Acrylic dries in minutes. The water/oils I'm using dry in weeks. Lets say 5 days if it's a thin wash. All evidence I've ready about points to acrylic being far more archival than oils, if that's what you are worried about.
This is fantastic. Did you use any reference images or anything? Little details such as the gleam of the helmet came together with apparent effortlessness. You've obviously got quite a bit of experience under your belt, but still this is impressive to me.
Also, out of curiosity, was this video sped up at all or is this in real time. If so, how long did this painting take you from start to finish?
Omred: There is a toned base that's dry. Probably acrylic.
It's a special type of oil paint made to mix with water. Several manufacturers make a version of it. I'm using water and a special dryer for this type of paint.
@markbehm hey i've been watching your videos and i must say that you have some awesome talent. as omred i was wondering about the "water mixable oils", the question is, you have acrylica base(for back ground) dry, then you start coming up with oil diluted in water and a druer to dry it up as you paint?
lucaddragon: They are done on board - the inside covers of my book. I seal the board (paper) of the book with acrylic gesso and then just paint away.
I've done plenty of oil studies on sketchbook paper sealed with gesso. Works fine. I also have a dark "ground" of black acrylic on here. Just so I'm not starting on white.
Also, I was just nabbed for using a copywritten song to back my zombie vid. Even though the artist said it was fine - his publisher did not. :/
Start this video at 5:20 and play the theme from Skyrim...EPICNESS ENSUES!

Mark!
This won't change a thing, but: the song is GREAT, and I definitely consider buying a Say-Hi-To-Your-Mom Album right now.
Also, YOU are great. Even greater than the Zombie-Vid song.
You rock so hard, I run out of superlatives to describe my fandom!

I would like to ask you onw question, what's the thickness of the paper? because I always see you adding layers of color?
Thanks and well done!
