  • Im sorry but y have they got a load of green lantern stuff on the show no 1 watches it

  • ...Let those who worship evil's might,

Beware my power... Green Lantern's light!

Sheldon should say it whole ;)

  • That Quote makes me shivers

  • WHAT DARKEST NIGHT? WTF ITS BLACKEST KNIGHT

  • @OmegaBeatLynx DARKEST NIGHT is BATMAN :D

  • 0:00 HELLO MEAGAN!!

  • @WindOfSolitude nice young justice reference

  • is possible to buy that lantern somewhere?

  • @seiya209 There is a DC Direct Lantern that lights completely (along with the ring) and comes with a stand.

  • @Orthus14 where can i get more info about that lantern and how much cost

  • @seiya209 You could try Amazon.

  • WINNIE!

  • I'm black but I don't see this racist its funny. I love sheldon he is halarious. So stfu wit this ra ist shit, allways wanna start something on youtube

  • whats wrong with the word black or derivates??? people over the US are... Idk

  • Say whatever you want, but "darkest night" sounds as good as "blackest night"

You're just making troubles for nothing.

  • I'm a little disappointed Sheldon didn't use the original oath.

  • WINNIE COOPER!!

Sheldon Cooper and Winnie Cooper in the same room, who'd have thought it?

  • Blackest night..... wtf man thats like saying "The Black Lantern Corp is racist"... there a bunch of zombies wtf is this shit

  • I'm tired with all these people that are so fucking sensitive about racism and gay rights. Oh, I'm sorry, homosexual rights. Fucking idiots.

  • Black is just a colour...lol come on. I think 'blackest' just sounds that much more stronger than 'darkest'. With blackest, you can associate the shade of black, the shade of absolute darkness. With darkest (at least imo) it's more of, it's hardly visible but you can still see.

  • @Shin27ecstasy

darkest is always the better word in the context my friend...though i would agree they should have left it as black just like the old times.

  • @lolovenge

I think the real reason I think blackest sounds better is that it flows better as a sort of alliteration...'brightest' 'blackest' they're not side by side but that's what I get out of it.

  • Why the hell isn'it it Darkest anyway? Opposite of Bright is Dark and opposite of Black is White, I can see why it seems racist.

  • In the movie trailer for Green Lantern, he said Blackest night, so I think the uploader made an epic fail in the description.

  • Now if it was in whitest day, in niggerest night you might have a point. Bazinga!

  • I read the description and all. I just wanted to say, in the oath black is not used to refer to people. Black is a fucking color, do you want to remove it from the chromatic scale to avoid racism? WTF? That is incredibly racist and in the worst way.

  • Bazinga.

  • I'm sure it was done because of copyright reasons. It's also a power battery, not a "green lantern lantern." ;]

  • Question: How many White Lanterns were black/African-American.

    Answer: None.

I don't think that this is an example of overt or blatant racism, but it's certainly questionable and problematic. It's most likely a symptom of the under-representation of African-American superheros in comic books compared to whites. This, the silent racism, is rather pernicious.

  • If I was Raj, I'd pick Winnie!!! ;)

  • if i thought that the girl are more interesting than the oath, does that make me a low level nerd ?

  • Riddle me this: why did no one think to put Jim Parsons in the upcoming Green Lantern movie?

  • he forgot "let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!"

  • green lantern lantern

  • Off the top of my head. Probably screwed something up grammatically.

The Blackest Night falls from the skies, the darkness grows as all light dies,

We crave your hearts and your demise

By my black hand, THE DEAD SHALL RISE!!

  • psh girl it's called a "power battery"

    =P

Honestly though these things don't really look worth it to shell out $300. Personally I would find it more satisfying to create my own, that's my opinion and there are many like it but this one is mine. xD

  • Darkest is better.

  • its in blackest night not darkest night

  • hahahahahahha

  • THIS GUY SAID IT WRONG.

  • oooh my girlfrend Danika Mckellar, I love this woman in the Wonder Years o Aquellos Años Maravillosos, she is a Pretty woman, Te Adoro.

