  • travelled europe for 5 years. never found a line. tourist traps, not winning.

  • noter dame looks so more biger than the actuly one in South Ben

  • I went to Paris in 2009 with my high school. One of the biggest tips I can give travelers is to be careful when you film and what you film. Sometimes there will be "entertainers" on the metro, and if you film they may expect payment after and may hassle you for it. I witnessed that twice. Also, there are sometimes gypsies outside of Notre Dame. They will try throwing their "baby" at you, but it's only a bundle. Don't catch it. That's a trap.

  • I think I might start vlogging trips as well. I travel alot and Im planning a trip to Europe in Nov . 6 countries 12 cities 15 days. I start planning trips months in advance. What I notice is that you don't really plan. I get that you want to see the cities the way your viewers would but planning is the best thing to do before taking a trip. And Rick Steves is kinda eh. I read Fodor's, watch Samantha Brown, and ask people who have gone. Enjoyed your tour none the less. Have you visited Greece?

  • kCal is the same as the regular Cal, it is just written differently!

  • Hunchback <3

  • btw the movie is the hunchback of notre dame...its one of the best disney movies ever.

  • btw the movie is the hunchback of notre dame...its one of the best disney movies ever.

  • The song at the end is from the Humpback of Notre Dame, of course! I love that movie!

  • I always hate taking the RER B from the airport it's like the WORST first view ever for the tourists!

  • Hunchback of Notre Dame!!!!

  • 1 Calorie (US) = 1 kcal (EU). Europe sticks the k in there to distinguish it from the scientific calorie (cal) which is 1000 times smaller. Perhaps if the US did the same, its citizens wouldn't be quite so confused when they collide with the rest of the human race.

  • @G0lfYankee I fully agree with you, but I need to clarify one small detail so people don't misunderstand you. We don't put the k in kcal to "distinguish it from the scientific calorie", kcal is the scientific calorie still, it is just a thousand of them. Instead of adding three zeros and the end of the amount, we add a k at the front. Like with kilograms, or kilometers, or kilojoules. Same principle. Thanks mate :)

  • @necox5 People aren't idiots. They know that k means thousand. That's the problem. That's what's confusing them. They don't understand that they're using kcals already and g-cals are 1000x SMALLER. Europe just went through a phase of adding metric prefixes to everything in the 1920's to bring it in line with SI. Also, I should have called g-cals "scientific calories" because they're not really scientific, it's obsolete. It USED to be scientific a century ago. Nobody uses gram-calories any more.

  • @G0lfYankee Indeed :)

  • @G0lfYankee lmao!

  • @G0lfYankee fuck that

  • @G0lfYankee oh and fuck you

  • The movie is the hunchback of Notra Dame!

  • i see the Russian Vodka bottle in the kitchen :P

  • A "real cal" is a Kcal... there are 1000 calories in a "Kcal"... we just call them calories for short form.

  • Those stairs are awesome.

  • Cal = 1 kcal = 1000 cal

What we think of calories is Calories.

  • Hunchback of Notre Dame!!! One of the most epic Disney movies by the way, and seriously not a kids movie! ^_^ Luved this video, very cute and i loved the little mishaps that's what made the video so much fun!!

  • What kind of camera do you have?

  • And the church can see you. MYESSSS

    MWUHAHAHA

  • I can barely hear you!!!!

  • kcal is the same as a "real calorie."

  • kcal is a thousand "small" calories. "small" calories being the energy needed to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 °C.

It takes 1000 "small" calories to actually meet what is considered a calorie on the average US nutritional label, which is more accurately called a "large" calorie, or a dietary calorie, or a kilogram calorie.

To sum this up. kcal (UK) = calorie (US).

  • kilometers, a thousand meters.

k always means a thousand, so i'm guessing a kcal is a thousand calories.

    holy cow.

  • Aviators FTW.

  • You didn't do lines. Im depressed.

  • Flammekueche is not really pizza, it's mainly just bread, cheese and onion. And there is 1000 calories in a kcal. Have fun in France ;)

  • that apartment is amazing

  • I feel your travel line pain in peak season. When I was in Angers, France (Pays de la Loire, where Cointreau is made) last summer for study I avoided Paris like the plague because I knew how hectic it would be; especially August . Not only do you have other countries you have France's population as well (August is their national holiday month - everyone takes vacation then). But I have an excuse to go back and thank YOU for the tips on when to go to Notre Dame! :)

  • I totally thought linz was doing something illegal when I saw the title.

