Two bands I MUST see before the worms eat my corpse: Mortification and Slayer. Well, I'd like to see Deicide and Tourniquet too, but the latter has gotten kinda soft (and the former was never really that great musically.) Also, Paramecium and Cannibal Corpse.

God gave them the ability to do that music, so they decided to give it back to God. Music itself cannot logically be good or bad-it's the intention behind the music that makes it good and bad.
Think about it with something like a knife-it's just a tool. People can choose to either use it to help them out or to kill someone.

Does anybody know why a lot of Mort videos sound really flat and dull...the song sounds awesome but the way it sounds on here...I have to turn the volume way up and even then it sounds dull and muffled.
Probably a poor transfer from a worn vhs tape by the poster ( i also have a vhs tape that this video is from), also considering that the tape is roughly 20 yrs old dating back to the early 90's...so yeah, no high quality
this is from 1992, so the quality is not going to be that great, especially for a Christian metal band, then again Nuclear Blast did release this in Europe from that year

I think there are actually a lot of Christian artists like this (Antestor, Frost Like Ashes, Living Sacrifice), but they are ignored for the more, uh, "family-friendly" artists like Skillet or Barlowgirl or other CCM artists. That, or talentless melodic metalcore hacks like Norma Jean or Haste the Day.

This kinda music wouldn't be accepted in church. Simply because it's metal and brutal, they'll think it's evil sounding. Mainly because most religious people tend to think metal is rebellious and Satanic and because most of them are narrow minded will think that Mortification are mocking God in such a way. Oh well, the fans know what Mortification are really like, they are faithful and brutal about it.
I'm not so sure it's a church thing as it is an old person thing, lol. The younger adults at my church are perfectly fine with it. It's the more elderly that find it disturbing. And I think that's true for pretty much all old people :P (not that there aren't exceptions)
Truth is, your church should not even have to approve what kind of music you can listen to. That is why you have free will, and the wisdom to listen to stuff that motivates you into carrying on positive actions and attitudes.

i like christian rock. and i understand that rock music with a Godly lyrics can be use by God to draw people to Him, specially those who are clinged to rock music. but why is it still that there are some unsaved who cannot see the truth of the lyrics but rather drived by the music style and cannot realize that they need Jesus as their LORD and Savior? why did terry watkins, a christian who proved that christian rock or even CCM artists are not truly GOD centered people.

this isnt rock dude, its death metal and I think it lies completely with the listeners choice to be inspired by the lyrics or not....has nothing to do with the musician being a "true" christian(whatever that means). If you approach the music with a heart not willing to accept most likely the lord wont speak thru it I think.

Does anybody know why a lot of Mort videos sound really flat and dull...the song sounds awesome but the way it sounds on here...I have to turn the volume way up and even then it sounds dull and muffled.

Probably a poor transfer from a worn vhs tape by the poster ( i also have a vhs tape that this video is from), also considering that the tape is roughly 20 yrs old dating back to the early 90's...so yeah, no high quality

this is from 1992, so the quality is not going to be that great, especially for a Christian metal band, then again Nuclear Blast did release this in Europe from that year

I LOVE Krisiun, but they're anti-Christian. A lot of people who listen to Mortification are not very fond of this side to their music...BUT NOT ME!
At first when I saw this, I immediately thought this to be a Christian version of Vital Remains [minus the neo-classical guitar riffage]

I think there are actually a lot of Christian artists like this (Antestor, Frost Like Ashes, Living Sacrifice), but they are ignored for the more, uh, "family-friendly" artists like Skillet or Barlowgirl or other CCM artists. That, or talentless melodic metalcore hacks like Norma Jean or Haste the Day.

This kinda music wouldn't be accepted in church. Simply because it's metal and brutal, they'll think it's evil sounding. Mainly because most religious people tend to think metal is rebellious and Satanic and because most of them are narrow minded will think that Mortification are mocking God in such a way. Oh well, the fans know what Mortification are really like, they are faithful and brutal about it.

I'm not so sure it's a church thing as it is an old person thing, lol. The younger adults at my church are perfectly fine with it. It's the more elderly that find it disturbing. And I think that's true for pretty much all old people :P (not that there aren't exceptions)

This was one of the best songs on the videotape. Pungent Stench, Monstrosity, and hypocrisy wwere really good ones to on that tape.
