the progression IS 4 chords. ive played this on the chello as well, and they along with the basses have the boring part. the song is boring to play. the bass part that Jerry C put on the recording, that Matt Rach updated is the same 4 chords the whole song.

well. its in your strings, axe, amp and cab.

but mostly you coudl sit an van halen's stuff, and you wont sound like him. its really in your fingers and how you attack the notes, etc. try watchign some stray cats videos, or ring of fire for some upright techniques. use two fingers for a while until you can get a nice crisp attack. I just pluck the crap out of the strings. thast all. if im using a pick, same thing. cant describe it, it just happens.
