  • I'm cleaning off my Batman Beyond return of the joker cartridge using a few q-tips and i guess i'll use window cleaner on it as a result.

  • i'm not trying to wind you up or anything but you sound just like ashenclone

  • I did this to my old game cartridges that have not worked for years and years and I thought I'd never play them again. This worked wonders and now the games work flawlessly! And you'll be surprised at all the dirt that came out of the cartridges... yuck. When you think about it it makes sense as some of those cartridges are nearly 20 years old and have probably never been cleaned in their lifetime. Thanks for this video, it helped me so well!

  • Thanks! Worked perfectly for my SNES cartridges.

  • good video for cleaning :) though personally I open the cartridge to do it, much less awkwardness when you can just get right to the pins

  • Thanks for the tutorial I had problem with Cartridges not loading on my Megadrive. I used your method (as a coincidence I had some Mr Muscle Window Cleaner!) and then inserted my carts into my console and they all worked first time. Thanks for this fantastic tutorial. Who would have thought window cleaner would be multi-purpose.

  • @DLiberator78 I'm glad you found it useful! :)

Yeah Glass Cleaner, it's a Godly substance! haha... Cheers :)

  • Didn't work for me.

  • @scorpionatthepc Hmm... 2600 games must be differentt... I haven't tried it.

  • Ok. Will try it on my old 'river raid 2' for atari 2600 which won't load and let you know how I get on.

  • @scorpionatthepc I've never tried this on a 2600 game, but good luck!

  • Wouldn't blowing on the cart connectors be quicker/easier?

  • @scorpionatthepc The first few times, yes it would. However, it's a temporary fix. If you blow on it, 3 days later you'll have to blow on it again. Also, the more you blow on it, it could be more and more damaging for the game. The water vapour from your breath can solidify on the contacts and start to corrode the pins. If you do this fix, then you won't be blowing into your carts for years and years to come :)

    Hope this helps... :)

  • those of you who it didnt work for. it worked for me. but u can take it apart and some ppl will clean it for you. if it still isnt working, the game might already be permanently damaged.

  • Man just tried this on my Secret of Mana cart, had loaded everytime consecutively, thanks alot for this.

  • @MartyPotatoes Glad it helped man! :)

    Tom

  • I clean all my Nintendo 64 cartridges this way and it works perfectly.

    Tom

  • It didnt work wih my mega drive game

  • i tried it and it did not work

  • does this work with game boy games

    reply please

  • GameBoy games are pretty different as far as contacts go, but you can apply some of the methods in this video ^^ and see if it works!

Let us know with a video response!

    Tom

  • 5/5* xD

  • Cheers!! :)

    Tom

  • just blow into it man blow it now

  • no thanks man...

If you blow into it, it's only a very temporary fix. Plus, it can damage the game cart in the long run. If you do this to your games ^, you will not be blowing into them for a good 6 months afterwards, and then you just clean them again!

    Tom

  • blowing never worked, its just that you took the Cartridge out and reconnected it after. Funny that People still do this, instead of replacing the 72-Pin Connector in the NES, or at least, cleaning the Connector of their NES/SNES/N64/MD/SMS Systems. BTW. Cleaning the Cartridges is important too, but even more to clean the connectors.

  • obviously it does as many sega fans associate blowing into them as part of their sega experience indeed blowing is what many will say when you menttion megadrive to mid 20`s something people now days that grew up in that era 90`s dont downplay it

  • Most people associated this with NES too.I don't say that people didn't do that, I just say that it didn't helped, what helped was that you just turned off your MD or NES, took out the Cartridge and than put it inside again. The Problem was that the Cartridge didn't connect properly to the Pin-Connector. Try it yourself, instead of blowing, just reconnect the Cartridge, it has the same effect.

  • how do you clean inside of the megadrive if the carthage is cleaned and still there is no picture? tried blowing inside as well but its hard to get at it and cotton buds are too fat to dip them in alcohol and clean the pins inside

  • Thats true that Cotton buds are are to fat, what I do, is to use, sandpaper and to scratch it gently (don't worry, you will not harm your console) and than spray a bit isopropanol (Alc) inside the pin-connector. This works for me since years and I repeat it all 6 to 10 Month on each of my classic Consoles (NES/SNES/N64/MD).

  • good video, i use this process/ method alot with my mega drive games

  • Thanks!:)
