Just so you know, these software are just fancy stuff. You can bypass this security process easily by using a windows bootdisk, and going to prompt and cracking the system from there.

well... the fact that the sun glasses made it difficult for the program to recognise the women makes it clear why the program didnt recognise her picture when they damaged the part of the picture that had her eye..... it wasnt scanning with a lazer ...it was just comparing pictures ..so scan ur picture without drilling holes through ur eyes in the picture and it shall recognise

The next test is to use someone who has a beard. Find someone else who has a beard and same hair style and color, and see what happens. I used face recognition once and one of my friends (who has the same haircut and goatee as I do) got right in. His head was also somewhat shaped like mine. But then again, I was using cheap software. I bet this expensive stuff is much better...at least I hope, lol.

Basically, it'll ask you for your password. Then, when it sees your face, it'll enter your password for you and let you in (in other words, just for Windows account log in on Lenovo laptops (doesn't work on non-Lenovo laptops)).

no to make you sound dumb but identical twins have no differences from birth except for eye print and finger print, all facial features are exactly the same, however this is subject to change due to environment (IE. cuts, bruises, scarring).The features that the software looks for isn't something that is visible to the naked eye, it is taking measurements of the distance between the eyes,from nose to chin,top of head to chin ect, fingerprints are easy to fake on those scanners,due to definition

but this software is good

ive tryed numerous attempts to trick it and it only lets your face log in so not even pictures will work as i think yr detects the 3d structures of your face and not just position of stuff like eyes ect

but its good stuff and i think you will be amazed by it :)

Actually this is one of the better facial recognition software out there. In the amount of time it would take you to enter a difficult password (with Aa@#), the program can scan your face and log you in. I have it, and I love it!

It also hinders hackers the ability to "hack" the PC. Trust me, I've done it before to get into the Administrator account to access various computers/laptops. Even if you have a "difficult" password, It can be removed in a matter of minutes. Whether you have Windows XP or Vista. But with Facial Recognition, it uses a complex algorithm to identify key points of one's face. So that if you have a photo of the person, you still won't be able to access the computer.

Actually they've done a lot of testing like that, photos don't fool it. I personally have tried a variety of pictures of myself in different picture sizes, all very good quality photos too, with the same facial expression I had when Veriface took the image.

I still prefer fingerprint scanner. Although less secure your fingerprint doesn't change. Your appearance might. If the hat was bad, than a new haircut can provide problems.

I actually lost my window password but thingerprint reader has it covered. I guess I wouldn't be able to log on to Ideapad Y510 with a new haircut and forgotten password

Just bought one yesterday, and I love it. Its so refreshing to ave a laptop that doesn't feel like it will break if you sneeze too hard. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants solid performance, battery life, and intuitive technology. P.S. I wear glasses, and the facial recognition software recommends that you remove glasses before starting the scan. I could logon without my glasses but its a little inconvenient to remove them. You can disable this and just use your password
