@messatsu1981 Acutally I don't think the PS1 could handle some of what is going on there, the trees have more polygons than the PS1 could handle, the PS2 on the other hand, could handle this, wouldn't be surprised if this was developed for the PS2 but decided to go for the PS3.

Hey, i have a question, i juz got this game so im not sure how the attacks really work.. so sometimes i do specials like broken hit or sonic blast, sometimes it has this really cool finshing hit but it doesnt always happen.. do i have to go into "BREAK" before they can be executed?
@13KuroNekoXIII well break only lets you cause direct damage to their hp (red bar) when the red bar is depleted, then the combo attacks will cause more hits.
@13KuroNekoXIII some skills do certain things if used in conjunction to other skills for example double attack + power attack = broken hit a few cool attacks for the earlier parts of the game are flame edge + fire + power attack= scarlet peony if you need any more help let me know via a pm or if you are online on the ps3 my psn is alastors_flame

@inogami03 This game is made by the same people who made X-Edge, hence similiar mobs and similar game style. I do have to agree with you a bit about X-Edge being a little better.

I just wish the animations had more movement in them when they attack. Some of them do, it looks like a pretty good game from what I can see though. Cant wait

@EiichiroToriyama Yeah the graphics arent on par with some of the latest games being released at the moment but theres a couple of things which makes it worth buying, 1. the ps3 doesnt have a huge rpg game base so anything that comes onto it is always a +. 2.Gameplay is designed so anyone can play. 3. The story line, this is the key, the game could be a 2-dimension pile of rubbish but if the story is amazing it makes up for it.
@akemimaemi Agreed on the storyline being a fundamental intricacy to RPGs. However, having an RPG simply because there is a small amount of them available isn't reason enough for me; that's a direct contradiction to a general rule of thumb I've always been partial to when seeking anything worthwhile, which is quality over quantity.
@akemimaemi Also, anyone being able to pick up and play is always good for profit as it can lead to higher sales, and in-turn, more revenue to negate production costs. I just don't know that it's always best for those players that like to play intuitively and not be hand-held by the developers. Easier game play can diminish and even shorten it if one is able to breeze through.
Not to say that this is the case with AGoW since I've yet to play it and wouldn't know--just sayin'.

@EiichiroToriyama The graphics doesn't mean it's a bad game, Cross edge is like my favorite game on ps3(with valkyria chronicles) and it's also by compile hearts and I love the way you said "It LOOKS like"...how can you judge something without even trying it even if it's an RPG and you can guess the basics.
So you have no right to not recommend a game you judged on graphics(which are nice and colorful 2D sprites which I like better then ugly 3D like halo reach) and gameplay you didn't try.

Sorry for the late reply, some skills : Avalanche, Execution etc will only do 24 / 36 hits etc In order for it to get the full amount of hits you must break the enemy, if you watch the video I start off with stardust and BREAK comes up this triggers all the skills full animation and gives you more hits which gives you more damage, Hope this helps.

It looks like that Horrid game "Crossedge" I thought that game would be an awesome rpg,but I failed miserably! all because of the combat system and the monsters that were fuckin over powered (the elements) that made the game gayer than it already was. It's true that Cross Edge had a horribly convoluted and confusing battle system, but the degree to which you enjoy Cross Edge scales with how much effort you're willing to put into it. Once you get past a certain threshold where you find an ideal team and combo setup the game becomes awesome. It's pretty much the same for Agarest. I've only gotten to the second generation so far, but I have a feeling the best is yet to come.
Yes its a srpg, It has a fairly decent storyline compared to some of the rubbish being released lately. Allthough at time's it does seem a bit rushed. Basicaly its about sealing pillars to weaken a evil god who you (like most games) fight at the end. Its a similar layout to Disgaea game's where you can continue the game after you finished it with extra boss's items etc.

Miesha's are a pain to find but they are located in Closed Forest to Vissionary Forest, I believe its to the bottom left (end path) from the entrance of closed forest if memory serves. They are these little dragons, and can cause some major damage if you are underleveled or not paying attention.
@akemimaemi Is there any special reward for overkilling the "Dark Knight" at the end of each gen ? Something like the Seiryu Sword From Overkilling the Dragon at 2nd Gen
Hi, if its your first playthrough, high chances you will struggle to overkill or break the end gen boss's, that being said If you can they usualy drop str+ int+ items and or a armor piece or weapon, I also suggest trying to steal from them as well, As you can get str+ items that way too.

@akemimaemi sorry for the never ending flow of questions @~@ but i just reached 4th gen and i'm seriously screwed (as usual) ... i tend to use the heroines as my main team and each time after each gen they get removed zzz...... now i'm left with only a under lvled Duran and Vira , Ellis , Borgnine having a very hard time with the new mobs any tips ? i'm thinking of bringing Thoma and Noah back as Marionettes
If your characters are about 40 you should have no problem, the first couple of maps are a pain with the cerberus's but some of the maps later on are easy which make perfect leveling up spots. Otherwise your best bet would be to marionette your previous characters like you said, although theres the money issueto overcome this you will have to use your tp (the weapons and armor in there are pathetic and are mainly used for synth) exchange the tp for vessel of life (25tp) sell it for 50k.
Sorry I ran out of characters. Alternatively equip ellis / vira (any other spell casters) with raising rod, (even if it reduces there magic damage) equip Thunder / Lightning / Spark Shot which makes Thunderstorm, now this move is soooo damn amazing, and has a high chance to paralyze monsters including some boss characters ;). Including in post game, dunno if its a glitch, but it makes the game a hell of alot easier.
@akemimaemi My Duran Currently has 109 Str , 2.5k Atk but i feel hes not doing as much Dmg as he should the same thing happened for 2nd and 3rd gen for me as well -sigh-
@akemimaemi but so far the best spear i found with general and power skill slots is the one in the Tp shop the one near the end , Bardiche , For now its Duran 47 , Borgnine / Ellis / Vira 56
@akemimaemi i just completed my first playthrough i managed to over kill the last Boss ^~^v Tanking First then Final Ex Spam , i didnt managed to get 1m dmg though T~T i didnt get extra boss items though all i got was a weird ring , and a stupid Divine Lance >.>

