  • Nice! I used to play this on viola back in the day. I wonder what it would sound like with electric bass and classic viola....?

  • ur webcam fall when u try to play

    still nice cover

  • @awness17 didn't use a webcam. used a digital camera. and there is nothing wrong with the video. hit the refresh button.

  • Ah ok =) MY next will be Jbass

  • @ThePowerOfMusic1995 they dont make this bass anymore. good luck. I suggest a StingRay or Fender American Deluxe P Bass pre 2007.

  • It'S a Ibanez ? (i think i've this , this is a active? =))

  • @ThePowerOfMusic1995 Nope. It is a JBPlayer Limited Edition Players Series. But yes, it is active.

  • finally one good bass cover of canon rock... all others I've seen are trying to go with the solo guitar... and this is bass!!! I like your cover man you are very good bass player :)

  • @Eddyson85 thank you!

  • is this bass active?

  • @eviisblb yes it is.

  • awesome mannn but theyre not the only chords you know, theres way more but very good XD

  • @Wulfz16 there are only four chords to PC Cannon. this version is the same.

  • Quite fresh! Simple and good and it keeps the bass line interesting. That's a thumbs up.

  • I like the random bass drum in the backround.

  • AWESOME! V

  • If you want to play this, you just just try to learn it by ear, else you won't get good.

Anyways, Nice playing man! Pretty much all the notes sounded really good together with the song, so yeah, 5/5.

  • I like.

  • u use pick don´t u?

  • that depends. for this song. no.

  • good job! keep playing!

  • nice! simple and clean

  • neat, how long u been playing?

    i started november 08..

    im gettin there :D

  • march 1992

  • hey very nice man!!!

  • awesome job man!

  • u & yr bass Rock!!!!1

  • hey, can you send me the tabs please? I would love to play this song on bass ^___^ thanks!!!

  • no.

There is no tab. the chords have been discussed in here as well as posted in the description. Please read.

  • ROCK ON.

  • that was pretty good.

  • freakin awesome man

  • This may have been asked before but what tuning are you playing this in? Great cover btw. Thanks

  • the bass is in standard tuning. never found a reason NOT to be in standard tuning. :)

  • don't play much Weezer huh?

but nice job on canon. i like it!

  • no. i like weezer. i know they're down-tuned to C i think these days.... still dont need to adjust bass, as it is in low B configuration.

  • your groove when everything kicks in is really boring, it's just the same repeated fills. Work on your tone too, your articulation is pretty bad.

and the progression is obviously just not 4 chords dude.

  • the progression IS 4 chords. ive played this on the chello as well, and they along with the basses have the boring part. the song is boring to play. the bass part that Jerry C put on the recording, that Matt Rach updated is the same 4 chords the whole song.

  • also there is nothing wrong with my "tone" or articulation. you cant hear articulation in the music.

  • the progression is actually JUST the four chords, man. The actual bass part is. If you wanted to see guitar, go watch a guitar one and leave the guy alone.

    Great job dude

  • its pachabells cannon, it is EXACTLY 4 chords the whole song.

  • one question? is this hard to play?? it's just a question no critic because i don't know very much of basses and a friend of me wants to start playing

  • no not very. only the 4 chords

  • Outwardly not so good, but sounds nice

  • why is it "outwordly" not so good?

  • Listen to mattrach play canon rock..beautiful i tell ye

  • this IS the Matt Rach version I'm playing over. it says so in the info section.

  • What's LD? as in chords

  • LOW D. as in 3rd fret on the B string

  • sweet!

  • I like how it sounds. Very cool keep roking.

  • xcool

  • FUCKIN AWESOME !!!!

Can't say any more.. Words missing now :O

  • sounds great man, i'd love to hear it played without a pick though.

    keep up the good work.

  • @bruuutal im not using a pic.

  • awesome!

  • Dude, loved it. You now join the ranks of all the people who have played cannon rock.

  • BASS RULES....keep on rocking, jszarecki!!!

  • sooper kewl Jay!

  • dude

    you dont rock

    YOU RULE WITH PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!!

    KEEP UP THE JSZARECKI DYNASTY!!!

