How is the wear on these? Im putting them on a 2001 Silverado 2500HD Duramax. How would these compare to a Cooper ST Maxx? I go off road some, plow also.
@303badassboxer Many of the sizes are available in E load range (like the 265/70-17 shown in the video), those should NOT have a weak sidewall. I have not heard of any sidewall problems on any Duratracs though.
@DontTread0nMe1776 Just bought 285/75/16's for my LX which are E rated as well. I chose these over the Nitto Terra Grappler do to their superb Snow and Ice traction and because they shed Mud better then the BFG K/O's and the Terra Grapplers. So far I love the way they look and they handle nicely. I was a little apprehensive buying these after reading a couple posts on IH8Mud where people were concerned about the sidewalls being weak even though they are E rated.
@303badassboxer That's cool, I'm considering a set of Duratracs in 285/70-17 for my truck when it needs tires. I have a set of Goodyear MT/R's that are 7 years old with about 50K on them but still have lots of tread left (I do a 5 tire rotation since you should always have a matching spare with 4wd)). I really like the MT/R's and wasn't considering anything else until I saw these.
Everyone seems to ask how long they will last, these are off road tires, asking how long they will last is like asking how long your truck or Jeep will last, it depends 100% on how you drive on them. If you spend a lot of time off road, they wont last as long as if you never leave pavement with them, if you run them aired down and dont have a way to air them back up when leaving the trail, they wont last as long, if you dont routinely check your tire pressure they will be short lived.
@elitecssplayer the best tire i have ever used they bite so well in everything..used um in the mud drags and my truck is unstopable in the snow..i do burnouts all the time and i got 20k on um and have at least 50% tred left. they are silent when i bought um and still are..mine are on a 4dr toyota tundra
i want to get thees tires but all the people that had written a review only had under 6000 miles on them. i was just wondering how many miles you can expect out of them. right now i have nitto terra grapplers on my truck and they dont have much tread left on them they have about 20,000miles on them.
I have a set on my 97 jeep wrangler. They were ok in snow and they look great. But they suck in mud. they dont selfclean all that well which makes me lose traction. And they are wearing bad. I only have about 3,000 miles on them and I dont see them making 50,000.
Jim Anderson... these tires top BF Goodrich All Terrains, and the Silent Armors which many many people seem to brag up and love, and continue to use. They obviously have not used the Duratrac... they pass comments without knowing. I have used all 3, and the Duratracs are the top of the pack, I use them on myfullsize truck and my wifes mid-SUV.
I have a set of DuraTracs on one of my trucks and they're a good tire. I've had them on for over a year and they're surprisingly quiet when considering the tread type, they're holding up well with minimal wear, and they have good traction when off-road. I'd have to recommend these tires and if things continue as they are, I'll definitely be buying these tires again.
@drgoodspd Yup, I've had mine on my Tacoma for about 2000 miles now and absolutely love em. If they wear as well as everybody says they do, I won't buy anything else either!
@haveacigar420 what are they like at 200+ km/h you ask ?? Well, they are just perfect, thats why you see these off road tires on all the newest sports cars, in fact, you could Im sure even go up to 300 or even 350 km/h on these OFF ROAD tires ! ! ! Oh, and when you get to 200 km/h, tell Darwin we said hello and thank you for his service.
anyone know if these tires are rated for life expentancy ? like how many miles or km's till they wear out . I'm looking for an aggressive tire but that'll last enough highway miles as well
@1frenchmen7 If I remember right when I bought mine, they've got a 50k mile rating. Mine are holding up great after 1-1/2 years. Put them on an '84 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4.
