  • I loved this game, really brutal if you make the wrong choices. (spoiler) i got the chip for my head and it made the last boss a run around the room for 2 hours lobbing grenades at him boss.

  • Thanks for the tips man! really saved my ass.

  • aaaaaaaaannnnnnddd I'm stuck. Game over I guess. How the hell am I supposed to kill this with a 9mm pistol? Developers really dropped the fucking ball here. At least Barrett had those explosive barrels around him.

  • @KingDiamondHead By the side of one of the power conductors there's a Heavy Assault Rifle and in one of the lockers there's ammo for it. Try to be precise. Good luck mate!

  • These boss fights are fucking retarded. Completely ruins a flawless game such as Deus Ex.....

  • I never thought I say this but for once the boss fights...are my least fave element in the game

Its jaring to play the whole time using stealth and all of the sudden I am stuck in a room with no option or freedom but to just shot

  • i'd also like to add... while she charging at you, you can still give her a few shots before jumping over her... if she's shooting at you, turn the cloak on and run ...

  • this is how i kill this boss pretty much with ease. Shotgun, Jump.

Stay in the middle of the ring

When she's charging at you, sprint and jump over her... do it 3 times. On the third time, turn ... give a few good shots with the shotgun.... just repeat the process...

  • Pick up the extra 100 heavy bullets (if you have found the extra 200 in the room just before that boss room) wait in the middle until she charges at you, then run at her and jump, spin round and spray her with 50bullets. Repeat 3 times, then when you have 100% health destroy the power thing and spray here again, which should kill her.

  • This boss was one of the most annoying things to kill in any of the games that i have played in my life. I was fucking annoyed when i kept dying, but in the cutscene i felt sorry for her...

  • Dammit i don't have stealth here

  • USE MINES!!!!!

SERIOUSLY!! I JUST BEAT THIS BY SPAMMING THE 5 or 6 MINES I HAD AVAILABLE (a few frag and a few emp)

if she hits an EMP mine she is fucked for a few seconds!!

  • The boss battles in this game are shockingly unbalanced for people who upgrade to great a stealth-orientated setup.

  • Argh! This Boss is sooo bloody annoying for heaven's sake! How can I win this!?

It's already been an hour and nothing, I keep dying :(

I wish it were as easy as the Barret fight...

  • these boss fights ruin the game :/

  • If you didn't put your points into combat abilities, like I did, you certainly have that electro-gun.

Then just wait in the center of the room until she appears.

When she charges at you just sprint and jump behind her.

You will take minimum damage and then shoot her with that electro-gun.

She will get stunned and you have a few seconds to shoot her with normal guns, that are lying around.

    Rinse and repeat.

It took me sometime to do it, but it's doable.

  • this game have the most shit bosses ever...1 hour and i'm still here at this boss...wtf???? 1-2 hit and it blow you like nothing...good job in ruin the game with this shit boss

  • killed the bitch on normal, shotgun + gas bombs, 4 minutes.

  • Is anyone aware that all you do is destroy the generators against the wall? She cant charge without them, then you just shoot her till she is dead.

  • I spent so much time on this Boss, dying endlessly. I didn't have the EMP protection BUT it's actually very easy. I was playing on normal and all I did was spam the Typhoon. If you don't have enough ammo or energy there's plenty lying around. Use Typhoon when she gets close and she doesn't do any damage and will even get stunned. Three times and a few shotgun shots did the trick! Hope this helps!

  • so i spend the entire game trying to avoid killing anyone, no matter how much i hated them, because i believe in holding them accountable for their actions, and now that a person is dying in front of me and i'm presented with the option to save them, all i can say is "Meh...I'll think about it"??? seriously??

  • so the only way to finish this bullshit bossfight is glitch trought it?

that homo who made these bossfights need real hard hit to balls. It spoils the game ,,l,.

  • this boss is super easy if you have typhoons, wait for her to charge you and start her typhoon then do yours. Takes about three... and she dies :D Namir is easy to deal with, just get the grenade launcher, 4 rounds shot quickly ;D

  • TIP: stay in the center, when she is in attackmode and she charges you just sprint head-on past her, you won't take damage

  • It took me like 2 hours but I killed the bitch this game is no joke.. Its fun playing a game thats made for the real gamers out there good luck everyone honestly just follow the bitch around and use smart vision if u have it

  • This boss made me sell the game.