  • K not a fan of the Plectrum sound on a bass. but the song was definitely nailed, good job bro!

  • i dont think anyone really calls it a plectrum anymore. its a pic. :)

  • omg you rock

  • not bad

  • Very good ,please can you send me the tab ,thnx

  • it sounds really good

  • Awesome, Are sure its your first try?

  • i like ur pentatonic fills lol

  • Very good.

  • Simply divine. Excellent work my friend!

  • I loved it! :)

  • Wow, your cover goes really in depth with the high fills too. Great work, best i've seen compared to all the others, nice tone too, i like how it actually sounds deep like a bass should, it had depth. Cheers

  • good one man!

    keep that way õ/

  • THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • Better than most covers out there. Keep it up!

  • Judging by the neck stock thats an ibanez sound gear? Sad to say this is better than most bass covers ive seen. Atleast you added some scales.

  • absolutely not.

i played exactly what was there. or at least a better version of it than.

  • Oh, gosh. I have been looking Canon in the bass guitar. Your sound is amazing.

  • awesome!!!!

  • hey whats "LD"

  • Low D. as in third fret, low-B string.

  • perfect

  • nice bassline

  • I think one of the best if not the best I've seen so far

  • camera shy? =)

its good whish i had a bass player near me =(

  • nice :>

  • thats pretty kickass i must say. :]

good job. keep up the good work

  • perfect

  • well i would still like hear how it sounds

  • well it woudl sound just like this. and i dont know any guitar players in my area that would even want to play music like this....

  • why don't you record the audio of the regular canon rock and than add yours bass music?

  • not sure what you mean. that IS the regular cannon rock done by Matt Rach....

  • what bass are you using?

  • i already said this, but its a custom JBPlayer LTD 5 string bass. emg select pickups, active electronics

  • oo, i didnt realize that.

    thanks for telling me tho

  • mix it with someone playing electric guitar and not just of you with backtrack

  • and what would be the point of that? it would sound the same as you see hear, but not as good as Matt Rach's playing...

  • very nice, just one thing, crank it up a bit

  • im goin home after work and making a video to this on my bass - ima slap the shit out of it. ill let u know when the vids up - good stuff btw

  • yes just use the same notes. 5 or four string just play the D up on the A string. no worries!

  • Very good.

I love to improvise on some chords,

when you named them in the video description i went instantly to get my bass - just to notice that you need 5 strings

but i think there are opportunities to play it nearly as good on a 4 string

  • next time mis it instead of just the backtrack, i think i would love it even more. 5/5

  • what?

  • i think he mean, less backtrack, more your playing

  • That was awesome cool, dude. What bass r u using??

  • a JBPlayer 5 strong custom

  • Woah, I'm surprised you could get such perfect sounds out of an obscure brand like that. Excellent!

  • thanks. didnt think it was obscure. just out of business. ive had it for close to 11 years.

  • guys its just pentatonic use chill u can learn it by ear.

  • Fantasic Man, I'm a bass player, but I don't have a five string. soooo... *Continues to pluck aimlessly*

  • You could play what this dude plays on a four string tuned to drop D fairly easily...

  • yes, you dont need a 5 string. i dont remember if i even used the B string on this one. and if i did, just play those notes up an octave.

  • sweet, I wish I could do that!

  • Great! Compliments by a bass player!! ;-) Greetings from Genova, Italy! :-)

  • very creative it's not easy to figure out by yourself uh<_< but why your bass seems to have five strings??

  • why dopes it have five strings? cause it doesnt haev four. i dont have a real answer to that.

  • what on earth LD? low D?

  • yes.. its certainly not Loud Dogs...

  • or is it o.O

  • that's insane! do you use your thumb or pluck the strings with your fingers?

  • my fingers.

  • I like using my thumb, it's louder

  • you sir, are an idiot!

  • :( why?

  • because, if you want to play louder use a pick, or turn up the amp. playing with just you thumb, especially on this song, is pure idiocy. its not called for.

  • i just think it's easier... >_>

  • holy crap this is awesome! a true bassist if i ever saw one!

  • you rull man! :) I like that ! :)

  • thank you!