I know the PS3 is region free, but I heard someone say that this game is an exception, is that true? I'd rather just import this game, than use up 10gb of space on my hard drive, so can anyone confirm this?

i've got a question: i'm doing the same combo ( avalanche ), but it is not that long than yours O.o when i'm combining this, it stops when the ice is exploding

Sorry for the late reply, some skills : Avalanche, Execution etc will only do 24 / 36 hits etc In order for it to get the full amount of hits you must break the enemy, if you watch the video I start off with stardust and BREAK comes up this triggers all the skills full animation and gives you more hits which gives you more damage, Hope this helps.

I have been playing this game for like a few weeks now (1 or 2) and this game has nothing perverted so far.

It looks like that Horrid game "Crossedge" I thought that game would be an awesome rpg,but I failed miserably! all because of the combat system and the monsters that were fuckin over powered (the elements) that made the game gayer than it already was. I love,Capcom...just not that game, What they need to do is stop messing around and make, Namco X Capcom for the ps3! that would be an RPG that sells!!! They fail to realize that ps2 has the best RPG'S what they should do is go back and remake som

It's true that Cross Edge had a horribly convoluted and confusing battle system, but the degree to which you enjoy Cross Edge scales with how much effort you're willing to put into it. Once you get past a certain threshold where you find an ideal team and combo setup the game becomes awesome. It's pretty much the same for Agarest. I've only gotten to the second generation so far, but I have a feeling the best is yet to come.

Yes its a srpg, It has a fairly decent storyline compared to some of the rubbish being released lately. Allthough at time's it does seem a bit rushed. Basicaly its about sealing pillars to weaken a evil god who you (like most games) fight at the end. Its a similar layout to Disgaea game's where you can continue the game after you finished it with extra boss's items etc.

Miesha's are a pain to find but they are located in Closed Forest to Vissionary Forest, I believe its to the bottom left (end path) from the entrance of closed forest if memory serves. They are these little dragons, and can cause some major damage if you are underleveled or not paying attention.

@akemimaemi Is there any special reward for overkilling the "Dark Knight" at the end of each gen ? Something like the Seiryu Sword From Overkilling the Dragon at 2nd Gen

Hi, if its your first playthrough, high chances you will struggle to overkill or break the end gen boss's, that being said If you can they usualy drop str+ int+ items and or a armor piece or weapon, I also suggest trying to steal from them as well, As you can get str+ items that way too.

@akemimaemi i just tank it , let it kill some people to build up SP then rev them then link and spam ex moves to Squish it @~@; One More Question though errr is there a glitch in the Europe version for Thoma? the 3rd Gen Hero his Ex Moves doesnt match with the descriptions x.x and when will Rush Beat skill be avaliable ?

@akemimaemi sorry for the never ending flow of questions @~@ but i just reached 4th gen and i'm seriously screwed (as usual) ... i tend to use the heroines as my main team and each time after each gen they get removed zzz...... now i'm left with only a under lvled Duran and Vira , Ellis , Borgnine having a very hard time with the new mobs any tips ? i'm thinking of bringing Thoma and Noah back as Marionettes

If your characters are about 40 you should have no problem, the first couple of maps are a pain with the cerberus's but some of the maps later on are easy which make perfect leveling up spots. Otherwise your best bet would be to marionette your previous characters like you said, although theres the money issueto overcome this you will have to use your tp (the weapons and armor in there are pathetic and are mainly used for synth) exchange the tp for vessel of life (25tp) sell it for 50k.

Sorry I ran out of characters. Alternatively equip ellis / vira (any other spell casters) with raising rod, (even if it reduces there magic damage) equip Thunder / Lightning / Spark Shot which makes Thunderstorm, now this move is soooo damn amazing, and has a high chance to paralyze monsters including some boss characters ;). Including in post game, dunno if its a glitch, but it makes the game a hell of alot easier.

@akemimaemi My Duran Currently has 109 Str , 2.5k Atk but i feel hes not doing as much Dmg as he should the same thing happened for 2nd and 3rd gen for me as well -sigh-

@akemimaemi but so far the best spear i found with general and power skill slots is the one in the Tp shop the one near the end , Bardiche , For now its Duran 47 , Borgnine / Ellis / Vira 56

@akemimaemi i just completed my first playthrough i managed to over kill the last Boss ^~^v Tanking First then Final Ex Spam , i didnt managed to get 1m dmg though T~T i didnt get extra boss items though all i got was a weird ring , and a stupid Divine Lance >.>
