stereo but never had it tested. cheap way to do it but if i was to re-do a sound system would use maybe hifonics 2k amp

  • sealed or ported box?

  • Description

  • I've got 2 pioneer premier TS-SW1201S4's. what amp would you suggest for them?

  • BOM!!!

  • Nice. I wish i had that

  • wut do u look up 4 this bass tester?

  • Description

  • i need some HELP. i have a 97 tahoe with an alpine type r 12 but i need 2 pairs of 6.5's. i need some that hit hard, pretty much like mini subwoofers... any help would be great!

  • since you already having some alpine going on just grab a set of Type R Components and give them their real rated RMS power.

A few layers of sound deadener in each door would help out.

  • polk, best components i ever had

  • thats some nice ass kickers man

  • Damn Man Good Shit What's The Wattage "Again "Cause I Cant Here You

    Press Pause Press Pause

    Lol..

  • it s' crazy

  • wow

  • I can't help but think they're out of phase. Must be the camera not doing it justice. Anyway, nice old system.

  • yeah man youutbe is full of broke haters. Stay up Player

  • Stupid and/or annoying people annoy me and youtube has them-a-plenty.

  • racing sounds lol??

  • @Raksoxl ricer sounds much

  • @Raksoxl ???? Uhm, bass test? You fuking retard.. I dont know how you can say racing sounds, and get thumbs up. xD Youtubers are fuked up anymore... or its just little kids goin crazy with the thumbs up button..

  • gotta love those grills

  • hey dude thats gonna destroy your rubber around the sub u have to let them breath in a ported box i promise that shits gonna sound fukin loud i got the same subs 08 4000watt acoustic amp, 3.5 farad cap ina ported box u can hear my shit 2 block away jus sayin ur not geting all of its performance and the grill is just to protect the subs, hers an idea make like 4 cup sized holes on the side of it see if u hear any differnce in the vibrations oh and u can upgrade to at least 3000watt to max out

  • 1) Use Commas, maybe a new paragraph if you're feeling generous.

    2) I assume your "acoustic" amp is power acoustik? If so then you're getting maybe 2,500 watts to them on good electrical (HO alt, 14.4v, 1/0 etc.)

    3) That entire system is long gone.

    4) Spell check; GED

    5) If I ever saw anyone drill holes into a sealed box I would laugh and take pictures.

6)Kicker wouldn't make grills for the L5/L7 knowing that respectful use could result in damaged subs.

    7) sigh...

  • "make 4 cup sized holes"

thats the stupidest shit i ever heard.

    i feel for you 'volcomentertainment'

    nice system bud

  • Very nice setup

  • song? music?

  • description

  • what's the mounting depth for these square subs?

  • 8 11/16"

  • how much did all that cost u

  • description

  • nice set up man

  • see i would be scared tht the excursion would hit the guard and puncture the woofer?

  • not unless you were smart enough to give each one a few thousand RMS

  • i hate those grills 2 the speakers//i broke both of them on accident one day tryna get them off and all the corners broke off so i just grinded the corners on both grills down and then i put new screw holes in them and screwed them back down and i fuckin poked a hole in my speaker when the excursion hit it

  • i might get the kicker cvr for a simple system i did have 2 12" sony xplod which blew not surprised but need any help with speakers.-rookie

  • Lookin at the vid makes me wonder if the box was individual or single chambers, cause the speakers were goin at a seesaw action at almost 50% of the time. But hey, gotta love kickers tho!!! I had 2 12 comp vr's and loved them, but couldnt keep them any longer cause of having kids so I donated them to my bro-in-law who now is still using them and loves them.

  • they were individual, any discrepancies in phase are due solely to the pos camera i used.

  • YESSSSS

  • you should take the grills off and spray rubberized sound dampener on the underside...that should get rid of most of the vibration noise!

  • good idea if i still had them

  • Nice XD they'l be good on a media center PC

  • hell yea nice kicker

  • lol i like the description

  • nice subs :D

  • These Subs You Bumpin are Made In Oklahoma (MIO) SO Was DD

  • hey did you change your alternator to ur car when you put those 2 15" L5's? coz i'm planning to upgrade my 2 12" L5 to 2 15" L5's.

  • no, at the time there was no option.

If you can for your vehicle then do get an HO alt. otherwise use 1/0 runs and do the big 3.

An extra batt in the back would be nice but if you cant then a nice reliable yellowtop or kinetic will help.
