When I was a tree climber I did it every day all day for 5 years and was dropping them from 90-100 feet. I still got all my fingers and toes. Finishing a bucking cut with reasonable bar length allows you to be further from the log. Most of the cut can be made utilizing the dogs, then pull back and float the saw with your body less likely to get a dent or two.

Over the years that will work.

Arm chair loggers!Good one dude. You are right though about Chris showing care for the land. Most of his trees are leaning across roads or rotten. Those are the trees that need to be brought down. A firewood hack would go out in the woods and pick the best looking tree and saw "oh that would look pretty in my fireplace". When you cut a tree there should always be a reason it needs to come down unless you are in production logging. I think most of the "arm chair hacks" here have hardly ever cut!
