  • remember from uni!

  • Bravo

  • Technique is very clear. It is a fast continuous pace. I worry for longevity sake of the dancers but really enjoyed the use of the Graham technique.

  • beautiful!

  • Easyyy But very nice (:

  • Can you please tell me the name of the songs that were being used please?!! THEY'RE GREAT!!! :D

  • yeye auder!! rockin' the front. badass..

  • @mhss0001 Why thank you miss! Only just saw this now. :)

  • Wonderful!

  • Hmmm a greek teacher and Martha ... nice !

  • @derekHSmith Shut up, kid

  • I love Graham like crazy and the girl on the left corner is the best but as a whole you all looked fantastic

  • Love it. I haven't found yet any Graham class accompanied by piano, though. Have you? I would really like to watch it!

  • MARTHA GRAHAM IS SOO MUCH STRONGER , HIGHLY TECHNICAL THAN THAT WISHY WASHY RELEASE CRAP THAT IS TAUGHT IN DANCE SCHOOLS TODAY !

  • @ThePrototype288 can i just say that people enjoy this "wishy washy release crap" its always technical, no inbetweens whilst ive been trainning. i have studied in the Marther Graham style a few years ago. and yes it was good for me. im in the middle of trainning professionally, and lately ive joined private lessons for this "wishy wash release crap" its done me so much good, im can be free and more expressive, there are less limits. dont knock it cos you dont like it, everyone is different

  • Bravo!

  • Beautifull class girls! Congratulations to your teacher! I used to do some steps that you performed over there. I hope I have the chance to take my modern dance lessons again!

  • wow, i have an obsession for the contractions.

Love the deep stretches! You girls have great body activity gng on! amazing!

  • where did this take place? this is truly an amazing form of art, i love modern dance.

  • My knees, and adductor magnus' hurt just watching this video! Hawkins is much more friendly to the body (well, for dancing anyways), it's no wonder he left.

  • Fantastic

  • is it music alive?

  • Its very peaceful to watch.. :D

  • we have to do this for the modern dance class at my school. thanks for doing this i needed to practice bow and arrow for a test.

  • Love Graham . A MASSIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE HATER!

  • excellent

  • I loveeeeeeeeeeeee that you added this video, such a great refreshment!

  • Amazing. I love how basic Graham technique is so enjoyable to watch. Almost like its own piece.

  • woow I love it! I love the Graham technique

  • woow I love it! I love the Graham technique

  • todo lo q aprendimos ya esta a la vista!

  • I'm trying to remember exact sequences from the Graham-based classes I had in college and this was very helpful to me! Beautiful work as well.

  • I have a problem with the word mastering. Art can never be "mastered"..

  • wow increible

  • Some of these moves I would love to use in my warm-up! Thanks for sharing. Nice pretty feet on the girl closest to the camera.

  • good job!!!

  • wow. I luv it

  • Good job!

  • Wonderful.

  • Awesome! Youi can see Graham in all of these movements for sure. Love the space too. RED

  • where did she or he get their music from?

  • i believe the album is called 'the contractions'

its a 2 disc cd with all the music for the basic graham exercises

  • I think Graham's technic is a great one, and I am haitian.

  • if you look under my videos you will find one more clip

titled martha graham based class - teacher andreas constantinou

    enjoy

    :-)

  • OMG can you not argue about dance forms etc... i uploaded a snip from my graham class to bring joy!

If you are so informed and a professional dancer then you should have the understanding and appreciation of the history of modern dance... Graham may not be for you but does not mean it has no place.

Understanding and appreciation as well as rejecting are forms of progression.

so please refrain from any bitter sweet "i hate graham stuff on here"

    dance and smile!

  • okay dokay....... :)

  • i studied graham for four years at laguardia - the only critic i have of most of the dancers in the video is they are not using the floor enough in the turns around the back everything else is quite good. if you use the friction of the floor you can propel your upper body easily through the space:) just a suggestion.

  • @eggyumyum

I'm a graham dancer and always will be! it's all about the form of the body for sure. such expressions through her movements are no match for the weak of heart. true strenght!...simply in love with graham!!

  • PS: 'lyrical'? gosh...such an old term...just like the use of the term 'western concert dance' and 'ensemble' and......yawn.....

  • @profedward Top Marks for being The perfect example of a cultural retard! Motto Of The Culturally retarded: "I cant Do it, So I cant beat it, Therefor I will Rubbish it!"

  • Well I don't know what a Dolly Dinkles school is, obviously you do. As for my 'training' you mention well I hold an MA in Dance (Distinction) a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Arts, a Diploma in Dance and a PG Cert. I have studied Graham, Limon, Humphrey and Weidman as well as the more post modern forms you seem to think lack form or aesthetic. I've also worked for some of the most high profiling global artists and companies. So go and shove that up your solo plexus and contract and then release.

  • @profedward We belive you (Cough) Thousands wouldnt!

  • @7Vails thank you for the compliment on being a cultural retard. Makes a change from being called an academic thug. I notice from your profile you are a 'retired' dancer? I'll send you a copy of my latest published article on dance and the ageing body! I'm sure that will sit well with you! Oh,and for your reference I performed Graham material for years before being a Professor and lecturing the form in University. Now I write about the embodiment of the material in relation to current discourse!

  • @profedward So Sorry That you are so board & dissatisfied with your life you take to Trying to prove yourself on you Tube ! I learnt everything I needed to know about you when I looked on your you Tube profile page!

So Please do something constructive & go and seek attention somewhere else.

  • @7Vails Go and play with your aroma therapy oil and your somatic practice all in the name of retired oooops I mean holistic well being. Now go and overdose on Valarium Tincture and Hops.... Yawn...

  • @profedward How very "Gay" of you Darling

  • what's the name of song???

  • Gosh is this archaic high Modernist form still being taught...? No doubt from the die hard Graham brigade who are clinging onto a phyisical imprinted embodied form ho and their hip replacements and alcohol...

  • An insecure comment from someone who is probably not a trained dancer, but has desired to be for so long. Oh wait! you probably are a fusion, orld,, lyrical, or maybe even a release dancer. All very nice styles, but none of them certified, real or solid techniques.

Before making such a immature statement, try getting trained at a conservatory of dance like The Graham School, The Ailey School, Joffrey, SAB, ABT, Sunny Purchase, or another, instead of Dolly Dinkle's School of other dances.

  • OMG!!! I am always amazed by this beautifl Technique!!!

  • Hi amazing video, anyone knows the music used to? the percussions and another to do graham classes? tahnks a lot

  • Amazing job ladies!!!!

Some of these I still havent mastered, but MARTHA GRAHAM technique is simply divine and a workout....

  • amazing!

  • Simply Beautiful,

    Thank you

  • extraordinaria clase!!!!!!

  • Very nice!

  • Woww girls you look amazing!