  • I still dont get why Jenen and that journalist have a conversation while she Yelena lies there dying. "Are you going to save her? - I'll think about it". Quite disturbing!

  • @julesmaester adam was trolling lol.

  • @julesmaester What else did you think they really could do other than letting her die? Adam's answer was an ironic response to Eliza's teasing question because she is unable to understand emotions. Ironically, enough she reacted like she understood the answer. Also, their chit-chat was short and at that time Yelena was already dead due to her grave wounds.

P.S.: She is one cold-hearted bitch but her reaction when facing her own death was surprising (like spare me the last bullet mister) :/

  • Comment removed

  • @LaLimen0s I don't quite understand what you mean - what else could they do other than letting her die? That's exactly what they did, despite her injuries being fatal. The way that Jensen said "I'll think about it" didn't sound ironic at all to me - I honestly thought after their conversation they would at least do something, but she was completely forgotten about and left there. He could at least have put her out of her misery than leave her spitting out blood while Jensen & Eliza just chat.

  • @julesmaester Well we could debate forever and ever ( :) ) but I think putting her out of her misery was not an option for Jensen. It's not in his character the way the developers want to present him in the game. Of course, it's cruel to let her die but it wouldn't make a difference letting her live (or helping her to live ). Also, you should take into account that Yelena was such a cruel bitch that probably she got what she asked for. Letting her die along was the least and best he could do ;).

  • This boss was super-easy for me, all you need is the stun gun and 5-6 explosive mines.

1 - fight begin stun her asap

    2 - step back

3 - throw explosive mines (explosion also stun her) until she dies, piece of cake ;-)

  • turning the music off helps a lot keeping track of her location if you don't have smart vision.

You can anticipate where she is going to be and shoot the electricity hub when she approaches one.

I didn't have a very combative build but I managed killing her that way on normal.

Also note that there is a fully loaded heavy rifle in the area.

  • Comment removed

  • I just avoided her as much as possible and when she got close, used the stun gun and EMP grenades. For damaging I used a shot gun with a shit ton of weapon upgrades. She went down in about 15-20 shots, could've been less if I actually had the blast round mode turned on.

  • I put all my points to stealth and hacking as well.

I couldn't beat her at all.

  • @KiraStillLives Theres EMP grenades in the locker. Take the heavy rifle and the ammo.

Step 1) Throw EMP grenade down.

Step 2) Walk up close and hold the trigger down on her head.

Step 3) When she's about to recover run away fast.

Step 4) Wait for her next attack.

    Repeat.

Hope I helped i did this on "Give Me Deus Ex" With all stealth augments.

  • I beat her pretty easily, just run around the edges, and grab ammo, go into the middle area to wait for her to come, and jump high enough(depending on upgrades) to avoid being killed by the killer floor. Headshots are mainly the tactics to the third game bosses.

  • She's actually pretty easy. Just have Smart Vision so you can see her while she's cloaked and when she chases after you use your stun gun on her and just change to your strongest gun and shoot her as much as possible until she recovers. Rinse and repeat.

  • I really want to know which asshole thought things like this would be fun.

  • you have to shot the hubs on the outher circle of the room when shes neer them it'll make her stop and make her vulneralble... :)

  • People getting there asses kicked and they blame the game, no you just suck people born before the 90's know how hard games were back then. I like it it's like a tribute but this bitch is hard ill admit that.

But come on people it's a challenge if you finish her you feel good really good

  • @yajo891 There's a difference between poor balancing and a challenge. Completing a zero kills playthrough is a challenge, fighting this boss is just frustrating.

  • @Spitfirebird i agree it's frustrating but i killed her(on normal) with different augs then this dude.

Like i said you feel good if you win i was yelling HELL YEAH:P

  • Luckily on one my tries on this boss, she was stuck in a corner and couldn't move nor rotate. Like everybody else, I had a stealth-oriented Adam.

