but the thing w/ touhou is that the character sprites can get hit so long as the center hitbox doesnt get hit (the dot on the player's character w/ blonde hair)

@DunkleMaterie117 The reason it is popular over the internet is due to the large amounts of Fan Work as it is very addicting when played whether it looks like it or not. And my personal favorite of the game is the music, which cannot be matched by any other. For example there are very popular fanworks such as Bad Apple, or dogfight.

Ah, I see there are plenty of newcomers on this video. Don't worry, this is the highest level of difficulty, and a BIG stretch from Normal mode.

And if I have any advice to give, it's to give the games a chance. When I first saw it, I never thought I'd want anything to do with it. But Touhou is so much more than a Japanese bullet hell game. It's a series with beyond addictive gameplay, whimsical and fantastic music, lovable characters and super unique stories. It's all worth a bit of rage.

Allthough touhou can be fun to play. I wouldnt recommend them for total shmup noobs, as they are played differently from most other shmups and would teach the player bad habits. DDP (Dodonpachi) on (laggless)mame or for PC Blue wish resurrection or a kento cho game are good shmups for total begginers imho
