  • u sound like a piece of shit

  • Silence is Troll Bane.

  • if gays like meshuggah, then crackheads bang their heads against the wall for more and dont ask why. orientation has nothing to do with this. get some culture.

    dirty fiona apple fan.

  • HOLLY TRUTH !

  • I think your anus would be main attraction of the San Francisco Gay Day Parade.

  • why are you soo phobic about being gay? it ok to admit that you are its ok, we wont judge you... because you are gay the band is far from it.

  • tomas haake plays with so much power \m/ \m/

amazing drummer...iam speechless when this guy is playing

  • shred.

  • a lovely twirl by fredrik throdendal at the start lol

  • Haha, there's an old vid of them playing Humiliative (which I've just noticed on the Related Videos list) and Marten does tonnes of twirling in that. Someone else sped it up and dubbed it to the Benny Hill theme tune, tis win it is.

  • Tomas is a robot haha

  • "sane me..."

    no you´re insane jens hehe:P

  • ROFL :D

  • this band kicks so much ass

  • The end ruuulles

  • Meshuggah fucking rule but I'm sick of people posting comments about time signatures etc...

If you can play any Meshuggah, fair enough but I'm fed up with retarded comments from people bitching about their timing.

I can play many of Haake's beats but I don't sit here and analyze them for you, I just enjoy the tunes....

  • I agree

  • What's worse is the "WOW, LASER MATHEMATIC HYPER UNIVERSE CALCULUS PSYCHICS METAL" type shit comments

Meshuggah are metal like a hundred others, the only difference is that they are really talented and creative, putting some actual though into their work!

  • Jens has an awesome voice!

    SANE ME!!!

  • Has Meshuggah ever played at Summer Slaughter?

  • Damn, why isn't that crowd goin' completely insane to this? Everyone's sedated! Get the fuck up!!!!

  • They are stoned by the sound of Meshuggah

  • Yep meshuggah will fuckin crush 'em

  • Most people don't even know how to fuckin nod their head to this shit. It's funny watching people at their shows

  • @jonesy97 Amen - lazy fucks :)

  • to quote Stephen Carpenter, Meshuggah are the quantum physics of metal

  • They are the cosmic calculus of metal

  • i fucking love this one, i dont play instruments but i bet it is a pan in the ass to cover this song

  • why do people analyze this music so much? only meshuggah can fully comprehend it. just enjoy it. that's what the band wanted.

  • This has got to be the most complicated metal I've ever heard

  • Love Sane, the part that starts at 2:57 made me bang my head so I broke my headphones xD

  • haha, of course i had to put that last comment on the sane video, of all songs to say that. pff

  • oh yeah true what am i saying, in the chorus and buildup it does actually go into 7/8 for a while...so not ALL in 4. but like you said, that's the rarest of occurences

  • when you think about it only the hi-hat and ride cymbal are ever in 4/4, so yeah they all have a 4/4 core but if you listen to anything around that its hard to see meshuggah as a straight 4/4 band. guitars are usually 5/16 or 17/16, snare and double bass are usually 23/16, they used some of the most fucked time signatures out there

  • i'm glad people care enough about meshuggah to count out the number of sixteenths in a particular pattern...but unfortunately your efforts are a bit misguided. let me explain--yes, the patterns are sometimes 7 sixteenth-notes LONG, or 15 sixteenth-notes LONG, but that does not constitute a time signature. that's just the syncopation over the beat.

  • any of those wacky patterns you hear are only heard correctly when you mentally accent the downbeats of 4/4 where they fall within them (or rather, where the 16th's fall within THEM) make any sense? any piece of music (disregarding phasing minimalist classical music such as cage or adams) can ONLY be in 1 time signature at a time. 4/4 is the beat. the "7/16" you're hearing is simply a syncopated pattern that causes tension by drawing the ear instinctively to an alternate pulse than the real one.

  • the best part is, once you internalize that, and start feeling the polyrhythm and the pulse naturally together, you start to realize that the weird rhythm only makes the 4/4 FATTER, makes it more solid feeling than a boring (but still cool and heavy) say, arch enemy track. it's like listening to good funk.

  • This guy is correct. It's pretty much all in 4/4. Just listen to the drums. If a composer were to put together an arrangement for this song for example, he would write out all the intruments in 4/4. It would just be really complex to read. You would see alot of "riffs" overlapping the starts and end of measures. But it is all within the framework of 4/4.

  • I was referring to poster "theharlequin".

  • Now listening to the whole song there are a few times they go outside of 4/4 but it's never these "8732987/16" time signatures people think. For example, at around 2:55 they are playing in 7/8. That's not that hard.Starting on the crash cymbal count: 1 2 , 1 2 , 1 2 3 . And start over. That's an example of a 7/8 time signature and it is common in metal. (Lamb of god for example use it on a few songs off their first release.

  • @birdosaurus

yeah but people are seeing not the drums in 4/4 (which by the way is only for the hands, sometimes haake will play in several times under the 4/4 beat with his feet) they are seeing them as constantly changing times which i think make it easier to think of that 4/4 because its so fucking complex!

also i dint know that with lamb of god, interesting

  • you can try and count. Or you can do it how i found out about it. Grab a guitar and get a drum machine, have the drum machine run a standard 4/4 timing. Play a chug pattern over top of it that over laps the snare. So the chug chug, or triplet thing (insert yer choice here) starts with bass pedal. ends on bass pedal and starts again with the snare, ending on the snare. But write it long enuff so it repeats on the start of a measure in the future. Does that make any sense at all?