Not looking forward to these boss battles on the worst difficulty.

  • Pf, finally beat her. This boss is such a pain when you're all stealth-praxis. Got her on Give Me Deus Ex. Though it took me forever...

  • Just like Barrett she was annoying but I got the hang of it with no Armor et al. I just avoided her 1st attack went invisible, ran to the lockers grabbed emps(just in case) and energy, I dropped some items and grabbed the heavy rifle and equipped stun gun. When she charged at me, I used cloaking moved to the side of her stun 2-3 then heavy rifle point blank, when she looked like she was regrouping I cloaked moved to the side again then switched to stun gun and stunned her 2-3, she died.

  • The illuminati made 7 accounts to dislike this video..

  • Easy boss. STUN GUN - SHOTGUN - STUN GUN - SHOTGUN, CONTINUE. Easy as hell, even on hardest difficulty.

  • i had a heavy rifle, i hit her about 10000 times and the bitch still lived, fuck it all, i'm waiting for gears of war 3 and skyrim, goodbye outside world

  • i think you can enjoy this deus ex only when you think that it does'nt belong to the deus ex franchise (in terms of boss battles)

remember deus ex 1? where you were able to set traps for anna navarre or use a killphrase for gunther herman?there was not ONE enemy you had to actually fight... to me deus ex should have remained as an absolute stealth game...

  • @TheIntruder92

The bosses in Human Revolution are clearly a tribute to the original Deus Ex:

    - First is the big macho guy with heavy armor augmentations who blindly follows his superiors (Gunther Hermann/Barrett)

    - Second is the sadistic femme fatale who battles with one handed automatics and likes to abuse cloak (Anna Navarre/ Yelena)

    - Third is the cold, calculating male leader with government connections who knows a great deal about the main character's past (Walton Simmons/Namir)

  • @TheIntruder92

While you are right that you can avoid a traditional battle with the first two bosses in the original game, the vast majority of players most certainly never found their killphrases and battled them in lone combat just like the developers intended. What's important is that the personality and spirit of these bosses follows the Deus Ex tradition to the letter- not the presence of a plot device that would not have made any canonical sense in the Human Revolution timeline.

  • Don't know why everyone is complaining about this fight with stealth/hack builds. That was exactly the same choice I made and beat her 2nd try on hardest difficulty... The Namir fight (if you replace the chip) is 10x harder than this.

  • EMP mines+shotgun

Just set a trap with a mine and chill

If she gets a drop on you just use Typhoon

  • @MrHeywoodJablome i got the typhoon but i don't know how to use it

  • use typhoon twice it kills her really easily

  • Use Typhoon. If you don't have it, use emp shielding and stand near a generator. If you don't have it, use frag grenades. If you don't have it, use shotgun. If you don't have it, you're screwed.

  • How do you have such a huge inventory? Mine is smaller

  • Stop bitching and get the fucking Typhoon, it takes like 3 hits on the hardest difficulty with them to kill her

  • It's just stupid to implemend in multidimensional game "one-way-to-fight" boss... Even Barrett was quite easy because he was simply brute either to be mown down or to evaded. There should be for ex. hackable pad that electrocuts her when she stepps (controled by Eliza, thus limiting her movement) or even a turret. But no....

  • I got only stunning weapons. I wonder how I'm gonna beat that. :)

  • I've been trying to beat this bitch for 3hrs.... why did they have to totally fuck this game up by putting boss battles in here? Its not Final fantisy for fuck sakes >=-\.

  • THIS GAME JUST STARTED TO FUCKING SUCK.

  • to be honest a very good game such Deus Ex, loses much points from me just because of these retarded fucking mario-type boss!

  • Can Yelena actually be spared ? After defeating her Adam is told he can save her. Adam says he has a few questions to ask before deciding. After the cutscene Yelena is already dead

  • Video games with boss battles are the gayest thing ever invented. I'll go back to playing Crysis 2 - where there are NO fucking boss battles.