  • dude thats pretty fuckin good :D

    x

  • I play bass and you did above average. Dont let those idiots tell you otherwise. Keep playing music

  • thats how its done

  • better add some licks, im seeing same chords all the way through

  • well no shit. its a bass part. and FYI...all i see for the guitar part are the same chords as well. its called song structure.

  • ur skilled and i mean no offence but the song should idealy be left to us guitarists

  • well of course. but im playing THE BASS PART. not the guitar part, and without bass bands are nothing.

  • Nice man, nice ^^

  • i like the sound of your bass.. and that bass line is it original or is it yours?? i like that one too..

  • well im not sure if im playing the ones thast recorded, so id say its mine....

  • Yamaha 5 string?

  • NO. JBPlayer Artist LTD Series 5 string

  • did you use a pick?

  • you know , i don't remember. i dont think so...but its possible.

  • is that a 5 string? if it is, i have one and they're awesome...

  • well, how many strings do you see????

  • You should join Mattrach on stage :)

  • tell him that! :)

  • Nicely mixed!!

  • mixed?

  • yeah! with your perfect bass play MIXED with the awesome guitar makes canon rock more ROCK!!

  • well its not really mixed, uim just playing along with Matt Rachs cannon.

  • you rock! ^_^ nice playing

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE

  • Pretty nice man. Just turn your bass up and go off in abit of a tangent every now and again. Yours is the best so far.

  • tangents are for guitar players

  • This is the best version I have heard on bass. Props for not slapping it it sounds better this way!

  • there is no reason in hell to slap it! the song doesnt call for it. anyoen who slaps it is an idiot. its not a funk song. :)

  • nice tone of bass ;)

  • very good dude!

  • Woow.. very fast! I play bass too but i'm not that good... Good job!

  • It's very nice... If you were to play it in a band, it would sound very good.

  • wow nevermind, now i see you're playing on a 5 string bass... too bad... could you at least write the notes down so i can make my own one ?

  • There is no TAB.

    it is just four chords played over and over and over and over and over again. i think they are: D - A - B - F# - G - LD - G - A

  • are u slapping that?

  • startign to get annoyed here. for the last time Does it sound like im slapping it?

    no

  • yours is boring and easy

...but someone had to play this =P

  • boring and easy? lets see you play it. its the part thats in the song.

  • How do you get the bass to sound like that man. I have tried all sorts of stuff on the Amp and Bass with the tone etc. Please help lol i have been after this sound for a year.

  • well. its in your strings, axe, amp and cab.

but mostly you coudl sit an van halen's stuff, and you wont sound like him. its really in your fingers and how you attack the notes, etc. try watchign some stray cats videos, or ring of fire for some upright techniques. use two fingers for a while until you can get a nice crisp attack. I just pluck the crap out of the strings. thast all. if im using a pick, same thing. cant describe it, it just happens.

  • what frets are they....and what cords? E,A,D,G?

  • haha sweet dude is that a cort c5z?

    check my bass tapping vid!

im trying to learn the red bull by fingersmoran next

  • a Cort? no i only use professional level gear. to me a Cort is like buying a Fender Squire, but worse.

its a JBPlayer LTD Custom i had built back in 1997

  • yoo this is pretty easy.. no joke. you did a good job but whoever out there thinks this is amazing, its really not its the same chords over and over and over again... use your ears! i figured this out in 5 min

  • agree...same thing i said earlier..

    without looking i think its D A C G

  • seriously

  • NICE! Best canon bass I've heard so far.

  • nvm i found them

  • you think i can play that by ear?

  • yes. its only the same four chords over and over again

  • where did u get ur tabs?

  • ok, i'll say it again. NO TABS! just listen and play along till you find the bass part

  • Nice job man, cuz im working on the Rythm part for this song...soon enough i'll post it. Nice Job.

  • =] This is awesome! I wanna play this on Bass ( I play the violin version). But I don't think I'll manage it...only been playing since the beginning of the year..

  • I like how you interprit scales in the verse very good:)

  • i do? now i've gotta go watch....didn't know there was gonna be a test! ;)
