DETOUR has major film quality and continuity issues; the acting is sometimes over the top campy; the protagonist becomes his own prison guard in the hell-hole hotel with the drunk vixen (he COULD leave at any time if he had the guts)...yet somehow all of this comes together to make a fabulously intense, interesting, and classic noir (the truest sense of the word) film!
It's nice to see someone giving this little 'film-that-could' some recognition!