  • Contrary to your advice to stay away from recharging stations, I blew each one up in sequence. Chaining their destruction keeps her destealthed and energy starved. As long as you have points in dermal armour and the electricity immunity aug, you are neither drained nor damaged from the electrical discharges. She will still do her best to fill you up with machine-pistol bullets, though. I was mildly irritated by spending 4 praxis points just to beat her, a wise longterm investment perhaps?

  • I was skilled on stealth, too.I beat her with my Taser only and two gas granates on the highest difficult evel. Actually she is more predictable than the first boss. But I don't want to spoil it here. I just wanted to contradict the myth that this game is unbalance. It's just the lack of YOUR skills with the gamepad. :P :P

But I agree: SHE IS F****** ANNOYING!

  • Comment removed

  • Yep this was a true damn hard challenge if you go pure stealth,

but keep EMP her and just spray and prey and go stealth when she can see you and keep spraying, btw I did alot of saves during the fight so I didn't have to do it all over again if i failed.

  • Hey you whining biatches. That's why have a lots of weapons scattered all over the place. I played stealth and she was easy on hardest difficulty level. Then it's not the game that is imbalanced.

  • Why the fucking hell did they make this game impossible for stealthers? I don't have any lethal weapons! The best thing I can do is shoot her with a stun gun and run away!

  • @bladecat4 It's not impossible at all. I put a comment a few days ago about my method. I made sure to carry a lethal weapon with me through the game. But also through the boss battles there are weapons strewn about the place...

  • @bladecat4 there's a huge cache of heavy rifle ammo and a heavy rifle itself right before the boss room, I'd suggest grabbing it. Once the fight is over you have control of Jensen before you exit the level so it may be possible to go and get any equipment you had to drop, but I'm not sure if both doors open again after the fight as I simply looted her corpse and left. She's extremely irritating though as a stealther, because you don't live very long and the re-loading times are hefty.

  • I had my pistol upgraded to it's max at this point and almost had all my augs. (played on medium diffuculty) My pistol just shot like a machine gun and this fight was way too easy for some reason.(or i just got lucky i don't know) I found her much easier than the first boss fight.

  • The bosses are the weak element of this game. For everything else, is a masterpiece, but the boss fight are worth..

  • The bosses were the worst part of this game

  • Now I know that I just need to EMP her a few times to do some point blank spraying actions.

  • My comment became the top rated. Now people are replying and challenging me... I did not ask for this...

  • @Spitfirebird

I got the same problem. I went with the stealth augs and played on Deus Ex. I cant kill her because she almost kills me with one attack.

  • I put my points into stealth and hacking too, didn't stop me from blowing up the reactors and killing her. It wasn't that hard. Did you really expect to him her on your first try?

  • I've been putting all my skills in hacking and stealth and this boss got me too much trouble. Got her from 5'th try on Normal.

  • Ok for all you stealth people easy way is to use emp and frag mines even if she is stealthed they will still pop her and she takes ALOT of damage from them in fact this is the easy way for dealing with all the bosses

  • omg i hate this boss,i am restarting now for the 15th time or somewhat;)

but with watching this video iam confident i will beat her ass in a few or more minutes^^

  • Are you playing on easy mode cause ur 12?

  • You can blow them up if you can actually survive it...I couldn't. The floor becomes electrified because of the electricity going through the coolant

There is no right or wrong way necessarily

As for the stealth augs. I'm the same, but still managed to do it after a few tries

It takes a bit but definitely possible no matter how you've upgraded

  • wait, you don't need to blow up the power thingys?

    well that's one mystery solved

  • All the walkthroughs I seem to find require you to augment in a certain fashion. I have almost no combat related augments. I'm finding this battle to be... difficult.

  • This trying to perform a takedown will get you killed instantly is not true (could just be normal difficulty or lower) but it only inflicts about 50 damage anything lower than 50 life and you die

  • what i found a gd tactic was to grab the heavy rifle at the side, then w8 in the middle, look at your radar to c where she appears and turn to her, whn she runs towards u run towards and past her, she will run at u 3 times so keep turning and shoot her before she runs again, ther r also some emp mines around wich u can throw in the midle and whn she apears activate and run out of, this will stun her so you get a gd shot, ull prob run out of ammo so grb more wepons and use same tactic

  • I finally beated this asshole boss, i used "look through walls" sight to spot her easier, i didnt even know there was a goddamn heavy machine gun on the floor somewhere, it took me about 3 hours straight to beat this boss and a LOT of loading and saving. EASY MY ASS. This game forces you to pick up heavy weaponry or get certain augs ffs, like someone else also said. What the fuck man i never wanted to be rambo i want to be stealhy.