  • yeah, it makes me laugh so hard when people will even memorize entire meshuggah songs, but bang their head to the polyrhythm, not the real beat. they don't realize that it's so heavy because it's ALL in straight 4/4. the polyrhythm only makes the beat more solid and heavy. sooo heavy. it's so natural feeling once you internalize the rhythm. meshuggah is the greatest and heaviest band in existence

  • this is one of the few meshuggah songs where it's not straight 4/4 all the way through

  • yep

  • wat

  • Most people can't. The trick is, follow the drummers right hand and it all fits into place! Polyrythmics are weird and great at the same time!

  • Well its outdoors and its daytime... how metal can you get? There's not even a pit that i can see

  • what the fuck is wrong w/ this pussy ass crowd?

  • Maybe theyre deaf, you have to be deaf to stand still to this awesome band.

  • True words...

  • The guy with the white towel at 1;57 looks like evil J. from OTEP ... im kinda scared

  • Im sorry for the lack of more intelligent words....but, fucking cool band.

  • With an Iron cock

  • Ha I love at 2:00 where Fredrik is like "check this shit out dude!" :D

  • Come and hear my twisted lies, the way I bend and falsify A master of deception, user of an untrue smile A rapist of the truth, adapting it to fit my causeI'm the human lie, a sad composition of all things vile Come and read my tainted lies. Lies. Come see my wretched, tainted mind I make my way, extend my ground, I clear my future-path When it comes to joys, manipulation is my game of choice How I shine. I ... The perfect freak. Confide in me Me... Believe in me ... Sane Me!
  • Tomas Haake es una máquina !!!!!!

  • I think "Chaosphere"is the heaviest most intense album ever. Is an album that you listen and take all your breath away.

  • GUYS pause it at 3:15 or 3:16 it is only for a moment but fredrik flips jens off haha

  • dude i think that was meant for the soundman, and i dont think he was flipping him off, he was raising his arm like "wtf", it's just the pick in his hands

  • no he flipped him off but not in a bad way just kinda like fuck this im a bad ass kinda shit haha

the reason i know is if you look in some videos and photos they are always giving the finger to the camera or someone ahha

  • I get to see them this sunday.. haha. Im FUCKIN stoked! I consider myself lucky that Im even going to be in their presence.

  • I wish the singer was a wookie too.

  • I bought the new CD,"obZen" last Monday, and I have to admit to all of you metalheads that it's the hardest metal music out in the industry right now!!! "obZen" will be the actual measuring stick to what other metal acts will have to bring to the table in regards of how innovative, precise, intense, as well as how loud they can be!!! listening to this new cd makes me wanna see how lamb of god, mastodon, and metallica are gonna come out with their new cd!!!

  • one of few musicians that can pull off this kind of music live like the album version, by the way i have haakes drumsticks ^^

  • FUCK OFFF U FUCKIN TWAT!!!!!! u obviously dont understand music and your obviously the biggest dumbarse there is, FUCK OFF!!!

  • maybe it's because this was recorded on a cam corder... if not a cell phone. i'm not big on the vocals either, but as a musician those rhythms are just utterly insane. this is like aphex twin, but with guitars... and a live drummer... lol. think about it. pretty much awesome.

  • Yeah totally. Like those sporadic fast tempo songs on "Drukqs" I'd say and a tad like the songs from "I care cause you do" the ones with the slow Egyptian ambient vibes to them.

  • you are pathetic, go to see a good charlotte vid..

Good charlotte is for you, is your music.

    Im pretty sure...

  • usually ozzfest tickets are overpriced. USUALLY that is...

  • Quit your bickering, this vid is awesome, music kicks ass, absolutely

  • Satanism? thats a religion numb nuts not a genre of music! anyways Meshuggah are gods how else can they come up with such complicated poly rhythms and general awesomeness.

OBZEN WILL MAKE MY HEAD EXPLODE! IT WILL LEGENDARY!

  • OMGGGG NO WAYYYZZ!!!1111111111

    That made no sense.

  • somehow not much i say does make sense, even if i mean it to

  • "obZen" is by far the loudest, innovative, intense, and fuckin' amazin' metal album this year of 2008!!!

  • Hail to CyrusGuitar for bringing some sense to these imbecile discussion. Let it be known that these unstoppable furious Norsemen have just released their latest Weapon of Mass Destruction. It's their first album in 3 years, called OBZEN so WHAT THE FUCK ARE WAITING FOR, YOU SORRY ASS MOTHERFUCKERS??! The carnage has just started!!

  • i listen for the MUSIC for guitar solos and sick polyrythms that is why meshuggah rules

  • if you dont like it wannabe ganster then dont listen! simple huh?

  • yer just a kid you wouldnt understand it,try something simpler and gay like, linkin park, seems all the teeny boppers like that shit, this is for true thrashers!

  • its more music then you will ever hear in a lifetime listening to the emo crap you like. Honestly how can people deem themselves fit to judge what is music when they are just ignorant MTV kiddies?

  • satanist????

  • SATANIST??????WTF????

  • What the fuck does this have to do with Satan?

    Your such an ignorant brat

  • lol you gotta learn about music before you put a label on it.. satanist hahahah.. its pethetic that you have to beat a style down to feel better yourself.. if you dont like it don't listen to it, but stop being such an ass