  • Beautiful apartment!

  • I like to travel to Europe in the winter as well. I went to England and France in November, and despite the rain, it was excellent! There were no lines! The worst part was the terrorist threats that were RAGING at that time. It was crazy but totally worth it! Your videos bring back great memories.

  • I went to paris with my school 2 years ago and it was so beautiful, but we only had a day and a half there before we went to another town so all of the side seeing we did we had to do be almost running to see everything. Then when we got on the train to the other town everyone just fell to sleep because we were so tired from all of the walking, but it was so worth it ;D

Oh, and that song is from the movie the Hunchbak of Notre Dame which I love <3 ;D

  • I NEED those stairs!

  • When I went to Paris and visited Notre Dame I totally made a donation but instead of light the candle I took it as a souviner! I still have it on a shelf in my bedroom. :)

  • Anyone know the name of the tune at the beginning?

  • @RAWRkarina19 Where did Shay mention the video?

  • This has probably been answered several times already, but:

    1 Cal = 1 kcal.

    1 kcal = 1 cal

    1 Cal = 1000 cal

The Capital at the beginning matters.

  • @samwise210 you screwed up :)

  • ahhh I can't believe you went to Paris! I'm so jealous!!! (:

  • I don't even want to know how much your friend pays for that apartment. Paris is expensive...

  • @NapalmSV I can only imagine

  • That loft apartment is gorgeous. :)

  • Ahh Linz I was just there on the 23rd! The line to get into the church was nothing. The line to go up to the top was 2 hours :s. But so worth it

  • Name of song at beginning?

  • kcals are real calories.

  • That loft stairs/floor would make me hyperventilate OMG

  • Hunchback of Notre Dame

  • Lindsey I LOVE these videos!!! Your inspiring me to travel to Europe and possibly stay at a hostel. I always felt like they were dangerous but you really shut down that stereotype.

  • I've been there! :D :)

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame!!!

  • visited from Shay. :-)

  • lines of what? cocaine?

  • not shay , more like phil

  • hunchback of notre dame i love that movie

  • that is a gorgeous apartment

  • Doing lines at Notre Dame, nice title IDIOT!!!

  • 1 Calorie=1kcal=1000 calories

  • i love thoes stairs

  • Yes it does sound stupid and american. ;)

  • linz do not worry, this wasn't "boring" at all, none of your videos are, you put everything together and organize it very well and use music that is perfect for the video. Worry less and do whatever makes YOU happy, your doing a great job hope you feel better soon!

  • @YOUmommaMUSIX kiss ass lol im all jokes itz k

  • doing lines wheres the cocaine?

  • @TheStickGuyManDude You're a dumbass. A calorie is actually a kilocalorie, but we in the states call it a calorie. Fucking retard

  • Have you seen taken??

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame, great Disney movie.

  • notredam

  • Link from Shaytards, watched 5 minutes, subscribed! x

  • @TheStickGuyManDude to sum up.. 1 US cal = 1 kcal = 1000 cal

  • @navyjackskydew2 Oh wow thanks for making that understandable. Oh wait it already was, what is your point exactly?

  • i love that house!

  • Hey, the guy was totally obeying the "P ---->" sign at 9:40

  • Linz what kind of camera do you use? Is that your phone?

  • I thought she meant lines of cocain

  • is that philly-D's slam piece?

  • Thumbs up if Shay brought u here

  • @TheStickGuyManDude In the US and Canada we just call kcal "Calories", which is incorrect but we are lazy. ie Large Fries are 500Kcal

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame!!!! The disney version!! love it : D

  • *in french accent* - "Stupid, arrogant American! Why don't you go back to your trailer park and cheeseburgers!" (said by Paris resident, not me personally)LOL

  • Sounds like Italian music, even though we're in France...

  • when you are in the bathroom you can see a church... Yeah!!!! Awesome!!

  • what is the song u used in the background when u were eating snails? because i think ive heard of it but i dont remember >.<

  • @steven69lee

You're a no-lifer with an embarrassingly small endowment.

Please note, I properly spelled "you're".

  • Damn it! Now I want to go to Paris

  • The hunchback of Notre Dame!

