  • I liken the feeling of RLS to holding your breath underwater. It's such torture to hold still when you feel the urgency to move. Nobody that hasn't felt it would truly understand it. I exercise daily and I still get it over my whole body. It's a strange thing. For those who don't have it... don't judge... you have no idea what it feels like. It's torture.

  • I use medicinal marijuana for my RLS, which I call "Restless whole body syndrome" I can't sit or lie still at night. It's a horrible overwhelming urge to jump and twitch around. Pot gets rid of it immediately. It's instant and only thing that works. I highly recommend it for those who reside in States that have legalized it for medicinal purposes.

  • im 13 nd i have it

  • i have tourettes and restless leg syndrom. i'm more worried about making people around me uncomfortable. i can live with my own problems, i don't want others to deal with it too. and yes it can affect all limbs, it affects my arms sometimes too (different from the tourettes)

  • Rogue, lock, shaman.

  • One word: Vicodin.

  • @RunfromtheHeathen Amen...Requip helps me alot too,but marijuana did the job for me as a teenager. Ive been taking requip and vicodin every night for last three years. I never reach deep sleep unless I take 2 vico at night, but I'm afraid I might become immune to the narco effectiveness, so I usually only take 1 with requip and benedryle

  • I take two ibuprofen. Takes 30 minutes, then it's bearable again.

  • I'm one of those 12 Million

  • man all you people suggesting weed, nyquil and masterbation have obviously never expierienced rls. ints not that easy ive tried everything sleep aids and alcohol make it worse the best all natural solution FOR ME is an herb called kratom you can order it on line or find it at some head shops it does make you high be careful to not abuse it just use it to sleep a normal dose is about 3-4 grams good luck and please give me feed back.

  • @jweeze1 I have RLS and Medical marijuana knocks it out immediately. And I have it so bad that I get it over my whole body. Might not work for everyone but it works for me.

  • Dr. Have no cures for anything it really frustrates me.. You give antibiotics for all sickness which causes sickness know as Candida. really people stop going to these people they mean well but will never get because they were tought wrong. They give give give but never cure.. Go back to Gods ways.. Also Chiropractic.. your RLS will go away . Mine has.

  • @anebt Exactly! I often tense and un tense my leg muscles to get rid of the god awful sensations in my legs. I was on Tegretol for over a decade, which was a dream drug. Then it stopped working, I think they call that augmentation. Now I take Requip 2mg twice a day, and another anticonvulsant, Lamictal. I have severe RLS, with symptoms during the day, too:(

  • very nice info. but is it really that hard to say "people" instead of "americans"?? Also in vid 3 its an 'america' number. Maybe these statistics of diagnosed rls patience is super high-top secret data idk, but in this video the millions probably still would have still been fine when u would have said people.

You do know the whole world can see youtube right...?

maybe small thing but america doesnt suck, it's all small things combined that do the job.

    get out of your bubble!

  • @kvlonder if the statistics are only from an American study, then it would be inaccurate to state "people" rather than the specific of "American" people.

  • its all due to bad blood circulation, linked to anxiety, the blood does not flow in all ur body parts as it shud, but may be concentrated somewhere else.

i think u shud just relax, reduce ur stress, stop over thinking, eat what is required, and learn to breath, deeper, u can get a better oxygen to ur organism.

  • I heard it's caused by sexual frustration.

  • @MaDMAnHD3 it goes away when i get an orgasm so yeah.

  • my mother sits on her ass all day and claims she has RLS and I said "if you sit on your ass all day, your legs are going to want to move...

  • i have RLS quite badly. it used to be in my right leg and right arm but now its just my right arm and it effects me a lot, almost every night.

  • does it just affect "12 million Americans"? My god all these Americans with knee jerk reactions!?!?!

  • what I do for my RLS is sometimes I will take paracetamol before I sleep or I will apply cream pain killer on my right leg. I wonder if varicose veins is contributing to my RLS?

  • it's all mental, try running or getting a hard day's wrok...The only time I get this is when I don't do shit all day or I think about it at night.. marijuana helps, along with vicoden, oxy, and xanax.... so on but I don't suggest opiates as they kill nerve endings and cause liver damage.

  • I've been suffering from RLS for eleven years, since I was five. In the beginning it was just the legs which were troubling me, but now adays it's also my arms, shoulders, the muscles of the back and my abdomen which I constantly need to move during night time. RLS is absolutely terrible!

  • @FeelToForget is this an every night thing or sometimes??

  • i didn't know it was an actual sickness and kept living until the uncomfortable feeling was in my whole body i thought it only stayed in legs but got so serious

  • @khsendlove does it help to masterbate?

  • I'm developing these symptoms in my arms. I have to shake my arms and get out of bed. Its extremely uncomfortable.

  • @Johngtr13 stop beating your meat so much, that should help with the arms.

  • I have RLS nightly because have had an iron deficiency since birth.

  • @ramona7609 tragic

  • RLS has nothing to do with life style. I have been battling with RLS since I was a child.

  • what if i got it from anti depressants would it be reversible or would i just have to manage it. I was very healthy and active but there was a tragic death in my fam. and was prescribed anti-dep. ...

