I love the Tribal Fest and belly dance! Zoe is a very good character! She reminds me of a funny Carol Burnett added a bit to her act! She is fun to watch as they all are amusing and great performers! Fun, love, dance! That is what it is about! No negative comments/ opinions allowed here! These ladies are very adorable and likable! Love it! Makes me laugh and smile and feel beautiful as it should everyone with a good sense of humor added to it to spice it up! :D!!!

This isn't belly dance, it's burlesque/cootch (ala world's fair style). It's inventive and fun, but this is not belly dance sorry. Many people who do not know better and see this think it's the "dance to entice men thing" akin to stripping, and many of us are trying to promote the true history of it and get away from the myth/hype of "sultan's favorite" stories. =D Sorry not trying to be rude just trying to be appreciative yet a lil factual.

@klausen725 Rachel Brice isn't in this one. Although she was one of the innovators when it first came to REALLY stretching (if not 'breaking') the boundaries of fusion, she's for the most part kept her style very technical. I think that's one of the most admirable things; while many performers water down the technique or replace it with costumes and fluff, Rachel Brice has stayed true to her discipline. Even Zoe hasn't completely abandoned it, as you can see in this video, her moves stay sharp.

@dezoksiribo7 we realized that it is not tribal.. Tribal Fest is about expressing yourself in various forms of belly dance/or fusing it with other types. Yes, it started out as being tribal bellydance, but in case you havnt noticed, many have moved away from traditional tribal. as for what Rachel Brice would think ..she has done alot of diff choreography w/other styles infused. not just traditional tribal. Zoe Jakes is free to express herself in any form, and im sure Rachel would agree.

To burlesque is to exaggerate or parody and this is a fantastic example. It's sass without the crass and the tribal fusion style is integrated well. The intention of the dance is also very clear as a 'burlesque' of 1920's burlesque with a contemporary edge. It definitely cannot be mistaken as bellydance. Well done ladies. It was great fun. Love it!

OH, MY!! you're all so wrong...do you really know what tribal dance is? this is really tribal, fussion with burlesque...it's not "bellydance". tribal dance had common things with bellydance, but it includes a lot of dances from around the world, like hip hop, break dance, afro music, and others... why not burlesque? i think this coreography is great, they need a little more of group coordination, but still is great!!! you should read more about tribal so you can understand what you're watching