  • kcal means Kilo Calories

    Kilo= 1000

    So 1 kcal = 1000 cal ,1 kg= 1000 gram, 1 km = 1000 meters

hope this will help you with your journey.

  • Okay. Just kidding ><

  • You should visit the "Love Lock" bridge along the Seine! :)

  • I only came here because I thought it was a white girl doing coke lines... and shay liked the video. Where's the cocaine?

  • the hunch back of Notre Dame

  • you are so funny, sweet and beautiful! philip is a very lucky man.

  • I got deja vu while watching this video. >.<

  • 08:57 ... Unfortunate? Paris is one of the great graffiti capitals of the world. If you understood the amount of skill and risk that goes into putting something like that up, maybe you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it as an eyesore. Theres a lot more to Paris then the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, you need to dig deeper, and not be such an American tourist.

  • @DClean And there's a lot more to her statement than what you are making her out to be. How did you get to the conclusion that all she thought Paris was, was a great advert for everything cliché about the city? The desecration of that gorgeous building is a shame. Maybe you should factor in that we in the States see Graffiti everyday. I think you need to dig deeper and realize that her being American has nothing to do with her statement.

  • What if someone is wearing a dress and walking on the glass floor?

  • @YOUNGSTER300 Then your in luck.

  • @YOUNGSTER300 Lol!!!!

  • that apartment is amazing.

  • kcal - Kilocalorie, is actually a lot. Cause its recommended to eat around plus or minus 2000 or 2 kcal per day, depending on your physical regimen

  • @Orlando2914 In nutrition a 'large calorie', or 'dietary calorie' is used, which is the same as a kcal. So your average 2000+ daily calories is equal to 2000+ kcal.

  • @doncini3000 How does 2000 kcal = 2000 calories? 2000 kcal = 2000 x 1000 calories. But I do see what your doing there, your looking at it from a nutritional stand point, apparently 1 kcal = 1 calorie. Strange, I looked at it as 1 kilo unit of anything as being 1000 units of that object.

  • @Orlando2914 I think it's funny how ppl with no clue try to give advice or facts...

Also a bit of common sense should make you reconsider your understanding when you see the pizza box... 258 kcal when we should eat 2 kcal per day would prolly then kill you? Eating 129 times the recommended mount must raise suspicions in your mind? At that point you must realize you have misunderstood?

  • @necox5 Hey smart ass! I did misunderstand. Doesn't mean my advice doesn't apply once you clear out what I'm actually trying to say. But honestly who would make 1 kcal = 1 cal? That I don't understand.. 1 kilo usually means 1000 under conventional terms. Was I wrong, sure I'll admit it. But my suggestion is still valid.

So to Clarify: a person should get around 2000+ calories or 2000+ kcal per day depending on their lifestyle

  • @Orlando2914 To help you understand a bit better. We have 2 different terms here: Calories and calories. The one with a capital C is the US, semi-retarded, term. 1 US Calories == 1 kcal == 1000 calories. 1 calorie = 4.18400 joules, this is the approximate the energy needed to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 °C. Why Americans chose to go away from science to create a new term so ppl get more confused I will never know. I guess that is America for you :/

  • @necox5 no yeah, I just googled the shit out of this just cause some people believed I lacked common sense between kilos and calories. But that's It is kind of confusing

  • @necox5 America didn't create a new term. They KEPT the old term. The US-Calorie (kcal) is the 'original' unit of energy. The problem is that when the rest of the planet went metric, America didn't. Kcals were given their metric prefix and made obsolete in science (but kept for nutrition) and joules were adopted instead. America's refusal to use the metric k-prefix is the source of confusion. The irony being, of course, that the kcal is defined in terms of metric units (Kg and celcius).

  • @Orlando2914 And not to get stickily with facts but the "recommended" amount of kcal per day is 1940 for females and 2550 for males. Though it is not any good advice to give since it is super dependent on the person in question. if they work out or not, their skeletal build, their body build. Also more important is what type of calories you eat. If is is good calories you can eat more and still not gain weight, if its bad calories, you could eat half and gain a lot of weight.

  • @necox5 No of course there are other factors, vitamins, exercise all play into to it. So I definitely learned something. Now help me out here, whats are good calories, as opposed to bad ones?

  • @Orlando2914 Also it does not take in to account super important stuff like vitamins and other vital nutrients. So one should not focus to much on calories, but rather what type of food one is consuming.

