I was just watching the nightly news and somehow missed that Eartha passed last week. Nearly broke my heart. I adored her for years, then when the disco music came out, it was cemented forever. She was a class act and deserved much more success. I never got to see her live but every TV performance and now thanks to Youtube, more, one can see why see was an icon to much of the world, but more so to her gay fans. Me being one of her most devoted.

I was blessed to get to see her countless times at Jazz Alley in Seattle. She was ever so gracious for her fans and was always the Grande Dame of the stage. I meet with many times in her dressing room and she was so kind, she loved her boys and we will never forget her. Thank you Eartha for being you!

Rest In Peace Ms Kitt (January 17, 1927 - December 25, 2008). I was just talking about how great of a performer she was last night and watching various youtube videos on her. I loved her Santa Baby song, only Christmas song that I could listen to many times. I never knew she was ill and she worked non-stop. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006 and never stopped working. Another great entertainer gone, a true triple threat. I am glad I was able to see her twice on broadway.