Jajaja, yo ya escogí con quien copular.

  • The ''darkest'' comes from elseworlds story In Darkest Night, where Bruce Wayne become Green Lantern instead of Hal Jordan.

  • WRONG

  • That is the Coolest Prop EVER!!!

  • Winnie Cooper forever.

  • HOLY SHIT THAT IS AWESOME!

  • in the late 70's the john stewart lantern books he said darkest not blackest...thats where they're getting that from

  • Uhhh...the word "blackest" is never, ever replaced with "darkest". They just based a whole Goddamn event around the term. That just brought the potential awesomeness of this scene down, way down. Fucking political correctness...In Brightest Day, In blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight, let those who worship evil's might, beware my power...GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!

  • @WildWest1122 As much as I hate to admit it, Hal Jordan himself changes the word to "darkest" in his later years. I think its Green Lantern Vol.3 #43. He tells Kalmaku that he is becoming politically correct. Even though DC writers screwed that one up, most of us will stick to "blackest night."

  • @knowa83 I guess it didn't last long, huh? That's only a few issues before Hal went nuts. Was it written by Marz, too?

All kidding aside, there's something more aesthetically pleasing about the way "blackest night" rolls off the tongue instead of "darkest night". At least they stuck to the original for the movie.

  • @WildWest1122 I'm also glad they stuck to the original oath. And no it wasn't Marz. I think it was Gerard Jones and Steve Mattsson that wrote that one. Regardless, that whole political correctness BS is annoying wherever you see it, let alone a freaking comic book filled with fictional characters.

  • @knowa83 Agreed 100%.

  • Seriously how does pointing things out count as being funny?

"Oh look i'm gonna say the GL oath" *laugh track*

  • Darkest? DARKEST? FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU.

Ooh, but that is a pretty cool Lantern+Ring thing. Kinda want.

  • Who could confuse Blackest Night as being racist???? I'm African/African American (my father is African, my mother is African American) and I have been a fan of Hal Jordan since I was eight years old. I never thought of the oath as being racist. That is just....ridiculous. Nobody needs to be THAT politically correct.

  • @TheNativeDialect

Unfortunately in our modern time "political correctnes" is just going awful wrong. Heck, I heard Speedy Gonzales was once banned form TV, because WB thought it was offensive to mexicans. But the irony, the mexicans were more offended about him being cancelled, because they liked Speedy

  • @TheNativeDialect There's no reason to be politically correct period.

  • the oath was changed to darkest to be more politically correct then john stewart came an used the original oath and it was ok again. dumb isnt it

  • winnie cooper went and got hot

  • take a look at the info:

The word "blackest" was often replaced with "darkest" to avoid racist connotations.

  • @staticmattisokay

It's only racist if you want it to be

  • @Spuddfluff

yeah I agree - some people do have this connotation

  • @staticmattisokay for all your racist people stop watching this video now! and if you are racist your a dick i figure no ones truly racist but there all dicks. in other words if your a good person than your a good person and if your a dick than your a dick. PLAIN A SIMPLE

  • @staticmattisokay i dont get it, john stewart was an african american guy, what racist connotations ? are they blind or something ?

  • @staticmattisokay

    are you serious????

who the hell would implicit racist intentions into that oath?!?!?!?!

how stupid must someone be to do that.....

  • @dshkoq are you deaf?

read the description I put in

"This is not my opinion. It's just an interesting fact and has to do with Sociolinguistic."

  • @staticmattisokay "are you deaf?" you cant HEAR written words

  • Comment removed

  • @dshkoq Who knows, blacks get in a tizzy about everything these days, and they're constantly looking for something to sue us whites over.

  • @whitebishop1 Oh goodness this is so true and I'm black. By the way, I never even thought of the oath being racist..That is quite interesting how people always seem to look for reasons to get upset.

  • @staticmattisokay if you even think about to change it

    it's racist.

I think the should use the original form.

  • @staticmattisokay lol, that's so silly.
