IMHO Stealth Marketing is illegal according to FTC guidelines
Here's a quote from the FTC website "The revised Guides also add new examples to illustrate the long standing principle that “material connections” (sometimes payments or free products) between advertisers and endorsers – connections that consumers would not expect – must be disclosed. These examples address what constitutes an endorsement when the message is conveyed by bloggers or other “word-of-mouth” marketers."
They may have bought it, but they did it on the premise that the person likes it, used it, tested it and is relaying their experience with it. Now it's giving "sound bites" that make you believe that, only to find it may not be true. There's no more trust. After all, isn't that what happens when someone fools around on a spouse???
come on! marketing is marketing... I don't think that it is a scam, at the end of the day, they decided to buy it, tv commercials lie,,, now that is a scam..
