Mr Heston was a major actor and star in several excellent films. He was a major human being who gave of himself and his finances to his fellow man. He acted on his beliefs and was in no sense of the word a coward. This film alone shows his courage, dignity, strength and sense of honor and loyalty to his family and others.

I watched his first starring movie, Dark City, yesterday. He was quite good at acting from the beginning. His ywo biggest films, Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments should be around for many centuries to come.

I saw him at a screening of Ben Hur..freaking forgot to bring my movies for him to sign..he was very frail could barely stand until someone asked him about Planet of the Apes and he did the line..take your dirty paws off me you damn dirty ape..and when he did he looked like he was possessed with energy & power cuz he stood up and did it full force and me and all the other men in the audience screamed like little girls in sheer glee...man you will be missed..an icon for sure.

He was a terrific actor who in the day was also at the front of the civil rights movement. I hate guns and I hate that as a person he felt the need to take the position that he took, but that doesn't take away from his acting career.

It's almost painful to watch this. One of the all-time acting greats, bigger than life. Even people who differed with him politically - such as Whoopi Goldberg - admired him as both an actor and a person. It's still hard to believe that he's gone - RIP Mr. Heston.

A true American legend. He was bigger than life and an all around nice guy. Movies like Khartoum, Major Dundee and Secret of the Incas were ground breaking adventure hits. It seemed like every great movie in the 60s and early 70s had Heston in them. The world is a sadder place without him!
THANK YOU for posting this! I was always a big fan of the late great Mr Heston. Though I disagreed with many of his political stances, that has nothing to do with my admiration of his talent, fortitude & courage. I wrote him a fan letter back in the early 70's & received an autographed photo. I'm glad I was able to tell him that I think "Will Penny" contains my fave performance of his; apparently it was his too. Always a joy to hear about a happy marriage & devoted family man. THANKS! :)

He simply fought for the right of people who wanted to own them, to be able to own them. That's it. Also, the NRA is a leading figure in gun safety education and anti-violence education (note that violence is the problem, not guns). They also support programs that teach women how to defend themselves against rapists and home invasions.

Understand that at this point, Moore was deliberately attempting to smear him on camera and it was no longer an interview. He was making an appeal to emotion in the audience. A true American legend. He was bigger than life and an all around nice guy. Movies like Khartoum, Major Dundee and Secret of the Incas were ground breaking adventure hits. It seemed like every great movie in the 60s and early 70s had Heston in them. The world is a sadder place without him!

THANK YOU for posting this! I was always a big fan of the late great Mr Heston. Though I disagreed with many of his political stances, that has nothing to do with my admiration of his talent, fortitude & courage. I wrote him a fan letter back in the early 70's & received an autographed photo. I'm glad I was able to tell him that I think "Will Penny" contains my fave performance of his; apparently it was his too. Always a joy to hear about a happy marriage & devoted family man. THANKS! :)
