The whole album 'Seventh Tree' has a very dark back-story, it's also ridiculously under-rated, i would definatley recommend buying it. (Along with all Goldfrapp albums of course.)

It's very frustrating, this was voted the 8th best song of the year by music critics, but barely charted anywhere outside UK.

MUSIC is mathematical repetition. So get over yourself. The most complicated music of all time is based on repetition, I grant that some music is more repetitive, but not all music's artistic merit is based only in their ability to stretch the bounds of ability to provide variety of chords. Beauty often comes only with symmetry and balance. And since Goldfrapp are quite obviously a visual artist as well as musical, perhaps an audio purist ought best stick to artists that perished before video.

A great video. Its not just Europe. Everywhere has great if they allow people to express themselves. The proximity to a time when they were controlled, often indicates how free they feel, but sometimes, it is the inverse.... there's really no math that can be applied to it. Hunt out what's great... the finding of it; that makes it even more great than being able to say "The BEST stuff only comes from _____".
