My mother dated my father for 3 years prior to marring him and they waited. I have a friend today that will be marrying soon and she is still a virgin. Prostitution has nothing to do with waiting until marriage to have sex. Those men and women chose to go that route. That was a "career" or "life" chose.

Nor does this mythology that waiting makes for better results. What many people who chose to tell a revised history is that during these times it was VERY common for men to sleep with women outside of their marriage. So waiting to be cheated on is not that desirable.

Having a marriage without any knowledge other than verbal communication is a very bad way to have a relationship. People do need to assess the situation and three months at a time is a good call. Living with a person and having an exclusive relationship is the best way to know if the person is truly marriage material. If there snoring gets on your nerves imagine forcing yourself to endore that mess for a few years until that becomes the key factor in breaking the closeness of the marriage.

I agree with 90% of what you have said, however, I am in my 20s and dating the same man for 6 years. He has a key to my apartment because I lose everything and in the event that I lock myself out, there is one more person with my key to let me in. All I am saying is that the examples you have brought forth are all with people who have been in a relationship for a very short time. I think that once you pass the 3-4 year mark, not all of these rules apply. Some of this is too general.

If you are not married, a woman's body is not yours and your body is not hers. So in all actuality having sex, if you are not married, is "doing the most."