  • @astroid911 That's what happened to me. Traumatic death in the family, Sinequan for anxiety and severe and instant RLS. Didn't improve after I stopped it. Before I got put on Tegretol for RLS, my life was a living NIGHTMARE

  • I am from the UK and have had pain dominant RLS since the age of 13. I now see one the world leading expert in RLS as I have one of the worst cases he has ever seen. I have tried nearly all opiates and Parkinsons drugs, yet I still am awake mostly all-night. Now I take several medication(s) used in epilepsy and Parkinsons, along with opiate pain drugs. Thiamine is v good as well as Iron etc.,

  • I have been on the Amatriptyline one 25mg tab for 5 days now. I take it an hour before I go to bed and I get a good nights sleep. I still have the RLS during the day but it is so much easier to deal with after a sleep.

  • Went to the doctor today and he prescribed Amitriptyline one 25mg tab at first so hopefully I get a sleep tonight. Let you know how it goes.

  • I have just come out of hospital after suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage. From the minute I woke up from surgery I have had this horrible condition. It is bad enough trying to recover from the surgery only having to now put up with this. I hope it goes away I couldn't stand to think it will be long term.

  • Having once again one of those nights RLS kept me awake!!!!! FUCK THIS SHIT!! >:(!!!!!!!!

  • the natural cure to RLS is Magnesium Glycinate and it is curable it helped me out tremendously, dont let anyone tell you that it cant be cured! eating more green salads could help but i just supliment it changed my life!

  • It's fortunate for you that you've been cured. But I and lots of others have found no cure.

  • My condolences to you. I cant think of a more debilitating conditon. I know. It's murder. It wont kill us so it's not a priority for research by drug companies.

  • This problem is HORRIBLE!!!!! Ive had it for over 10 years.......I went to the dr in 98 and he couldnt tell me what it was. I would rather PUNCH my leg and feel that pain than the uncomfortable feeling from RLS!

  • I am 18 years old and have RLS in my arms and legs it lasts for hours and i get ot everynight. Its gotten worse over the years i first noticed symptoms about a year ago and since then it has gotten a lot worse. I just recently discoverd that its RLS.

  • So how much do they pay you for that comment? RLS is a FAKE invented by people selling you the medicine.

  • I agree that this video is a strong med. push. BUT you say it is a fake , because YOU ARE NOT THE ONE WHO HAS RLS! People suffer to the exend you can not imagine. It is simply cruel to say RLS is "fake"- there is sufficient evidence to it's etiology and treatment!!!

  • no, its not a fake.

  • @rvkan Congratulations you've just given yourself the "Im a complete fucking moron" Badge.

  • Atlast i saw this video.. i really cant sleep coz of my restless legs.. atleast i have hint on what to do watching this video.

  • i have restless cock syndrome it makes me hump people on site

  • Comment removed

  • @yankonthis lulz. sounds horrible.

  • its caused by hormones and high sex drive

  • Omg i didn't know it was an actual disease i thought it was just me being crazy and weird... glad to find i'm not alone, but sad to see other people feel my pain ;( Restful dreams to you all x

  • i have RLS and im 14. even my mom knows i have it because she has it too. i dont know any medicine for RLS for my age?

  • i thought RLS was a gang the Rascal Luv Satanists

  • lol

  • @Nanumir not it's Really Large Scrotums

  • In the past few years, I have been taking Neurontin for RLS, and it has done wonders for my sleep. No longer do the covers end up on the floor, or I wake up tangled in them. Imagine at age 48 finally getting a good nights rest?

  • FYI, there IS a cure. I'm not going to give my age but I HAD RLS all my life. I've been seeing a KCUCS (Knee Chest Upper Cervical Specific Doctor) since February and I'm now going on 9 full days of NO RLS and NO DRUGS! I'll leave it to you to do the research on this, as I had to. There are even some YouTube videos. I'm going to share KCUCS with the world. Take it or leave it. Ask yourself, how bad do you want it to go away and to stop taking pills?

  • I have rls but I experience the same exact sensation sometimes in my upper arms as well... is that a known condition as well cause I cant seem to find anything online for it. All I can say is it feels exactly like RLS but its in my arm and I feel like I HAVE to move or stretch and I just cant sleep, it drives me crazy! Luckily I have never experienced the problem in both my arms and legs at the same time, at least not yet lol

  • I also have RLS and same sensation sometimes in arms. Doctor send me to neurologist and now I get a pill of Mirapexin 0,18mg before go to bed. It works. The pill is for Parkinson, but don't worry, RLS is not Parkinson.

  • Yes. It can effect all limbs. If you're unlucky, all at the same time

  • I find my RLS quadruples and becomes INSANE when im anxious, smoke weed, or drink coffee.

  • @StuEDangerously how is it after beating your meat?

  • Another "change your life style and everything will be fine" load of garbage!!! The cause of RLS is NOT known, so it's downright mischevious to suggest coffee or smoking causes it. When I'm off my head with RLS smoking is the only thing that will give the slightest relief. This sort of misinformation makes me very angry.