  • how many times have you gone to europe? seriously, do you have family who live there or something?

  • @so4eyo Yes. They just don't do blogs together, which makes people think they break up

  • Why can't Americans queue?

  • thumbs up if u saw this on shaytards channel for their favorites!

  • is she had short hair she would look like a dude!!!

  • 1kcal = 1000calories ;)

  • That apartment is sweet, how much does he pay a month?

  • FAIL

  • fuck you

  • I'm going to Paris this August.. I can't wait to see live what you saw.

  • some one must have a kick ass job to pay for that apt.

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame TEN POINTS!

  • what a fab apartment!!

  • hunchback of notre dame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame!

  • can i ask if you go with some sort of travel company or if you just plan your trip entirely by yourself? i am dying to do some traveling but i don't know how to go about it

  • @destinywolfe Just plan it yourself. Way cheaper, more dynamic, better result.

  • this your best video, i love how you can't stand in line, im pretty much the same, i rather wake up super early and be the first person in, or wait until it's closing time. having lived in paris for two years, i must say that your friend must pay a fortune for that apartment. i basically lived in a closet and payed a shitload. Have fun, and if you need anything in Morocco, contact me, I would be glad to help out.

  • Awweh! You so kawaii. xD

  • Woooohoooooo ACCORDIONS.

  • by the way... your friend must be super rich cuz to get an appartment THAT big close to Paris... is reaaaallly expensive!!!

  • In the US a "Calorie" that people hear is actually kilo-calories. so when you see that a sammish is 500 Calories its actually 500,000 caloires (500 kilocalories) in europe they write kCal. same thing as in the US.

  • Hunchback of Notre Dame!

  • As you sit in the bathtub washing away filth, you can look at a church where afterwards you can go wash away sin. Convenient.

  • kcal is the same as calories. americans just decided to shorten it

  • americans use Calories (with a capital C) which is equivalent to Kcal. 1 Cal is 1000 cal or 1 Kcal if I'm not mistaken. calories are used for energy (science) while Calories are used for food.

  • yeh never make eye contact in france cause the french aren't as nice as the rest of the world from my experiences in france

  • @serridgeas false. French people are very nice, just not in Paris ^ ^ and they don't really like (like a lot of people) when you travel to their country without trying to speak their language.

  • who dosent want to be naked and look at church?

  • @kingice247 lol. srsly..

  • @kingice247 Lovin how you dont even know Linz or Phil and you are saying this shit. Shes not on holiday, shes traveling to see the world before it becomes hard when she gets a family or something. You're also hypocritical in saying that she could have visited much better places and then go on to say that Paris is so romantic. What would an uneducated hick like you know about good places to visit anyways? Keep your comments to yourself because everyone else here loves Linz.

  • disney's hunchback of notre dame!

  • I LOVE how the apartment is like, petite..?! No pun intended :P

  • 1 kcal = 1000 calories

  • What an amazing apartment! :)

The video wasn't boring, I always love how you do your videos!

  • try to get to notre dame in the morning. the lines are usually shorter (usually) so like 8am it opens so get there early.

  • aww im so jealous. i miss paris :(

  • calorie with small "c" is what denotes 1small calorie. And Calorie with big "C" denotes I large calorie, which is equal to 1kcal.(note the small "c" in kcal). So the info actually says the for a 100g serving, there is 258 Calories.

  • K=1000

  • Kcal= 1000 calories

  • Calories with a capital C are Kcals.

  • US calories are kcals, we just shorten it.

  • Festival of Fools from the Hunchback of Notre Dame! Love that movie!

  • Kcal = killa calorie cuz it's so damn good you would kill to eat it yo! Or not. :p Well you did go all the way to Paris for a pizza right? I hope you are feeling better and have an inspirational trip.

  • I have the same love of traveling but I only can go to close places to where I live now like Atlantic City and Boston. I wish I could travel with you, I learn so much from your videos.

  • I had to sit in the Notre Dame for like an hour when I was there because my sister was jet-lagged and kept falling asleep on my shoulder. XD

  • change YOU with MYPRIZE and then click the return key

  • the Hunch back of Notre Dame :D

  • "Especially in the south in the US...?" Have you been to the northern states in the US? Maybe you want to travel the US before other countries.

  • what are the 10 points used for? cuz im pretty sure that song is from beauty and the beast?