  • One thing I found worked fairly way was the stun gun. Stuns her long enough that you can quickly change to another weapon and lay into her. Just repeat the process

Not very efficient but definitely made it a little easier

  • @JackSladeDrums Totally saved my life with this tip. Thank you so much.

  • she fucking instakills me, i have barely any fucking weapons and she is 100% impossible to defeat, i dont have damage based augs i dont have anything that can make me beat her, she instakills me EVERY SINGLE TIME with the electrifying floor, the whole fucking floor is put in electricity and it instakills me WHAT THE HELL DO I DO.

  • i found the easiest way to kill her! sprint to the side when she charges then shoot w/ machine gun, tracking up grade helps to see where she's heading. then follow her, don't let her rest stop running. she runs to the other side of the room, then circles the outer border. keep up w/ her by watching the foot steps & running around the inner circle, she's never out of sight. shoot her b/w the barriers as you circle the room. i used 300 bullets, killed her in a min., no dmg & no energy use.

  • guys, although i see a mate has already posted that, best way by far (especially if you havent augmented cloaking device) is to typhoon her. if you have typhoon on lvl 2, youll even kill her instantly i think, or youll need to hit her with like 10 more heavy rifle rounds. also (even though i dont like to do that), you can save multiple times each time you get her with couple of rounds, so youll progress quicker. but as it has been said, best typhoon the bitch and you are good, believe me :)

  • I guess it's a shame that I put all my points into stealth and hacking. Great work at balancing the game, Eidos Montreal!

  • @Spitfirebird Yeah I hear you. Good thing this boss requires more combat based upgrades otherwise you'd be screwed if you did that.

    Oh wait.

  • @Spitfirebird Wow, I've seen that comment hundreds of times, and its all bullshit. I've done just fine, it took me a few tries despite having the exact same problem as you... its all about technique.

  • @killthrillabs Naturally it has been said a hundred or more times, as it is a serious flaw in an otherwise fantastic game.

  • @Spitfirebird Dude I've put all my points into stealth and hacking, and this boss fight was a challenge... something you don't get in many games today.

  • @Spitfirebird: Good thing you can win with a combination of cloaking and combat rifle, then. There's combat weapons in the room if you didn't include them in your build, and they're the only thing required to defeat her. But I see your point, having played through a stealth run myself.

  • square enix made the game not eidos so dont blame them

  • @TheRabbitFear Wrong. It was developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. Remember to think before you type.

  • @Spitfirebird It's not well balanced is it :/

  • @Spitfirebird aye, I had the same problem, not only that, I was playing on "give me a Deus Ex" so it took me a really long tome to kill her, but I saved often, and in the end I killed her...

    ...after dying 200 times

  • @Spitfirebird what a shame, that was a good praxis point, what a rotten way to waste it.

  • @Spitfirebird

lol how can u complain about that ? u get tons of ammo tons of frag mines etc. u don't need any combat augs to be able to kill bosses

  • @Spitfirebird Well once you get past that one it's fine :L You can just use a takedown on the third

  • @Spitfirebird it's that much of a problem, there are a bunc of emp mines that are quite effective on her

  • I ahte her, I cant beat her omg -__- Still best Game of the Year. Obvious

  • 'MANTIS' IS LIKE THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF AN UBER HOMOSEXUAL AND UBER TRANSGENDERED PERSON COMBINED (LOOK HOW HE(?)/SHE(?) WALKS!!!)

  • Lol at your atleast near max damage reduction.... She's like impossible with out it XD

  • Easy way to beat her is to hit her nonstop with Typhoon Explosives, beat her on second try within 50 seconds

  • THIS BOSS IS SO ANNOYING TO ME