  • You seem restless! Perhaps you need to rest your legs!

  • Personally I cannot stand the description of "an urge to move your legs"! My RLS became really bad again after I had my knee replaced. I have SLE also so that's where mine "came from" or at least causes a greater chance. I have found that lowering alchohol and caffeine and increasing iron helped dramatically. Good Luck to us both. Ignore the ignorant. Like Jesus said, forgive them Lord for they know not what they do.

  • @Brigidz waaaaaaaaaaaaa! snif snif!!!

  • @Brigidz Just because you are not negatively affected by smoking with RLS does not mean you are the standard. Nicotine is a stimulant and stimulants do aggravate it (in most cases). I am sorry you suffer from RLS, and I hope you find relief. I even have it in my arms. I wish you the best

  • @Brigidz is your really bad like its an every ight thing or only sometimes??

  • @Brigidz

just because smoking or coffee doesnt cause your particular case, it doesnt mean it wont be the cause for other cases. they are not suggesting that everyone with RLS is bringing the illness on themselves by smoking and drinking caffeine, they are just offering suggestions as to why the symptoms of the illness may appear in some particular people. and caffeine and nicotine has been long known to cause significant problems

  • i have had sharp pains throughout my legs for over ten years now! my symptoms matched up with rls. when i researched this topic and told my doctor that i thought i had rls he told me that i was doing the wrong research and that im too young to have rls, (this was when i was 18), and he told me to just take tylenol for the pain because it is probably growing pains. he is a complete idiot. i haven't grown an inch since 10th grade and the last time i checked 19 years olds dont have growing pains

  • my doc told me there is no age limit but if it is pain you are feeling maybe it's not r.l.s

  • RLS can feel like pinching in some people. In my case, it feels like extremem energy building up and if I do not move my legs, they WILL move themselves. I cannot control it. I have threatened to jump out of a moving vehicle it has become so bad. Do have that checked out because doctors do NOT know everything and if it doesn't go away it could be something else. Check out your diet and exercise too. :0)

  • In my case, it feels like extremem energy building up and if I do not move my legs, they WILL move themselves

me too, your description is actually validating to hear because i have not been able to find words to describe these sensations.

  • KCUCS

Knee Chest Upper Cervical Specific. No, doctors DO NOT know everything. My pills were no longer working and the next step was to send me to a Nurologist. I didn't want to get addicted to yet another drug and so I decided to look into this thing I had heard about. IT WORKED and now I can sleep like a normal person without drugs.

  • Yes, that is a good description. I'd never thought to describe it that way but that just about does it. I get other sensations with it, Weird pain and an irritability in my body that I just cant describe. It's a dreadful bloody thing. Morphine sort of keeps mine from throwing my self under a train. I've tired all the dopamine agonists but opiate seem to work best for me.

  • You do know that Opiate is an opium based drug right? Yikes! Man, no wonder it works....

  • Opium is an opiate. Morphine is an opiate. There are numerous opiate like drugs such as tramadol. If you are surprised I need to take Morphine to control the condition you don't understand the condition.

  • Hulda Clark claims that Nocardia are the bacteria which cause Parkinsons; I have noted

that the same medications are used for both RLS and Parkinsons. Perhaps it is the same bacteria..or condition...just progressive. The

fact that it is a bacteria is why it is

"hereditary"..its actually contagious. I will try to clean the blood at home with aromatherapeutic massage, along with zapping..which my husband doens approve of..but it works 5-9 volt zap..kills pathogens.

  • There is no neurological similarity between RSL and Parkinsons. Some of the symptoms are similar and sometimes the same drugs are used to treat each of these conditions. Other than that there's no connection.

  • Grevier,

Please go to the doctor and find put for sure. You will have to do some tests that are painful, but necessary to diagnose the underlying problems.

Like i said i have to have transfusions to stay alive its no lie and my legs always twitch and cramp and jump around at night.

When i first met my boyfriend i had to tellhim about my RLS because it can keep the other person on the other side of bed awake with all the moving around and having to walk at night. Terrible to have.Take care!!!

  • I have had restless legs syndrome and perphrial neuropathy. It isnt at all fun to have. I never get enough sleep andmy legs always twitch and cramp up bad when i sit too long. I've had about 115 blood transfusions. I will have to deal with it as i have to have regular blood transfusions to stay alive because my body doesnt make enough red blood cells to keep me alive and or give me enough energy to do anything. Low red blood cells means no energy thus not going or doing things it's terrible.

  • omg! if thats true im grateful for just rls. ive had it scince i can remember. it was actualy this video that showed me what it was. im 100% sure i have it tho.

  • i'm sorry to read this man... I hope someone can help you. God bless your soul

  • i think i have restless legs cos i broke my leg when i was 20 four years ago and the doctors shoved this rod up my tibia and fibula while i was all doped up on legal smack, dilaudid. then a nerve was cut around my knee. it's pretty much dead. you could stab it. i wouldn't feel it. my bum leg sucks. check out my skate videos. i want to give a shout out to all the people that really have rls. i'm 6' 4" with lanky ass legs. my legs are always sore. whoop! whoop!
